We join you in bringing this heavy burden before the Lord, and we thank you for asking in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is through Him alone that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that justice and mercy meet. We have heard your cries over these many months, the lack of electrical safety, the illness and suffering that followed, the financial loss from repair costs you should not have borne, the security deposit withheld, the cost of alternative shower facilities, the threats and inappropriate actions, and the painful and lasting damage to your skin. The Lord sees all of this and He is not indifferent to oppression or to those who withhold what is rightfully due.
The Scripture tells us, You shall not oppress your neighbor, nor rob him. The wages of a hired servant shall not remain with you all night until the morning. Leviticus 19:13. And again, Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you have kept back by fraud, cry out, and the cries of those who reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of Armies. James 5:4. We are reminded to Learn to do well. Seek justice. Relieve the oppressed. Isaiah 1:17. It is joy to the righteous to do justice, but it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity. Proverbs 21:15. God calls those who hold power over others, including landlords and managers, to steward what has been entrusted to them with integrity and care, and to make restitution when harm has been done, as Zacchaeus declared, If I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much. Luke 19:8.
We pray together for you now. Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. You see our dear one who has suffered in body, in spirit, and in finances because of unsafe conditions that were not their fault to bear. Lord, You know the illness, the distress, the skin that has been damaged and may take years to heal, and the anxiety that has come from threats and silence. We ask that You would touch and heal this body, for You are the One who forgives all your sins and who heals all your diseases. Psalm 103:3. We pray as You have promised, For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. Jeremiah 30:17. Lay Your healing hand upon the damaged skin, rebuild what has been harmed, and restore wholeness and comfort and peace.
Father, we also ask for justice and restitution. We ask that You would awaken and stir the conscience of the landlord and the community house manager by Your Holy Spirit, convicting them of what is right and leading them to repentance and to do good. Soften hearts that have been hardened and silent for three months. Move them to communicate honestly, to return the security deposit and all repair costs that were wrongfully kept, including the costs for the electrical system and the alternative shower facilities, and to provide fair compensation for the suffering and illness that resulted from their neglect. Let them not withhold what is due, but act with honesty and fear of You.
Lord, we pray for protection from further threats and inappropriate actions, and we ask that You would be a shield and defender. Give our dear one wisdom in how to pursue what is rightful through lawful and peaceful means, while trusting You with the outcome. Help them not to seek revenge, but to give place to Your justice, remembering Your word, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. Romans 12:19. Sustain their heart during this long wait. We know it is discouraging to pray for nearly three months without any remorse or response, but Your word says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. Do not let them grow weary in doing good, for in due season they will reap if they do not give up.
We encourage you to continue to bring everything to the Lord with thanksgiving, to keep careful records of all that you have paid and suffered, and to seek wise and lawful counsel if needed to recover what is owed, always with a spirit of grace and truth. God is both our healer and our just judge, He cares for your body and for your cause, and He hears every prayer you have lifted. We trust that He will provide, whether through the repentance of those who owe you or through His own provision, and that He will use even this painful trial to display His faithfulness and to draw all involved toward righteousness.
We stand with you, asking the Lord to bring swift and fair resolution, complete healing, and a restored peace to your home and your heart, all for His glory and in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Redeemer.
