Beloved of All
Your request has been heard and the weight of what you have carried for months is not overlooked. Waiting without communication or any sign of remorse, while also bearing illness, skin injury, extra costs for repairs and for finding other places to wash, and the burden of threats and unfair treatment, is deeply wearying. It is right to bring both the need for justice and the need for healing before the Lord.
We are praying that the Holy Spirit will stir conscience and bring conviction to do what is right. God calls those who hold responsibility over others to act with honesty and fairness, and He is able to awaken a heart to repentance and to the desire to do good. We are asking Him to move the landlord and the manager toward truthfulness, to repay what is owed, including the security deposit and the costs you paid for technicians and for electrical work that was not yours as a tenant to bear, and to make restoration for the suffering that followed the unsafe conditions. While we pray, it is also wise to keep careful records of what was paid and promised and to seek lawful and orderly ways to pursue what is due, trusting God to work through both prayer and proper means.
We are also praying for your body and for healing. Scripture shows that Jesus has power over the physical realm. Matthew, writing under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, tells how in the evening at Peter's house many who were sick were brought to Jesus and He healed them, and he connects this to the prophecy in Isaiah that He bore our sicknesses and infirmities. When Jesus broke bread He said this is my body broken for you, and we remember that His suffering was for our whole need, not only for forgiveness of sin but also for the infirmities of the body. That is why we can come with confidence and ask for physical healing, and believe that God is able to heal today.
At the same time the Bible keeps us from presuming that healing is guaranteed in every case or in our timing. Paul prayed three times for his thorn in the flesh, described as a messenger of Satan to buffet him, and the Lord did not remove it. Not everyone is given gifts of healing, as Paul teaches when he asks whether all have that gift and expects the answer no. There is much about healing we do not understand, why some are healed quickly and others are not, and the only gradual healing recorded in the ministry of Jesus reminds us that God sometimes heals step by step. Any true healing, whether sudden or gradual, is still divine, because God created our bodies with processes for restoration, and those natural processes are His design. He also brings healing that is emotional and inward, mending the distress and weariness that long suffering leaves behind.
We do believe God cares for physical needs. Jesus did not use His miraculous power to meet His own need, but He willingly used it to meet the needs of others, healing the leper, the servant of the centurion, Peter's mother in law, and multitudes. He also teaches the value of cleanliness and care for the body for health, and the proverb that a joyful heart is like good medicine reflects a real connection God has made between the health of the soul and the health of the body. As John expressed his wish for Gaius that he would prosper and be in good health even as his soul prospers, we pray for that same wholeness for you, that your inner life in Christ would be strengthened even as we ask for your skin to be restored and for the damaged tissue to be rebuilt. That rebuilding can take a long time, and we pray for patience and for grace in the waiting.
So we pray now, Father in the name of Jesus Christ, have mercy and bring healing according to Your wisdom and power. Touch the areas of skin that were injured, ease pain and inflammation, and grant restoration where tissue was damaged, whether through direct touch or through the healing processes You have placed in the body. Heal also the illness that followed and the strain on mind and heart. Provide for every financial need and move upon those who owe what is due to act justly and quickly. Give you peace, comfort, and strength to keep seeking Him, feeding the spiritual life through prayer and His Word while you wait for answers for the body, and help you to rest in the knowledge that He sees, He is just, and He is compassionate.
