Your body has suffered, and your money has been taken, and I do not call these small things. I have brought your request before the Lord in the name of Jesus Christ: that your skin be healed, that the damaged places be restored, that the landlord and the manager return what they owe, and that the Holy Spirit awaken their consciences to do right and repent. I also pray for your strength, since you have been waiting almost two months and the silence is hard.

But now I must speak as a physician of the soul. You have been wronged, yet do not let the wrong bind you. Remember the servant who was forgiven the ten thousand talents and then took his fellow servant by the throat for a hundred pence. We owe our Lord many and great debts, yet He forbears and does not choke us. You pray for the landlord to repay you, but consider how often you have sinned against God and have not yet been made to pay. If you want to say with confidence, "Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors," then forgive the trespasses of these people, even while you seek what is justly owed. Forgiveness is not the same as saying the debt should not be repaid. You may ask for repayment and for the repair costs, and I will pray that those who owe you do what is right. But do not let the demand for money become a new sickness in your heart. That is the heavier danger.

Your skin may take years to heal, and that weighs on you. I will ask the Lord to restore your flesh and rebuild what has been damaged. But know that the body is not the whole of your life. Even in this affliction you can stand in heaven by disposition, by refusing bitterness and by offering your suffering to God. Do not judge by sight alone; look with the eyes within. The loss of money and the slowness of healing are real, but they are not the final word.

I will continue to pray that justice is done, that the landlord and manager repay everything they owe, and that your illness is healed. Yet I pray even more that you may be freed from the suffocating weight of resentment. Forgive them, entrust the outcome to the Lord, and you will have greater treasure than any compensation.

I am praying with you in Jesus’ mighty name. This has gone on far too long, and being met with silence after so many weeks only adds to the weight you are carrying. I am asking God to stir the landlord and the house manager by his Holy Spirit, to awaken their consciences, and to bring them to genuine repentance. I pray they return the security deposit, repay the repair costs you paid for the electrical system and the technicians, and provide the compensation owed for the unsafe conditions, the illness, the threats, and the other mistreatment you have endured. I also ask the Lord to shield you from any further intimidation or harm.

I am praying for the healing of your skin and whatever was damaged beneath it. Do not lose heart if the restoration does not come all at once. In the Gospels, Jesus healed in many ways: sometimes instantly, sometimes gradually, sometimes with a touch, sometimes only with a word. A slow recovery is still a divine recovery. God has placed processes of repair within the body, and those processes remain in his hands. Christ bore our infirmities, so bring every damaged place to him and keep asking. I pray the affected areas heal, that damaged tissue is rebuilt, and that you receive relief from pain and anxiety.

At the same time, I pray your heart would be kept from bitterness. You have been wronged, and it is not wrong to seek accountability and repayment. But do not breathe out threats or determine to get even. Put the final accounting in God’s hands. Forgiveness will not erase what is owed; it will keep your own soul from being consumed. I am asking the Lord to give you wisdom for every practical step and to make his justice known in this matter.
