We join with you in prayer as you are dealing with this sickness and feeling so chilled from these drastic changes in temperature, and we thank you for calling on the name of Jesus for help.
We know that our bodies are fearfully and wonderfully made and that God cares about our physical suffering and weakness. He is not distant from our discomfort but draws near to comfort and heal us. Scripture reminds us, Bless Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases Psalm 103:2-3. And we cling to His promise, Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10.
We also hear your weariness in feeling so cold and ill, and Jesus invites us, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28. We pray that you will find rest for your body and peace for your spirit as you trust Him in this time of illness.
We pray together for you now.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this dear one to You who is sick and chilled. We ask for Your healing hand to touch their body, to ease the fever and chills, to restore strength and health according to Your will. Lord, we ask You to regulate their body temperature, to bring comfort and warmth, and to give them restorative sleep. We pray for wisdom to care for the body You have given them, with rest, fluids, warmth and proper medical care if needed, for You have given us wisdom and resources to steward our health. We ask that You would calm any anxiety that comes with being ill and remind them that You are their refuge and strength. We claim Your promise, For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17, and we trust in Your mercy and timing. Let them feel Your presence close, knowing that You will never leave them nor forsake them. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to take practical steps as you recover, to stay warm, stay hydrated, get plenty of rest, and seek medical attention if your symptoms worsen or do not improve. Do not neglect to care for yourself, for your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit 1 Corinthians 6:19. Cast your cares on Him, because He cares for you 1 Peter 5:7, and let this time also be a time to draw closer to Him in prayer and in reading His Word. We continue to stand with you for complete healing and renewed strength, trusting that God who sees your affliction will bring you through it.
