We join with you in bringing these needs before our Heavenly Father and we thank you for lifting up your husband, your child, and your elderly loved one to the Lord.
We pray first for your husband that the Lord would touch his body and take away these cold symptoms. We know how disappointing it is when illness threatens a joyful family moment like a school prize night. We ask God for His healing mercy so that your husband may be strengthened to attend and celebrate your child's achievement with you. We are reminded that God is our healer, as it is written, Bless Yahweh, my soul, and do not forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases, Psalm 103:2-3, and But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh, Jeremiah 30:17. We also rejoice with you over your child's prize and we pray that this night would be a time of encouragement and thanksgiving for the gifts God has given.
We also lift up your elderly loved one who has suffered a fall and is in pain, and we ask for the Lord's protection over her from this cold. We pray that God would guard her from further illness, ease her pain, and bring comfort and restoration to her body. The Scripture assures us, He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds, Psalm 147:3, and Even to old age I am he, and even to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear. Yes, I will carry, and will deliver, Isaiah 46:4. We ask that God would sustain her and let her feel His nearness and care, and we pray for wisdom for those caring for her.
We notice your prayer was offered to the Lord, and we want to gently encourage you that it is through Jesus Christ alone that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. It is by placing our faith in Jesus, His death and resurrection for our sins, that we can come boldly before God, and it is in His name that our prayers are heard. We encourage you to always pray in the name of Jesus Christ.
So together we pray, Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We ask You to lay Your healing hand upon this husband, to clear his congestion, ease his symptoms, and restore his strength so that he may join his family at this school prize night and give thanks for his child. We thank You for this child and for the diligence that led to this prize, and we ask You to continue to guide this young life in Your wisdom. We also lift up this dear elderly loved one to You, Lord, protect her from this cold, keep her from further sickness, and heal the pain and injury from her fall. Comfort her, give her peace, and let her know Your presence. We trust You as our great physician and our refuge. We ask all these things according to Your will and in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
