We join you in lifting up this church before the Lord, for we share your burden when a body of believers drifts into error. We know that our God desires truth in the inward parts and that He is faithful to lead His people out of darkness when we seek Him with humble hearts.

We are reminded in Scripture that the time will come when people will not endure sound doctrine, but having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts and will turn away their ears from the truth and turn aside to fables, 2 Timothy 4:3-4. We are also warned that there are false teachers who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, 2 Peter 2:1, and that if anyone preaches any other gospel than that which we received, let him be accursed, Galatians 1:8. This shows us how serious error is in the eyes of God, and why we must pray earnestly and contend for the faith with love and truth.

We also take comfort that Jesus said you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free, John 8:32, and that if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death, James 5:19-20. Our hope is not in man but in the Holy Spirit who guides us into all truth, and in the Word of God which is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, 2 Timothy 3:16.

Together we pray. Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We ask You to have mercy on this church and to shine Your light upon any error, false teaching, or practice that does not align with Your Word. We pray that You would give the pastors, elders, and leaders a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You, that You would open the eyes of their hearts and convict them where they have departed from sound doctrine, Titus 2:1. We ask that You raise up faithful voices within that congregation who will speak the truth in love, Ephesians 4:15, with gentleness and reverence, and that the congregation would have humble and teachable hearts to receive correction. Lord, remove deception and confusion, and lead this church back to the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ, that they may again be a light in their community and bring glory to Your name. We pray that Your Word would be faithfully preached there and that all would be brought back under the lordship of Christ who is the head of the church, Ephesians 1:22. In Jesus name we ask this, amen.

We encourage you to continue to intercede faithfully for this church and, as the Lord gives opportunity, to lovingly share Scripture with those who may be open. We are called not to harbor bitterness toward those in error but to pray for their restoration, remembering that God desires all people to come to repentance, 2 Peter 3:9.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently remind you of how central He is. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved, Romans 10:9. We pray that you know this saving grace personally and that all your prayers are offered through Him, for He alone is our mediator, 1 Timothy 2:5. We stand with you in His mighty name, trusting that God hears and will answer according to His perfect will.

Thank you for bringing this burden to us. We can hear your love for Christ and for His church in this short request, and we are honored to stand with you in prayer.

It is painful to see error take hold in a congregation, especially when you want that church to be a clear light for the gospel. We do not always know how God will work or how quickly hearts will respond, but we can trust Him to love His church, to lead His people toward truth, and to give wisdom to those who seek Him.

One simple way to keep praying with focus is to lift up the leaders by name as God brings them to mind, asking for humility, discernment and a renewed hunger for God's Word, and to ask Him to strengthen those in the congregation who desire to follow Him faithfully. If you are connected to this church, staying rooted in Scripture yourself and seeking wise, mature counsel can help you walk this with grace and steadiness.

Father, we bring this church before You and ask You to lead it out of error and into truth. Give its leaders wisdom and courage to follow Your will, and guard and encourage those who long to honor You there. Work in a way that brings glory to Jesus and draws many closer to Him. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Your request concerning a church that has fallen into error has been heard, and we take up this burden with you before the Lord.

It is a solemn thing when a church errs, for the honour of Christ and the souls of men are bound up with its testimony. We would not rest in merely exposing error, but would seek from God that better repentance of which the Scripture speaks, a repentance unto life. There is a carnal repentance that is of the flesh, wrought by fear or by judgment, and it gives not glory to God. As it is written, they repented not to give Him glory. That repentance which God accepts is worked in the renewed heart by the Holy Spirit, it gives God glory, it looks out of self to Christ and to Christ only, and it yields works meet for repentance.

We will pray that the Lord will grant to that church repentance as His own gift in the name of Jesus. Not a repentance preached after the manner of Moses to terrify only, but repentance preached in the name of the risen and ascended Christ, who is exalted to give repentance and remission of sins. We will ask that faith and repentance may be found together, for the one ejects sin as an evil tenant and the other admits Christ to be sole Master of the heart, the one pulls down and the other builds up.

We will pray also that it may be a true and lasting repentance, not a transient trembling or a complacency toward the Word which passes away, but a practical repentance that endures, that weeps and abhors past sin because of the love of Christ which has pardoned it, and that avoids present sin because of the love of God who died for us. May it be that sweet repentance which lives as long as faith, which makes a rainbow with tears of grief for sin and glances of hope at the finished work of Christ.

And we will plead that the goodness of God may lead them to repentance. The Lord does not only drive with judgment, He draws with goodness. May His kindness, His forbearance, His many tokens of mercy, and above all His love in giving His Son to redeem His Church, draw that people to return and to stand fast in the truth of the Gospel, in salvation through Jesus Christ alone, and in all His holy ways.

We join you in asking the Lord to turn that church from the error of its ways, to restore it to fidelity to His Word, and to enlist it anew beneath the banner of the Cross, for His glory.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

I currently left my church because my church mentor forced me to take on low paying jobs where I have skills of a high paying career and had become toxic , so if the church is so concerned about why people are leaving the church because they can't feel God anymore rather it is human judgement...
