Grant us all hunger for The Word, 1 Peter 2:2, Holy Spirit of Revelation, Eph 1:17, Flesh and Blood does not reveal Messiah, Matt 16:17, but OUR FATHER in Heaven! Father, let the Holy Spirit convict and convert, Jn 16:8, teach us all things, Jn 16:13, open minds to UNDERSTAND SCRIPTURES, Lk 24:45 -- and faith to pray and receive, Mark 11:24, (Faith comes by hearing the message preached), Rom 10:17 -- God, You will that none would perish, but all to come to repentance, 2 Pet 3:9, that all would be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth, 2 Tim 2:1-5, even all in authority, and all our households, Acts 16:31. When we ask You hear and if You hear, we have, 1 Jn5:14-14, so SEEK and SAVE the LOST, Lk 19:10, in Jesus' Name, Amen, 2 Cor 1:20.

We come before the throne of grace with hearts burdened for the spiritual vitality of church leaders, pastors, teachers, worship leaders, and preachers, who carry the weighty responsibility of shepherding God’s flock. Your request stirs within us a deep conviction that the health of the church begins with the health of its leaders, and so we lift them up in fervent prayer, seeking the Lord’s face on their behalf.

First, we recognize that the foundation of all ministry must be a vibrant, personal devotional life. Without this, even the most gifted leader will falter. We pray that these servants of God would prioritize their fellowship with the Holy Spirit, abiding in Christ as branches in the Vine (John 15:4-5). May they not neglect the sacred discipline of prayer, for it is in the secret place that they are strengthened and empowered (Matthew 6:6). We rebuke any spirit of busyness or distraction that would pull them away from this vital connection. Let them study the Word with diligence, rightly dividing the truth (2 Timothy 2:15), and may their lives be a living testimony of its power. We pray for true rest in the Lord, not merely physical rest, but the rest that comes from trusting in His sufficiency (Matthew 11:28-30). May they find their Sabbath in Him, even in the midst of labor, for the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath (Mark 2:27).

We lift up their families, for the enemy often targets those closest to the shepherd to weaken the shepherd’s resolve. May their homes be havens of peace, where the Word of God is honored and lived out. We pray for their wives and children, that they would not grow weary in supporting the call of God on their lives, but would be encouraged and strengthened in their own walks with the Lord. May these leaders model godly marriages and parenting, reflecting Christ’s love for the church (Ephesians 5:25).

For the lost, we cry out with urgency. The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few (Matthew 9:37-38). We pray that these leaders would be bold and unashamed in preaching repentance and the forgiveness of sins (Luke 24:47). May they seek the lost with the same passion as the Good Shepherd, who leaves the ninety-nine to find the one (Luke 15:4-7). We rebuke any fear of man or compromise that would dilute the Gospel. Let them preach Christ crucified, the power and wisdom of God (1 Corinthians 1:23-24), and may the Holy Spirit convict hearts of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8). We pray for divine appointments, house visits, hospital rooms, prison cells, where the love of Christ can break through darkness. May they remember that they are ambassadors of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:20), and may their lives and words draw many to salvation.

For the church, we pray for revival. Not a revival of mere emotion, but a revival of holiness, repentance, and obedience. May the Holy Spirit fall afresh in worship, so that every gathering is marked by His manifest presence (Matthew 18:20). We pray against lukewarmness and apathy, for the Lord warns that He will spew such out of His mouth (Revelation 3:16). Let the teaching and preaching be sound, grounded in Scripture, and applied with wisdom (2 Timothy 3:16-17). May the Word of God be central, not man’s opinions or worldly philosophies. We rebuke any spirit of division or strife, and pray for unity in the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:3).

We also lift up the congregation, that they would not neglect gathering together (Hebrews 10:25), but would hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matthew 5:6). May they receive the Word with humility, allowing it to save their souls (James 1:21). We pray for families to be drawn to the church, not by programs or entertainment, but by the Father’s drawing (John 6:44). May the Lord open their eyes to see Christ as He is revealed in Scripture (Matthew 16:17), and may they respond in faith. We pray for those who have wandered from the truth, that they would be turned back, saving their souls and covering a multitude of sins (James 5:19-20).

For the leaders themselves, we pray for protection. The enemy prowls like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). We rebuke any spirit of pride, lust, or greed that would seek to ensnare them. May they stand firm in the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18), and may their lives be above reproach. We pray for wisdom in shepherding, that they would know how to care for the flock with gentleness and humility (1 Peter 5:2-3). May they not grow weary in well-doing, but persevere in faith, knowing their labor in the Lord is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58).

We also address the sacredness of the Lord’s Supper. May it not be treated as a mere ritual, but as a profound act of fellowship with Christ and His body (1 Corinthians 11:26). We rebuke any irreverence or casual attitude toward this ordinance. May it be a time of self-examination, repentance, and renewal, as believers remember the Lord’s death until He comes.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of these leaders, imperfect though they may be. We ask that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, anointing them for the work You have called them to (1 John 2:20). May they seek You with all their hearts (Jeremiah 29:13), and may You reveal Yourself to them in fresh and powerful ways. Let them not rely on their own strength or wisdom, but lean wholly on You (Proverbs 3:5-6). May their lives be a fragrance of Christ, drawing others to You (2 Corinthians 2:15).

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Chief Shepherd (1 Peter 5:4), who alone is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). May Your will be done in these leaders, in the church, and in the lost souls they seek to reach. May Your kingdom come, and Your name be glorified in all the earth. Amen.

We join you in lifting up your pastors, teachers and worship leaders and we hear how much you want their own walk with the Lord to be deep and refreshed.

You are praying not just for what they do on Sunday, but for their time alone with God, their study, their prayer for families, and even for real rest after they have preached and visited and served. That matters so much. Leaders who are constantly giving out need that quiet renewal and the fellowship of others who know them personally, so their teaching and visiting and worship can flow from overflow rather than exhaustion. Your prayer for them to be sustained in that way is a gift to the whole congregation.

We also hear your longing for your family and others to be drawn in, to hear and receive the Word with open hearts, and to keep gathering together in fellowship. It is beautiful that you are holding both together, the leaders and the people they serve.

One small way to come alongside the answer you are praying for is to let one of those leaders know this week that you are specifically praying for his or her devotional life and rest. A brief, personal encouragement often strengthens them more than we realize.

Father, we bring these leaders before You and ask You to meet them in their private time with You, to renew their strength and give them rest. Anoint their worship, teaching and visits, and draw families and visitors to hear Your voice with faith. Guard each household from the evil one and grow in all of us a hunger for You. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your burden for the shepherds of the flock is a right and weighty one, and it is well that you have brought it before the Lord in so full a manner. It is a prayer that the Church militant greatly needs, and I join my heart with yours in presenting it at the throne of grace.

We will pray first for those who bear rule and labour in the Word, that they may abide in fellowship with the Holy Spirit and keep close to the Vine, for apart from Christ they can do nothing. May the Lord grant them grace to give themselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the Word, according to Acts 6:4, and to be diligent students rightly dividing the word of truth as in 2 Timothy 2:15. And may He give them also that great day of rest which He appointed for man, Mark 2:27, rest after preaching and meetings, so that God Himself may work in them and renew their strength for the work. Preaching has its right use and must never be neglected, but real heart devotion is worth more than anything else, and prayer is the power which brings God's blessing down upon all our work.

We pray also that the Lord would save the lost and revive His Church through a true repentance. There are repentances which do not secure the salvation of the soul, a carnal repentance that is of the flesh and after the manner of sinful nature. But we ask for that repentance unto life which is accompanied by spiritual life in the soul and ensures eternal life, that repentance which is the work of the Spirit of God and which gives God glory. May He grant that repentance which makes a man weep and abhor his past life because of the love of Christ which has pardoned it, that godly sorrow which needs not to be repented of. As you have asked from Acts 3:19, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, so we cry, O Lord, revive Thy work, in the midst of the years make known, for a Church cannot be revived unless God revives it. The machinery for getting up a revival may often be the greatest hindrance to true godliness. Not a soul is saved, not a saint is quickened except by the work of God. Therefore we say, Lord, put Thy hand to the work.

We ask for the Holy Spirit's presence in worship, for He has promised to be with us alway even unto the end of the world, Matthew 28:20, and for grace to worship the Father in spirit and in truth, John 4:24, with the anointing from the Anointed One. May the Word be preached faithfully as in Mark 16:15, and may there be biblical correction and teaching according to 2 Timothy 3:16, that sound doctrine may again be heard in our pulpits with solemn earnestness. And may these faithful men be sustained in visiting from house to house, in hospitals and prisons, remembering Him who said, I was sick and ye visited me, Matthew 25:36. One life pulsates through all the living Church of the living God, and the salt of holy faith must permeate the daily life of all Christians.

For families and for all who hear, we pray that the Father who alone can reveal the Messiah, Matthew 16:17, will draw them by His grace, for no man can come except the Father draw him, John 6:44. May they not forsake the assembling of themselves together, Hebrews 10:25, but be found in fellowship daily as in Acts 2:42, and as often as they eat the bread and drink the cup, 1 Corinthians 11:26, may they do it in true communion with Christ until He comes. Grant them hunger for the sincere milk of the Word, 1 Peter 2:2, and the Spirit of revelation, Ephesians 1:17, to open their minds to understand the Scriptures, Luke 24:45, and to convict and convert, John 16:8. May they receive with meekness the engrafted word which is able to save souls, James 1:21, with faith that comes by hearing, Romans 10:17, and with humility to pray and receive, Mark 11:24. We remember the promise that God wills that none should perish but that all should come to repentance, 2 Peter 3:9, and that He would have all to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth, and we plead the household promise, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved, Acts 16:31, and that turning of wanderers from the truth which saves a soul and covers a multitude of sins, James 5:19.

Keep them, O Father, from the evil one, John 17:15, and deliver them from that lack of knowledge by which Thy people are destroyed, Hosea 4:6. Grant vision where there is none, Proverbs 29:18, and knowledge of the forgiveness of sins and newness of life through Thy Anointed crucified for us, Galatians 2:20. For Thou art our ever present help, Psalm 46:1, and Thou art nigh unto all that call upon Thee, Deuteronomy 4:7.

So we seek Thee with our whole heart, Jeremiah 29:13, trusting that when we ask according to Thy will Thou hearest us, 1 John 5:14. Lord, seek and save the lost, Luke 19:10, as a shepherd seeks his sheep in Luke 15, and let the joy be great over sinners that repent. Cause Thy face to shine upon Thy sanctuary, and let Thy people rejoice in Thee, for the Church needs her God above all else. In the name of Jesus Christ, in whom all the promises are yea and amen, 2 Corinthians 1:20, we pray. Amen.
