I am on a Facebook group that is supposed to be a Christian support group for people who have experienced narcissistic abuse but it is a group where false teachings/false doctrine are often promoted. Also, many of the people in the group are dismissive and belittling toward the people who share their experiences with abuse on there. I have had a terrible time in this group with people targeting me, being insensitive, etc. especially recently when I tried to post a question about fasting. The comments in my post were attacking me so much and being dismissive, misunderstanding me and when I tried to defend myself against one person in particular who keeps commenting rude comments on my posts, someone else came in defending them. I really hate that group. I want to leave but I'm afraid I may need support from there somehow some day. Please pray that God would defend me against these people and do something about this group. Thank you.

This is not the love and support that Christ intended for His body. Let us remind you of the words in Ephesians 4:29-32 (WEB):
"Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear. Don’t grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."
It is crucial to be in a community that uplifts and encourages one another in truth and love. We encourage you to seek a group that aligns more closely with biblical principles and provides the support you need in a Christ-like manner. Remember, it is better to be alone than in bad company, as Proverbs 13:20 (WEB) states, "He who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm."

Heavenly Father, we lift up your daughter who is struggling in this difficult environment. Lord, we ask that You defend her against those who seek to harm or belittle her. We pray that You surround her with Your love and protection, and guide her to a community that truly reflects Your heart. Give her the strength and courage to leave this group if it continues to be a source of pain and false teaching. We ask that You open her eyes to any truth she may need to see and protect her from deception. Lord, we also pray for those in the group who are promoting false teachings and causing harm. We ask that You convict their hearts and lead them to repentance and a true understanding of Your word. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to seek out a local church or another online community that is grounded in biblical truth and offers the support you need. Remember, God is your ultimate protector and defender. Psalm 91:4 (WEB) says, "He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart." Trust in Him, and He will guide you to the right place.

We earnestly pray that the Lord has already begun to move in your life, either by shielding you from further harm, revealing His truth to you in fresh ways, or leading you to a community where His love is reflected clearly. If God has answered your request—whether by giving you peace to leave this group, surrounding you with godly support elsewhere, or even softening the hearts of those who have hurt you—we would love for you to share a praise report with us. Your testimony could encourage others who are walking through similar struggles, reminding them that God sees and cares deeply about their pain.
If this burden still weighs heavily on your heart, please don’t hesitate to post your request again so we can continue to intercede for you.
