Christian community

Dhitlor

Good and Faithful Servant
Please, please, PLEASE pray that God will lead me to a different Christian community than the one that I have been involved in for the past few years. I have many differing views from this community especially when it comes to things like politics and racism. This community also has a deep problem with pride and arrogance and other issues that it is somehow extremely blinded by. I have been yearning for a long time for God to lead me out of this community and into a different one because although it has really blessed my life and faith, it has also left harmful scars. I feel I cannot handle another minute involved in this community. Please pray God will lead me to a different one. PLEASE. Please also pray for me to hold it together because my current church is connected to this community and I am so unhappy with being connected to this community in any way. Pray that I will not appear as visibly upset as I actually am at church. Thank you.

We hear your heart and the deep burden you carry, and we lift this heavy weight before the Lord together in Jesus’ name. The pain of being in a Christian community where pride, arrogance, and blindness have taken root is real, and it grieves the Holy Spirit when the body of Christ fails to reflect the humility, love, and unity that Jesus prayed for in John 17:20-23. You are not wrong to long for a place where truth is spoken in love, where politics and division do not overshadow the gospel, and where the fruit of the Spirit is evident rather than the works of the flesh. The scars you carry are not unseen by God—He collects every tear in His bottle (Psalm 56:8) and promises to lead you beside still waters (Psalm 23:2).

First, we must rebuke the spirit of pride and division that has taken hold in this community. Scripture warns us clearly: *"God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble"* (James 4:6). When a church or Christian group becomes more known for its political alliances or cultural battles than for the love of Christ, it has strayed from its first calling. We pray that the Lord would expose the blindness in this community and bring conviction where it is needed, but we also recognize that you cannot wait for their repentance to find your own peace. Your desire to leave is not rebellion—it is wisdom. Proverbs 13:20 tells us, *"He who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm."* You have already endured harm, and it is time to walk in the path God has for you.

We also lift up your struggle to remain composed in this environment. The frustration and sorrow you feel are valid, but we pray that the Lord would guard your heart and your tongue. Colossians 4:6 reminds us, *"Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one."* Even in your pain, may your words and demeanor reflect Christ, not the bitterness that could take root. We ask the Holy Spirit to fill you with supernatural peace, so that even if your heart is heavy, your outward witness remains steadfast and gentle.

Most of all, we pray for God’s clear leading to a new community—one that preaches the uncompromised gospel, where the Word of God is central, and where love covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8). May He open doors to a church family that will sharpen you, encourage you, and walk with you in humility. Psalm 32:8 promises, *"I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you."* Trust that He is already preparing the place He has for you. In the meantime, we pray for divine appointments—believers outside your current circle who can speak truth and life into you, even if it’s just one or two faithful friends for now.

Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the Head of the Church. We ask You to break the chains of pride and division in this community our brother/sister has described. Expose the lies, humble the hearts, and bring repentance where it is needed. But Lord, we also ask that You would release him/her from this place with Your peace. Lead him/her to a new spiritual family where Your name is exalted, Your Word is honored, and Your love is lived out. Give him/her strength to endure the remaining time with grace, and guard his/her heart from bitterness or resentment. Open doors no man can shut, and let him/her hear Your voice clearly in this transition. We trust You to complete the work You have begun, for Your glory and for his/her good. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Hold fast to the truth that your worth is not found in any Christian community—it is found in Christ alone. Even if you walk through a season of loneliness, remember that Jesus Himself was rejected by the religious establishment of His day (John 1:11). You are not alone in this. The Lord is your Shepherd, and He will not leave you without a flock. Keep seeking Him, keep praying, and keep your eyes open for the new thing He is doing. The enemy would love to use this pain to drive you away from the Church entirely, but we encourage you to press into the Lord even as you step away from this particular community. His body is vast, and there are faithful believers who are waiting to welcome you with open arms. Until then, we stand with you in prayer and in the hope of what God will do.

We're right there with you, friend. We've felt the sting of pride and division in communities that should be beacons of love and unity. It's tough, we know, but remember, God sees your tears and hears your cries. He's not surprised by the pain you're feeling, and He's already preparing a new place for you.

We join you in praying for a fresh move of God in your current community. May the Spirit of the Lord convict hearts and bring repentance where it's needed. But we also pray for your peace and release. You've been hurt, and it's okay to step away for your own healing. God will guide you to a new community where His love is truly lived out.

In the meantime, let's ask for grace to hold it together. It's okay to feel frustrated, but let's strive to keep our words and actions seasoned with grace and salt. Let's trust that God will fill us with supernatural peace, even in the midst of our pain.

And hey, don't forget, your worth is not defined by any community. You are a child of God, loved and cherished. Keep seeking Him, keep praying, and keep your eyes open for the new thing He's doing. There are faithful believers out there waiting to welcome you with open arms. You're not alone in this. We're standing with you in prayer, friend.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
