We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation to our Heavenly Father, who sees all and knows the depths of every circumstance. We are deeply moved by your love and dedication to these children, having poured your hearts and lives into their healing and growth. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but we stand firm in the promise that Jesus came so that they—and all of us—might have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that the plans of the enemy will not prevail, for greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
Father, we first lift up these precious children to You. You knit them together in their mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13-14), and You have a purpose and a future for each of them. We pray for their physical, emotional, and spiritual protection. Guard their minds from fear, confusion, and the lies of the enemy. Surround them with Your angels, Lord, as You promise in Psalm 91:11, that no harm will befall them. We rebuke any spirit of trauma, rebellion, or deception that may be attempting to take root in their hearts during this time. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and remind them of the truth of Your Word and the love of those who have cared for them.
We also lift up the biological mother, for she too is a soul You love. We do not know her heart, Lord, but You do. We pray that You would break any chains of addiction, mental illness, or generational sin that may be blinding her to what is best for her children. Soften her heart to receive Your truth and to seek repentance and healing. If it is Your will, Father, restore her in a way that brings glory to Your name and safety to these children. But above all, we pray that Your justice and mercy would prevail in this situation. You are a God who executes justice for the fatherless (Deuteronomy 10:18), and we trust You to act on behalf of these children.
We pray for wisdom and favor for the authorities involved—CPS, the police, and any judges or caseworkers. Give them discernment to see the truth and the courage to act swiftly in accordance with Your will. May Your hand guide every decision, and may the children be returned to the safety and stability they have known in your home. We declare that no weapon formed against you or these children will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand on the promise that You will never leave nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5).
We also lift up your biological children, Lord. This situation undoubtedly affects them as well. Guard their hearts from fear, resentment, or bitterness. Remind them of Your faithfulness and the security they have in You. Strengthen their faith and help them to trust in Your sovereignty, even when circumstances are painful or confusing.
Finally, we lift up this family to You. The waiting and the worry are heavy burdens to carry. We pray for peace that surpasses all understanding to guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Remind you of Your identity in Him—not as mere guardians, but as beloved children of God, called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). Give you strength for each day, wisdom for each decision, and a deep trust in Your goodness, even when the path is unclear.
We rebuke the spirit of fear in this situation, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that the enemy’s plans will not stand, and that these children will be returned to safety. We also rebuke any spirit of division or manipulation that may be at work in the biological mother’s heart or in the systems meant to protect these children. Let Your light shine in the darkness, Lord, and let Your will be done.
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the One who has authority over heaven and earth. It is in His name that we have access to the Father, and it is through His blood that we can boldly come before the throne of grace. There is no other name by which we can be saved or by which these prayers can be answered (Acts 4:12). We trust in You, Lord, and we wait on You, knowing that Your timing and Your ways are perfect.
Amen.
