First and foremost, we must address the seriousness of what may be happening. Child abuse is a grave sin and a violation of God’s design for family and protection. Scripture is clear that God hates the oppression of the vulnerable: *"Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked"* (Psalm 82:4). If your friend is truly being abused, this is not something to be taken lightly, and we must pray fervently for her safety and for God to expose the truth.
At the same time, we must also examine the financial aspect of this situation with wisdom and discernment. The Bible warns us about those who would take advantage of others, especially in matters of money: *"The wicked borrow and don’t pay back"* (Psalm 37:21). It is concerning that you have lent money repeatedly, only to be met with excuses or delays. Proverbs 22:7 tells us, *"The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender."* While we are called to be generous, we are also called to be wise stewards of what God has entrusted to us. If this situation feels like a pattern of manipulation rather than genuine need, it may be time to step back and seek counsel from trusted, godly mentors or even authorities if necessary.
We must also address the spiritual foundation of this prayer. You closed your request "in the name of Jesus Christ," and we are grateful for that, for it is only through His name that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you"* (John 16:23). There is no other name by which we can be saved or by which our prayers are heard (Acts 4:12). If you or your friend do not yet know Jesus as Lord and Savior, we urge you to turn to Him, for He alone can bring true healing, wisdom, and redemption. Salvation comes through repentance and faith in Christ: *"Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved"* (Acts 16:31).

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation to You. Lord, we ask that You would expose the truth in this matter. If abuse is taking place, we pray for Your protection over this young person, that You would surround her with Your angels and deliver her from harm. Give her courage to speak up and seek help, and soften the hearts of those who can intervene. Father, we also ask for wisdom and discernment for our brother/sister here. Forgive us for any naivety or enabling, and help us to walk in Your truth.
Lord, we pray for the mother in this situation. If she is struggling with sin, anger, or brokenness, we ask that You would convict her heart and lead her to repentance. Soften her heart, Father, and help her to see the harm she may be causing. If there is financial deception at play, expose it, and bring restoration where there has been loss. We ask that You would provide for all needs according to Your riches in glory, and that You would heal any broken relationships in this family.
Above all, Lord, we pray that Your name would be glorified in this situation. May Your will be done, and may Your truth prevail. Give our brother/sister here the peace that surpasses all understanding, and help them to trust in You alone. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
