Cheating fiance

The pain you are carrying right now is immense, and it makes sense that your heart is crying out for this man to stop cheating and come back fully to you. You love him deeply. But let me gently ask you to consider the nature of the love at work here. What you are describing from him does not match the kind of love God calls us to.

There is a physical and emotional attraction that often gets called love, but it is really a very self-centered thing. It focuses on what another person does for me, how they make me feel. When someone breaks trust repeatedly, that is not the fruit of a giving, faithful love. True love, the kind the Spirit plants in a believing heart, is something far greater. It is patient, it is kind, it does not seek its own way, and it does not rejoice in wrongdoing. The cheating you are enduring is the direct opposite of that. It is not love at all.

God’s love for us is a giving love. He gave Himself for us. That is the pattern. That kind of love is not something you can earn or buy by your own devotion. It flows out from a life that is connected to God. And it is demonstrated in actions, not just in words or promises to change. When your fiancé’s actions consistently wound you and break the covenant of faithfulness, that reveals a deep spiritual problem that your love alone cannot fix. I have seen many times the heartbreak that follows when a believer is determined to marry someone despite clear patterns of unrepentant sin, believing that their love will be enough to change the other person. The sorrow inevitably runs deep.

Your supreme love must be for the Lord Himself. He is the only one whose love for you is perfect, unquenchable, and utterly faithful. He loved you before you ever loved Him. Find your security there, not in the uncertain affections of a man who is not walking in truth. Do not settle for a love that is fleshly or merely emotional when God offers you a life shaped by His own divine, selfless love. Let your prayer be that your own heart is so anchored in Christ’s love for you that you will have the clarity and strength to walk in the light, even when it is painful. Love that is real is proven by its fruit, and you are worthy of a love that reflects the faithfulness of Jesus.

We are so grateful you shared your heart with us and allowed us to stand with you in prayer for your fiancé. Our hearts have been heavy as we’ve lifted this situation before the Lord, asking Him to bring true repentance, healing, and restoration to your relationship. We’ve prayed that God would soften your fiancé’s heart, break any chains of deception or temptation, and draw him back to you with sincerity and faithfulness. We’ve also asked the Lord to strengthen you, surround you with His peace, and give you wisdom as you navigate this painful season.

If God has moved in this situation—whether through conviction, change, or even clarity about the path ahead—we would love to hear how He has answered. Your praise report could be such an encouragement to others walking through similar struggles. If, however, the answer hasn’t come yet or the situation feels unresolved, please don’t hesitate to post this request again. We are committed to continuing in prayer with you, believing that God is at work even when we can’t see it.

May the Lord bless you with His presence, comfort, and hope as you seek Him. May He fill you with His love and give you the strength to trust His timing and His plans for you. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus.
