Disciple of Prayer
Dear lord, my name is ###. I pray that I get own car and a place to stay soon in Jesus name. I'm tired of living under my wife's control. I pray for a good high paying job soon. I have my priesthood. I'm tired of being under my wifes control. I pray that I thrive in you. I pray that I don't end up going to the homeless shelter. ### said that she think her job is going to cut her hours at work. I don't have any income. I pray that I get a job soon. My bus pass expires on the 20th. My phone bill due on the 21st. Its getting close time for me to get my hair done. We don't have any food. I ask that you provide the money for all this. Where will I get a job? What will I be doing? When do I start? I ask that you reveal all this in Jesus name. I pray that you move and shift in my life right now In Jesus' name, amen

We hear your cry for help, and our hearts go out to you in this time of struggle. You are facing very real and pressing needs, provision, employment, stability, and dignity. We stand with you in prayer, believing that God sees your situation and is already at work. The Bible assures us, "The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous, and his ears are open to their cry" (Psalm 34:15). You are not forgotten.

First, we must address the matter of your marriage. Scripture is clear that marriage is a covenant between a man and a woman, designed by God to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). While it is natural to feel frustrated or overwhelmed when facing challenges, the Bible calls husbands to love their wives sacrificially, just as Christ loved the Church, and wives to respect their husbands (Ephesians 5:25, 33). It is not God’s design for one spouse to "control" the other, but rather for both to submit to one another out of reverence for Christ (Ephesians 5:21). We encourage you to seek godly counsel, perhaps from a pastor or a mature Christian couple, to help navigate these tensions in a way that honors God and strengthens your marriage. Prayerfully consider whether pride, bitterness, or unforgiveness may be hindering the unity God desires for you and your wife.

We also want to gently remind you that your identity and worth are found in Christ, not in your circumstances or even your role as a provider. You mentioned having your "priesthood," and we rejoice that you are a believer in Jesus Christ. This is your greatest treasure! The Bible says, "But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well" (Matthew 6:33). Your primary calling is to walk closely with the Lord, trusting Him to guide your steps. He promises to supply all your needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19), but He often works through practical steps of faith, such as diligently seeking employment, managing resources wisely, and humbly accepting help when it is offered.

Your immediate needs are very real, and we take them seriously. We pray that God would open doors for employment quickly, providing a job that not only meets your financial needs but also aligns with your skills and honors Him. "Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will make your righteousness shine out like light, and the justice of your cause like the noonday sun" (Psalm 37:5-6). We also pray for provision for your bus pass, phone bill, haircut, and most urgently, food for your household. The Lord is our Shepherd, and He promises that we will not lack (Psalm 23:1). If you have not already, we encourage you to reach out to your local church or a Christian ministry for practical assistance. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and there is no shame in asking for help when you need it.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother who is crying out for Your intervention. Lord, You see his needs, his lack of employment, his financial struggles, and the tension in his marriage. We ask that You would move mightily on his behalf, opening doors for a job that provides for his family and restores his dignity. Father, we pray for provision for his bus pass, phone bill, and food, trusting that You are Jehovah-Jireh, our Provider. Soften his heart and his wife’s heart, Lord, that they may seek You together and find unity in Your love. Guard him against discouragement, pride, or resentment, and fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Remind him daily of his identity in Christ and the hope he has in You. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above all names, the only name by which we are saved and have access to You. Amen.

In the meantime, we encourage you to take practical steps while trusting God. Update your resume, apply for jobs daily, and consider temporary or part-time work if full-time employment is not immediately available. Reach out to your church or community resources for assistance with food and other urgent needs. Most importantly, draw near to God in prayer and His Word. "Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved" (Psalm 55:22). You are not alone, and we believe God is working even now to bring about His good purposes in your life.

We hear the weight in your words,, the pile-up of bills, the job search, the tension at home, and that deep fear of losing your footing altogether. When so many needs press in at once, it’s easy to feel as if the walls are closing in. We’re walking with you in this.

One thing that often helps in a season like job loss is realizing that the frustration and weariness you’re feeling aren’t a sign of failure, they’re part of a normal path many people travel. Unemployment can move through stages: shock, anger, flurries of hopeful effort, then a draining fatigue when doors keep shutting. Naming that can take some of the shame out of the struggle and let you breathe. You’re not weak; you’re carrying a very heavy load right now.

With that in mind, two practical things may steady the ground under your feet. First, for the immediate needs, food, the phone bill, the bus pass, reach out to a local church or community food bank. Many congregations have benevolence funds or know exactly where to point you for help with a bill or a bag of groceries. You don’t need to handle this all alone. Second, seek out a church that runs a job-seeker support group or a men’s fellowship where you can talk openly about the hunt for work. Peer support makes a real difference, it gives you a place to process the discouragement, share leads, and pray together instead of wrestling in isolation.

We’re asking the Lord to open a clear door for you.

Father, You see, every bill, every worry, every prayer he’s whispered. Please provide what he needs this week: food for the table, funds for the phone and the bus pass, and a safe place to stay. Open a job that fits his skills and his ###, and give him unmistakable direction about where and when to step. Calm the fear of homelessness, and guard his heart and his marriage during this pressure. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You cry out for a car, a place, a job, money for bread and bus fare, and you fear the shelter’s door. Listen now: your question of dread, “Will the Almighty plead against me with his great power, leaving me destitute?”, receives the answer of faith. No. That power which once seemed your terror and fear becomes your refuge and hope, for he will put that very strength in you. The God who thundered from the whirlwind to humble Job has heard you, and though you are brought low, he has not cast you off. Your extremity is his opportunity. He who piled the heavens and sustains the pillars of the earth will not forget his child. He says to you today, “Fear not, thou worm; I will help thee.” Why should you fear? Fear weakens the hands that would labor and clouds the eyes that would see his deliverance. Disobey that cowardly whisper by fixing your gaze upon the faithful Promiser.

Yet I must speak plainly. You say you are tired of being under your wife’s control. Take heed, for here the heart is most likely to sin or charge God foolishly. Job, in all his grief, did not speak unworthily of the Lord’s ordering of his household. Your priesthood is not a badge of escape but a call to lay down your life in love, as Christ for the church. Have you wept for your wife, even as Job wept for the poor and troubled? Have you prayed for her, even as Job prayed for his offending friends, and in so praying, found his own captivity turned? The desire to flee hardship rather than to sanctify it through holy endurance is a snare. I fear we do our best to rob ourselves of all life and freshness when we murmur against the very instruments of our refining. Repent, then, of that bitter root; let your tears fall with mine, for I, too, have in times of anguish charged God foolishly when my little trials were nothing to Job’s. Confess your own weakness and seek grace to honor God by abiding confidence, the same confidence that made Job glorify him in misery.

As for daily bread, the Lord who turned Job’s captivity will not let you go empty. Your bus pass, your phone, your hair, these are known to him. Yet he would first have you seek his kingdom and righteousness, for he knows what you need. Go now, and pray for your friends, and especially for your wife; then expect his mercy. He may answer with a quiet job that comes by a word, a door opened by a neighbour, a provision that drops like dew. The night shall not hang its darkness forever; the sun shall arise with healing beneath his wings. Only do not prescribe to God when or how he must move, for that is but another form of fear. Faith sings on the dunghill, “Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him.” Trust him for income, trust him for shelter, trust him for every bill. The arm that piled the heavens is not shortened. Live upon his all-sufficiency, and though you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, or the shadow of the shelter, you need fear no evil, for he is with you. Go now, fear not, and sin not by charging him with negligence. He will put strength in you.

You speak of control, of urgent needs for car and shelter and income, as if these were the sum of your trial. But consider: is it not rather your soul that groans under a heavier weight? For when our Lord was pressed by the disciples in their want, they thought only of loaves in a wilderness, not perceiving that He who fed the multitudes with little was training them to entreat Him. So now, your bus pass, your phone bill, your hair, these are the loaves. And Christ delays, not from neglect, but to draw from you a more earnest plea, that you might learn to say, “Even if He slay me, yet will I trust Him.”

You say you are tired of living under your wife’s control. But is marriage then a snare? How can it be honorable, if it so hinders? Yet it is possible, yea very possible, even if we have wives, to pursue after virtue, if we will. How? If having wives, we be as though we had none; if we rejoice not over our possessions, if we use the world as not abusing it. Your priesthood is not a shield from this, but a greater reason to bear all things with patience, showing yourself an example of Him who, being reviled, reviled not again. You flee from your wife as from an enemy, but even enemies are reconciled by the Only-begotten, who cast himself between, receiving stripes for us. Will you not endure a harsh word, when the Word endured the Cross?

You fear the homeless shelter, you hunger for food. Yet others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, bonds and imprisonment, and they endured, looking to a better country. Their distress was from the same cause, the cause of Christ, but your present anxiety springs from love of this life. He is urgent to remove you from such cares, insisting that your life is hid with Christ in God. When shall you truly live? When Christ shall be manifested, who is your life. Then seek glory, then enjoyment.

Do not despise the rod that strikes you. The Canaanite woman cried out, and Christ answered her with sharpness, calling her a dog, yet she pressed on, and her daughter was healed. So now, if your wife’s words seem to bite, receive them as His silence first, then His word. In your zeal, you think to escape, but that zeal may not be according to knowledge. You once, perhaps, were zealous for the traditions of men; now be zealous for love, which suffers long and is kind.

Where will you get a job? What will you be doing? When do you start? Cease these restless questions. Did Paul demand to know the hour of his deliverance? Even when they stoned him, he rose and went on. You have been given the priesthood, a high calling. Live worthy of it. Let your mercifulness be abundant: if you see another in distress, weep, sigh, speak, give what you can. And in your own want, remember that you were an enemy to God, and He reconciled you. Therefore, trust Him for these small things. Your life is not here; it is seated above. Seek first the kingdom, and He will add the rest. Not as the world gives, but as it pleases Him. So let your prayer be not for a car, but for a contrite heart; not merely for a place to stay, but for a mansion among the saints. And if you must suffer need a little longer, rejoice that you are counted worthy to share the poverty of Christ.
