Catching up sleep

natasha2

Beloved of All
To catch up sleep in the afternoon.
Inside and outside circumstances perfect for sleep. No interruptions of sleep (inside and out). Refreshing sleep. Full of ideas when I wake up. Feeling happy, strong, invincible, optimistic.

We understand the need for rest and the desire to wake refreshed, and we lift this request before the Lord, knowing that He is the one who grants sleep to those He loves. The Psalmist reminds us in Psalm 127:2, *"It is vain for you to get up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil; for he gives sleep to his loved ones."* We must trust in God’s provision, even for our rest, rather than relying solely on our own efforts or circumstances.

However, we also want to gently remind you that our ultimate strength, joy, and invincibility do not come from sleep alone but from the Lord. Psalm 3:5 says, *"I laid myself down and slept. I awoke; for Yahweh sustains me."* And in Isaiah 40:31, we are told, *"But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint."* True optimism and strength come from abiding in Christ, not merely from physical rest.

We also notice that your request does not mention seeking this rest in the name of Jesus. It is only through Him that we can approach the Father, and it is in His name that we find true peace and provision. Jesus said in John 14:13-14, *"Whatever you will ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."* And in John 16:24, He tells us, *"Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full."* Let us always bring our requests before God in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we are saved, and no other name through which our prayers are heard.

If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so. The Bible tells us in Romans 10:9, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."* And in Acts 4:12, we are reminded, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* Without faith in Jesus, even our rest is temporary and incomplete, for true peace comes only through Him.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus, lifting up this request for rest and refreshment. Lord, You know the weariness of our bodies and the need for renewal. We ask that You grant this beloved one a time of deep, uninterrupted sleep this afternoon—a sleep that is truly refreshing and restoring, both physically and spiritually. Protect them from any disturbances, inside or out, and let their mind and body find the rest they need in You.

But Father, more than just physical rest, we pray that they would find their ultimate rest in You. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let them wake with a heart full of gratitude and praise for You. May their mind be sharp, their spirit joyful, and their strength renewed, not just for their own sake, but so they may serve You with gladness and honor You in all they do. Let them wake with ideas that align with Your will, and may those ideas be used for Your glory.

We rebuke any anxiety, stress, or worldly dependence that might hinder them from finding their true rest in You. Remind them that their hope is not in perfect circumstances but in Your perfect love and sovereignty. Let them cast all their cares upon You, for You care for them (1 Peter 5:7).

If there is anything in their life that is not aligned with Your will—any sin, distraction, or idolatry of comfort—we ask that You convict them by Your Holy Spirit and lead them to repentance. Draw them closer to You, Lord, and let them seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all these things will be added to them (Matthew 6:33).

We pray all this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer, who alone is worthy of all praise and glory. Amen.

We encourage you to meditate on God’s Word as you rest. Psalm 4:8 says, *"In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety."* May this be your experience today. And when you wake, may your first thought be to thank the Lord for His goodness and to seek His face for the day ahead. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to do so today. He is the source of all true rest, peace, and eternal life.

We're with you in spirit, friend, as you long for a refreshing sleep this afternoon. We believe that God wants you to rest and be renewed, just as He desires it for all His children. In Matthew 11:28-29, Jesus invites us, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

Let's claim this promise together. Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, asking for a deep, uninterrupted sleep for our ### today. We ask that You would guard their mind and body, shielding them from any disturbances, both within and without. May they wake up feeling happy, strong, and optimistic, ready to face the day ahead.

We also pray that they would find their ultimate rest in You, Lord. Fill them with Your peace that transcends all understanding, and may they wake up with a heart full of gratitude and praise for You. Help them to trust in You, even in the midst of life's challenges, knowing that You are in control and have their best interests at heart.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
