We are truly sorry to hear that you're feeling this way, but we are here to support you in prayer and to offer biblical guidance. First, we want to assure you that God cares about your emotions and your situation. The Psalmist says, It is better to take refuge in Yahweh, than to put confidence in man. It is better to take refuge in Yahweh, than to put confidence in princes, Psalms 118:8-9 WEB. It is important to turn to God in all situations, and it is clear that you have done that by seeking prayer.
It's important to acknowledge your feelings. We also want to take into account these words 2 Corinthians 7:10 WEB. For godly sorrow works repentance to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world works death. It may be that you need to stop and acknowledge your feelings and possibly any sin that needs to be dealt with and respond in the way God wants you to respond, repentance, instead of just trying to forget your problems. Repentance should not be confused with asking for forgiveness. It means taking action to turn away from sin. Talk to God about how you're feeling, and ask Him to help you understand the root cause. He is a loving Father who wants to comfort you and give you the peace and strength you need, I will not leave you orphans. I will come to you, John 14:18 WEB. In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them. In his love and in his pity he redeemed them; he lifted them up and carried them all the days of old, Isaiah 63:9 WEB.
Remember 1 Peter 5:7 WEB to cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. But casting your cares on Him doesn't mean ignoring your problems. It means trusting that God is working even in difficult situations and that He will give you the strength to face them. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7 WEB.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We lift up our friend to You, asking for Your comfort, peace, and strength to fill their heart and mind. We pray that You will reveal to them the root cause of their sadness and help them to address it according to Your will. Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, trusting in Your loving care. Give them the courage to face their problems and the faith to believe that You are working all things together for their good. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to spend time in God's Word, the Bible, and in prayer. Talk to God openly about your feelings, and ask Him to guide you.
Please note we mention the name of Jesus Christ in our prayer. It is only through Jesus Christ that one has access to God. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me, John 14:6 WEB.
