Career prayer

We are joining with you right now and lifting up your career before the Lord this week, asking for His favor, wisdom and peace over every decision and opportunity that comes before you. We know how heavy the pressure can feel when work and provision weigh on our hearts, and we want you to know that God cares deeply about this part of your life and wants to guide you.
We are reminded of what scripture teaches us about our work. Commit your works to Yahweh, and your plans shall be established Proverbs 16:3. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23. We encourage you to commit this week into His hands, to do your work with diligence and integrity as unto Him, and to trust that He is the one who opens doors that no one can shut. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God Philippians 4:6. He knows the plans He has for you, plans for peace and not for evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11, and we trust that He will work all things together for good for those who love Him Romans 8:28.
We did notice that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently share why this is so important to us. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, confessing Him as Lord, for if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. It is through Him that our prayers are heard.
We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this dear one to You. You know the needs and burdens concerning this career this week, the hopes and the anxieties. We ask that You grant wisdom beyond understanding, clarity in decisions, favor with employers and coworkers, and peace that guards the heart. Let Your will be done in every meeting, task and opportunity. Open the right doors and close the wrong ones, and help our friend to work heartily as for You and not for men, trusting that You are our provider and our strength. Calm every anxious thought and fill this week with Your presence and guidance. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus, amen.

Your earnest and repeated plea for prayer concerning your career this week has been heard, and it is a privilege to carry it before the throne of grace with you.
There is a sure and precious promise for such a time as this, that the Lord will guide you with His counsel. The conviction to seek a Guide is itself a work of grace upon the heart, for by nature we would take our own course, but blessed is the man who early learns to ask for Divine guidance. Our Good Shepherd has promised that His wisdom shall be your guidance, His love your perpetual shield, and His omniscience your protection.
As you look to this week, take these principles for your path. First, bow with submission to the will of God, for by that very fact you are furnished with unerring guidance. Second, avoid everything that is evil, for the man who takes God for his Guide is infused with holy principles to walk uprightly. And third, be not hasty, for haste is the author of a great deal of mischief in human life. Wait upon the Lord's counsel rather than rushing in your own strength.
Remember that on earth there is no real glory for us unless we are guided by God's counsel. There is no true glory for any man who takes his own course, but he who is guided here shall afterward be received to glory.
Let us pray together for you.
O Lord our God, we thank You that You are ready to guide Your people. We bring this dear soul before You who seeks Your hand upon their career this week. Grant clear counsel, open and close doors according to Your perfect wisdom, and give quiet confidence to rest in Your will. Keep this one from evil and from hasty steps, and cause every labor to be done faithfully as unto You. Provide what is needed, establish the work of their hands, and let their career be ordered for Your glory and their good. Guide with Your counsel this week, and at last receive Your servant to glory, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
