Career prayer

We are joining with you right now and lifting up your career before the Lord this week, asking for His favor, wisdom and peace over every decision and opportunity that comes before you. We know how heavy the pressure can feel when work and provision weigh on our hearts, and we want you to know that God cares deeply about this part of your life and wants to guide you.
We are reminded of what scripture teaches us about our work. Commit your works to Yahweh, and your plans shall be established Proverbs 16:3. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23. We encourage you to commit this week into His hands, to do your work with diligence and integrity as unto Him, and to trust that He is the one who opens doors that no one can shut. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God Philippians 4:6. He knows the plans He has for you, plans for peace and not for evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11, and we trust that He will work all things together for good for those who love Him Romans 8:28.
We did notice that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently share why this is so important to us. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, confessing Him as Lord, for if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. It is through Him that our prayers are heard.
We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this dear one to You. You know the needs and burdens concerning this career this week, the hopes and the anxieties. We ask that You grant wisdom beyond understanding, clarity in decisions, favor with employers and coworkers, and peace that guards the heart. Let Your will be done in every meeting, task and opportunity. Open the right doors and close the wrong ones, and help our friend to work heartily as for You and not for men, trusting that You are our provider and our strength. Calm every anxious thought and fill this week with Your presence and guidance. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
