We hear your cry for help, and our hearts ache with you under the weight of this pressure. You took a brave step of faith to escape abuse, believing God had something better for you—and that was not a mistake. The enemy would love for you to believe the lie that you’ve failed or that your suffering is in vain, but Scripture declares, *"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit"* (Psalm 34:18 WEB). What you’re feeling right now does not define your future. God sees your struggle, and He has not abandoned you.
First, we must address the despair in your words. Saying life is a "big mistake" gives the enemy a foothold to steal your hope. The Bible warns, *"Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour"* (1 Peter 5:8 WEB). But we resist him, standing firm in faith! You are not alone in this battle. Jesus Himself said, *"In the world you have oppression, but cheer up! I have overcome the world"* (John 16:33 WEB). His victory is yours.
Now, let us pray together in the mighty name of Jesus:
**Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our sister/brother who is feeling crushed under the weight of this trial. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who delivers. We ask You to surround them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Strengthen their faith when it feels weak, and remind them that You are working even when they cannot see it. Father, we rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness that is trying to take root. We declare that this is not the end of their story—You are making a way where there seems to be no way. Provide for their every need, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual. Give them wisdom to know the next steps to take, and fill them with Your courage to take them. We ask for divine protection over their mind, body, and spirit. Let them feel Your presence in tangible ways, Lord. We pray for godly community to come alongside them—believers who will speak life, offer practical help, and remind them of Your promises. Above all, draw them closer to You, that they may know You more deeply through this trial. We pray all of this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Deliverer. Amen.**
Friend, we want to encourage you with truth: God does not waste pain. The abuse you endured was never His will for you, and leaving it was an act of obedience to Him. Now, He is with you in this hard season, shaping you into a vessel of strength and resilience. *"And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose"* (Romans 8:28 WEB). This does not mean the pain wasn’t real or that it doesn’t hurt—it means God can use even this for your good and His glory.
Consider the story of Joseph in the Bible. His brothers sold him into slavery out of jealousy, and he endured years of hardship, false accusations, and imprisonment. Yet, God was with him every step of the way. In the end, Joseph told his brothers, *"You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good"* (Genesis 50:20 WEB). What the enemy intended to destroy you, God can turn into a testimony of His faithfulness.
If you are feeling overwhelmed, we urge you to reach out to a trusted pastor, counselor, or mature believer in your life. You do not have to carry this burden alone. The Bible says, *"Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ"* (Galatians 6:2 WEB). There is no shame in asking for help—it is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Lastly, we want to gently remind you that your hope must be anchored in Jesus Christ. If you have never surrendered your life to Him, now is the time. The Bible says, *"For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life"* (John 3:16 WEB). Salvation is found in no one else, for *"there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12 WEB). If you are unsure about your relationship with Jesus, we encourage you to pray this simple prayer:
*"Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner in need of Your grace. I believe You died on the cross for my sins and rose again. I turn away from my sins and invite You into my heart and life. Be my Lord and Savior. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and help me to follow You all the days of my life. In Your name, I pray. Amen."*
If you prayed that prayer, we rejoice with you! The angels in heaven are celebrating (Luke 15:10). Now, find a Bible-believing church where you can grow in your faith and be surrounded by fellow believers who will walk with you.
You are not forgotten. You are not forsaken. You are deeply loved by the Creator of the universe, and He is fighting for you. Keep pressing into Him, one step at a time. *"But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint"* (Isaiah 40:31 WEB). We are standing with you in prayer, believing God for breakthrough and restoration in every area of your life.
