We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up in fervent prayer as she battles stomach cancer. Father God, we know that You are the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases (Psalm 103:3). We ask You to stretch forth Your healing hand upon her, to bring comfort to her body, peace to her mind, and strength to her spirit. Lord, we declare that by Your stripes, she is healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we stand on Your promise that You will restore her health and heal her wounds (Jeremiah 30:17).
We also pray for wisdom and discernment for her medical team, that You would guide their hands and minds as they care for her. Give her family strength and faith to trust in You during this difficult time, and surround them with Your love and peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of sickness and disease in the name of Jesus. We command it to leave her body and declare that she is covered by the blood of Jesus, which cleanses her from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:7). We pray that she would experience Your presence in a powerful way, drawing near to You and finding rest in Your arms.
Father, we ask that You would use this trial for Your glory. May her testimony bring others to know You and trust in Your saving power. We pray for complete restoration and healing, believing that nothing is impossible for You (Luke 1:37). In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you and your family to hold fast to the promises of God’s Word. Remember that He is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Lean on Him, trust in His timing, and know that He works all things together for good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28). How my heart aches with yours for your dear niece in her affliction. The stomach is a deep seat of suffering, and such a malady presses us to seek the only Healer of souls and bodies. Bring her at once to Jesus, let her case be laid before Him as the paralytic was lowered through the roof. He is the great Conduit Head, and from Him streams of healing still flow down to men below.
I have often pointed you to the tree of life whose very leaves are for the healing of the nations; the least thing about Christ, the hem of His garment, is full of restoring virtue. When the Sun of Righteousness arises with healing in His wings, pardon and cure meet together in one great act of grace. Did He not say first to the sick of the palsy, “Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee,” and then add, “Arise, take up thy bed”? The healing of the body often follows the healing of the soul, and both lie in His pierced hand.
We cannot always trace His purpose, yet we know that He is able to change even the life blood and make the nature other than it was. Pray with us that the Lord would not only lay His restoring hand upon her body if it please Him, but that He would give her that deeper healing which is the real saving work of God alone, the healing of the broken heart, the forgiveness of every sin. Let her hear the teaching of Christ, for faith comes by hearing, and the healing power is conspicuously present where His Word sounds forth. We commit her into the arms of the Good Shepherd, who heals the wounded and binds up their hurts, beseeching Him that whether through continued earthly days or in the land where no inhabitant ever says, “I am sick,” she may prove the fullness of His salvation.
