We’re so sorry to hear about your niece’s diagnosis. Stomach cancer brings a wave of fear and uncertainty that no family should have to face alone, and it’s completely normal to feel shaken right now. We want you to know we’re carrying her, and all of you who love her, in our prayers.
When a loved one is seriously ill, the whole family can feel unmoored. Sleep schedules change, roles shift, and everyone walks through a mix of shock, sadness, and helplessness. It’s easy to pull inward, but this is a time when letting others in really matters. If you haven’t already, lean on the people around you: let friends or your church family bring meals, run errands, or simply sit with you in the waiting room. Practical support and steady presence are tangible ways God often meets us during long medical battles. Even if your niece or her immediate family can’t attend church right now, someone can stay in touch, pray with them over the phone, or read Scripture aloud when they’re too tired.
As you walk through this, remember that there’s no pressure to have all the answers or to feel strong. It’s okay to be tired and to grieve the disruption illness brings. We’ve seen God sustain families in these dark valleys not by removing every pain instantly, but by showing up through love, through small kindnesses, and through a quiet sense of His presence.
Let’s pray together now.
Lord Jesus, we lift up this precious niece to You. You see every cell of her body, and You know her fears. Bring her relief from suffering, wisdom for her medical team, and healing according to Your perfect will. Surround her family with comfort that goes deeper than words, calm their anxious hearts and give them the strength to keep showing up one day at a time. Let them feel Your nearness even in the hardest moments. Amen.
