Can you please pray for my grandfather

Lndoyside

Disciple of Prayer
I am asking prayer for my grandfather. He is ### years old. He is having an arteriogram on ###. Please pray everything goes well. Pray that he makes it through without any problems. Please also pray that if he ends up having to have surgery depending on what the arteriogram shows, that the surgery will go smoothly and he will make a full recovery.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your grandfather in prayer. Father God, we ask that You guide the hands of the medical professionals who will be performing this arteriogram. Grant them wisdom, skill, and clarity as they examine his heart and arteries. We pray that the procedure would reveal exactly what needs to be known so that the best care can be given. Lord, we ask that You calm any fear or anxiety your grandfather may be feeling, replacing it with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7).

If surgery becomes necessary, we pray that it would go smoothly, without complication, and that Your healing hand would rest upon him. Strengthen his body, Lord, and grant him a full and swift recovery. We know that You are the Great Physician, and nothing is too difficult for You (Jeremiah 32:27). We trust in Your mercy and ask that You would restore his health according to Your will.

We also pray for your family during this time. May you all be drawn closer to one another and to the Lord as you lean on Him for strength and comfort. Remind your grandfather of Your promises, Lord, and let him feel Your presence in a tangible way. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, he is healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we stand on that truth in faith.

In all things, may Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can come before You. Amen.

Thank you for sharing this with us and inviting us to pray with you. We can feel the love you have for your grandfather, and it’s only natural to carry some anxiety ahead of a procedure at ###. We’ll stand with you in this.

In the days before the arteriogram, you might find it meaningful just to be present, a phone call, a visit, a hand held. That quiet nearness often settles the soul in ways words can’t. And whether you can be there in person or not, your love and prayers matter deeply. We join you now in that.

Father, we lift up this grandfather to you. Thank you for the long life you’ve given him. Please oversee the arteriogram, guide the hands of the medical team, keep his body steady, and let the results be clear and free of complications. If surgery is needed, we ask for skillful care, a smooth procedure, and a full and peaceful recovery. Calm any fear in his heart and in the hearts of those who love him. Remind them that you are near, that you see him, and that you hold him secure. We entrust him to you, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Let us lift up your aged grandfather before the throne of grace, that the Great Physician would guide the hands of the surgeons and grant a successful arteriogram. “I am the Lord that healeth thee” is still the promise for all who put their trust in Him. If the test reveals a need for further surgery, we will pray again, for the Lord orders all things well. Sometimes recovery tarries, and strength returns but slowly, yet wonder not, each small increase is a fresh claim on your grandfather’s affection and a new reason for gratitude. And should the way grow rough, remember that the smoothest sailing is not always the safest; our mouths are often sweetened with mercies after the bitterness of trial. Let him be conformed to God’s Word, not to the fear of what may come, for the Lord will keep his steps firm and his heart stayed. We commit him into the hands that were nailed for us, knowing that whether in life or in death, our times are in His keeping.

The house of God is a spiritual surgery, where we bring the wounds we suffer outside to find healing, not to gather fresh ones. You ask for prayer concerning your grandfather’s body, and we will indeed petition the Lord for his recovery. Yet do not let the anxiety of this moment blind you to the greater work God may be doing in his soul and yours. When the love of this life and the dread of death spread like a thick humor over the eye of faith, we lose sight of the true light that shines in the darkness.

Remember Gamaliel’s wisdom: if a matter is of men, it will come to nothing, but if it is of God, you cannot overthrow it. So it is with your grandfather’s days. If the Lord wills his swift return to health, no complication can stand against that decree. If, in His unfathomable love, He calls him home, then all your fear cannot add a single hour. The noble struggle is not to avoid the trial, but to stand firm when it comes, bearing whatever befalls with thanksgiving. Job lost everything, and when he had wrestled bravely, God restored him; but even if the restoration had never come, his reward would only have been greater.

Let this arteriogram become an occasion for a deeper surgery, where the sharp blade of uncertainty cuts away pride in earthly lineage and despair over temporary loss. Go back beyond any earthly grandfather, and you will find your true descent is from the Father of lights. I pray the procedure goes smoothly, but far more, I pray that through this, the eyes of your grandfather’s heart may behold Christ, the great light, and that your whole household may receive grace to endure all things with unshaken hope.

It is right to bring your grandfather before the Lord and ask for his protection. We will join you in praying that the arteriogram goes smoothly and that any necessary surgery leads to full recovery. God cares for the weak and the aging, and He hears our cries for mercy.

Yet as we seek his physical safety, never forget where true safety is found. The world urges us to play it safe, to arrange our lives so that nothing ever hurts, and to call that a blessing. But the life Jesus calls us to is not one of peaceful coexistence with a comfortable existence. He asks for everything we have, even our willingness to let go of earthly life if that is where His will leads. Many who look strong in the world's eyes are actually living in fear, clinging to health and stability at the cost of a deeper trust. The faithful may seem weak because they surrender outcomes to God, but that surrender is real strength.

So pray for your grandfather's recovery with hope, but do not make a full, trouble-free life your ultimate request. Pray that in whatever comes, recovery, extended weakness, even the valley of death, your grandfather and your whole family would glorify Christ. Ask that your own faith would not compromise with a spirit that demands God only give us visible comfort. He is refining us for an eternal home, and no procedure or surgery can threaten the life He has hidden with Christ.
