Good and Faithful Servant
Please pray that God would provide me with a new job/source of income. I need money urgently. I am leaning in the direction of creating my own business for certain reasons including the fact that I am tired of ending up in jobs where I feel the job responsibilities end up causing me to compromise my Christian values. But I cannot think of what to sell even though there are many things I am capable of doing. Thank you.

We have heard your request and we join with you in bringing this urgent need before our Father, and we commend you for desiring to honor God and not compromise your Christian values in your work. That desire is pleasing to the Lord and we pray He will honor it as you seek His provision.

We understand the pressure of needing money urgently and the uncertainty of not knowing what direction to take or what to sell, even though God has given you many abilities. We are reminded that our God sees your need and cares for you. Philippians 4:19 tells us My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. And Matthew 6:33 reminds us But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. When we put Him first, we can trust Him to provide for our daily needs even while we wait.

We also hear your heart to perhaps create your own business so that you can work in a way that is honest and honors Him. Whatever we do, we are called to do it faithfully unto the Lord. Colossians 3:23 says Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men. Proverbs 16:3 says Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. We encourage you to commit this decision to Him in prayer, to ask for wisdom, and to seek godly counsel from mature believers who know your gifts. James 1:5 promises If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. He can show you how to use the capabilities He has already given you to serve others and provide for yourself with integrity. Proverbs 3:5-6 says Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

We noticed that your request mentions God but does not mention Jesus Christ. We want to gently share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord, that we are saved and can come boldly to God in prayer. Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus alone.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You. You know the urgent financial need and the anxiety that comes with it. We ask that You provide a new job or source of income according to Your will, and that You open doors that no man can shut. Give wisdom and clarity about whether to seek employment or to start a business, and if it is a business, reveal what goods or service to offer that will use the gifts You have given and meet a true need in a way that honors You. Help our friend to not compromise convictions but to walk in integrity, diligence, and faith. Provide for every need, grant peace while waiting, and lead to work that is fruitful, honest, and glorifying to You. We ask that You draw this dear one closer to Jesus and give assurance of salvation through Him. We trust Your goodness and Your timing. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We hear how heavy this feels right now, needing income urgently while also wanting work that lets you live out your faith with a clear conscience. Being tired of feeling pressured to compromise your values is understandable, and wanting to find a better way forward is a good and honest desire.

When you are capable of many things, choosing what to offer can be the hardest part. A business does not automatically remove values tensions, but it can give you more room to shape how you work. It helps to narrow from broad ability to specific need.

One practical next step that often brings clarity is to make two short lists side by side: what you do well and enjoy, and what problems people around you will actually pay to have solved. Then ask two or three trusted people who know your work, a pastor, former employer, or friend, what they would hire you for tomorrow if they could. Their perspective often sees a marketable strength you overlook. While you explore that, if you need income right away, consider interim work that covers essentials, even part time, so the pressure to decide quickly does not force a rushed choice.

We are praying for wisdom and open doors as you seek what is next.

Father, we lift our brother to You and ask for Your provision for his daily needs and Your clear guidance for his work. Give him wisdom to see the gifts You have placed in him, favor with those who can offer good opportunities, and peace as he trusts You step by step. Lead him to work where he can provide honestly and serve You faithfully. In Jesus' name, amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

Your burden has been heard and we have carried it before the Lord with you. You ask for daily bread and for a way to earn it without being forced to do what grieves conscience, and that desire is itself a mark of grace. When God calls a man He calls him with a holy calling, a high calling and a heavenly calling, and that calling must govern not only the Sabbath but the shop and the ledger. To wish to be separate from what defiles, to refuse to serve God and mammon together, is not weakness but obedience.

Scripture teaches that there is a laudable pursuit of gain, without which business would not be properly carried on, but there is a line scarcely broader than a razor's edge between diligence in business and greediness for gain. We can pass from one to the other and hardly be aware of it. The Lord would have you diligent, fervent in business, serving the Lord, yet content with such things as ye have, for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. That promise is the fortune of the Christian man of business. Whether He enlarges your warehouse or keeps it small, whether He opens a shop or opens a door to another honest employment, His presence is your provision.

You feel the pressure of urgent need and at the same time a barrenness of invention, having many abilities but no clear article to offer. This is a place to seek wisdom from above, for if any man lack wisdom let him ask of God who giveth liberally. Ask Him not only for an idea but for discernment to know what is holy, what is high, what lifts the heart to heavenly things rather than chains it to covetousness. A calling that is from heaven will bear the marks of heaven, honesty, usefulness to neighbour, and thankfulness to God.

Therefore we pray for you, and we counsel you to walk in these ways while you wait upon the Lord.

We pray that the Father who knows your need will provide for your daily wants according to His riches in Christ, and keep you from the snare of hasty or dishonest gain. We ask Him to give you clearness of mind to see what gifts He has already placed in your hands, and to show you how those gifts may serve others in a way that is upright and profitable. We ask Him to give you patient diligence, to keep your conscience tender, and to guard you from compromise, that you may not sell your peace for a little more money. We ask Him to lead you to wise and godly counsel, to open a door that no man can shut, whether that be a new position under a just employer or a small business ordered with integrity, and to give you contentment while He makes the way plain.

Continue to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, trusting that all these things shall be added unto you. Keep your hands clean and your heart lifted up. The Lord who called Zacchaeus with an effectual, personal call, saying make haste and come down, is the same Lord who hears the cry for bread today. He will not despise a prayer that desires to honour Him in labour as well as in worship. May He establish the work of your hands and let your high calling in Christ Jesus govern your daily calling among men.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
