We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this request for protection from a bully. The pain and fear caused by such behavior are real, and we stand with you in seeking God’s deliverance and peace. The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18-19, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all." You are not alone in this struggle, and God sees your suffering.
First, we must address the spiritual reality of bullying. It is not merely a physical or emotional issue—it is a matter of the heart, often rooted in pride, insecurity, or even spiritual warfare. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." This bully may be acting out of their own brokenness, but we must also recognize that the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). We rebuke the spirit of intimidation, fear, and oppression in the name of Jesus Christ. We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we command every spirit of bullying to flee in Jesus’ name.
We also encourage you to seek wisdom in how you respond. Romans 12:19-21 instructs, "Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.' Therefore, 'If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.' Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." This does not mean you should tolerate abuse, but it does mean you should not retaliate in sin. Pray for your enemy, that God would soften their heart and reveal His love to them. Matthew 5:44 says, "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you."
We also urge you to seek godly counsel and protection. If this bullying is happening in a school, workplace, or other setting, involve trusted authorities who can intervene. Proverbs 11:14 says, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety." Do not suffer in silence—reach out to those who can help.
Heavenly Father, we come before You now on behalf of this dear one who is facing bullying. Lord, You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We ask that You surround them with Your angels, that no harm would come near them (Psalm 91:11). Give them courage and peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Soften the heart of their bully, Lord, and let Your light shine into their darkness. If there is any unrepentant sin in their life, convict them and draw them to You. We declare that this situation will not break them but will instead draw them closer to You.
Father, we also pray for wisdom for this one who is being bullied. Give them the words to say, the actions to take, and the strength to stand firm in You. Help them to respond in a way that honors You, even in the face of mistreatment. We ask that You would turn this situation around for Your glory, Lord. Let Your name be magnified through this trial.
We also lift up any fear, anxiety, or trauma that this bullying has caused. Heal their heart, Lord, and restore their joy. Remind them that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that their worth is found in You alone. Help them to see themselves through Your eyes, as Your beloved child.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would use this situation to draw them into a deeper relationship with You. Let them experience Your presence in a tangible way, and let them know that You are fighting for them. We trust in Your promise that all things work together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
