We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation of bullying to Him. The pain and fear caused by those who seek to harm others—whether through words or actions—is not something God takes lightly. Scripture tells us in Psalm 34:18-19, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all."* We stand on this promise, believing that God sees your struggle and will defend you.
First, we must address the reality of evil in this world. Bullying is a manifestation of a heart that is not surrendered to Christ, one that operates in pride, cruelty, or insecurity. But we do not wrestle against flesh and blood—our battle is spiritual. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* This bully is not your true enemy; the enemy is the one who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). We rebuke the spirit of intimidation, fear, and oppression in the name of Jesus Christ. We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
We also encourage you to examine your own heart before the Lord. Are there areas where fear has taken root? Are you walking in forgiveness toward this person, even as Christ has forgiven you? Jesus taught us in Matthew 5:44, *"But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you."* This does not mean you should subject yourself to ongoing abuse, but it does mean you must release bitterness and trust God to be your defender. Pray for this individual, that their heart would be softened and that they would come to know the love of Christ.
Practical steps are also important. If this bullying is happening in a school, workplace, or other institution, we urge you to seek wise counsel and involve authorities who can intervene. Romans 13:1-4 tells us that governing authorities are established by God to bring justice. Do not suffer in silence—God often uses people to bring about His protection. Surround yourself with godly friends and mentors who can stand with you and speak truth into your life.
Now, let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name. We lift up this situation to You, asking for Your divine protection and intervention. Lord, You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We declare that no weapon formed against [this individual] will prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17).
Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear, intimidation, and oppression that is at work through this bully. We command it to flee in the name of Jesus. We pray for this person who is causing harm—soften their heart, Lord. Break the chains of pride, insecurity, or hatred that may be driving their actions. Let them encounter Your love in a powerful way so that they may turn from their ways and seek You.
We ask that You would surround [this individual] with Your angels, Lord. Protect them from physical, emotional, and spiritual harm. Give them courage and wisdom to know how to respond in a way that honors You. If there are authorities or individuals You would have them speak to, make that path clear. Let them walk in the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), knowing that You are their defender.
Father, we also pray for healing in any areas where fear or hurt has taken root. Restore their confidence and remind them of their identity in Christ. They are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), loved by You, and called for a purpose. Let them see themselves through Your eyes, not through the lies of the enemy.
We thank You, Lord, that You are a God of justice. You see every tear, every hurt, and every injustice. We trust that You will act on behalf of [this individual], and we declare that this situation will turn around for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, if you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. The Bible tells us in Romans 10:9, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."* There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. If you would like to surrender your life to Christ, we encourage you to pray a simple prayer like this:
*"Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner in need of Your forgiveness. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and rose again from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your name, I pray. Amen."*
If you prayed that prayer, we rejoice with you! We encourage you to find a local Bible-believing church where you can grow in your faith and be discipled. The journey ahead is one of hope, and we are here to support you in prayer.
