Good and Faithful Servant
My boyfriend may have ###. He needs to have a ### done soon (and we thought he'd get it done soon) but he has been scheduled toward the end of the month for it. Please pray that a sooner appointment will open up or that he will be protected until he can get the ### and start treatment. I worry that his doctors are not good. I haven't expressed this to him. He is being stubborn about a lot of things as he navigates this journey. Please pray. I'm so scared. He's already noticing ###. Thank you.

We hear your deep concern and fear for your boyfriend, and we lift this situation before the Lord with heavy hearts. First, we want to acknowledge the weight of what you’re carrying, watching someone you love face health struggles is incredibly difficult, especially when it feels like time is of the essence. We join you in praying for divine intervention regarding his appointment. Heavenly Father, we ask You to open a door for an earlier date, that his procedure would be expedited according to Your perfect timing. We trust in Your promise that "the eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry" (Psalm 34:15). Lord, we also pray for protection over him until that time, guard his body, mind, and spirit from further harm, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, surround him and his loved ones (Philippians 4:7).

We must also gently address the nature of your relationship. Scripture is clear that marriage is the God-ordained covenant between a man and a woman, and any romantic involvement outside of that commitment is not aligned with His design (Hebrews 13:4, 1 Corinthians 6:18-20). We encourage you to prayerfully consider whether this relationship is honoring to the Lord, especially as you navigate this trial together. If your boyfriend does not share your faith in Jesus Christ, this is also a critical moment to reflect on 2 Corinthians 6:14: "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" Your concern for him is understandable, but we urge you to seek God’s will for your own heart and future as well.

Father, we pray for wisdom for his medical team, guide their hands, give them discernment, and let them act with urgency and excellence. If there is negligence or incompetence, expose it and replace it with Your provision. We also ask You to soften his heart to receive godly counsel and surrender his stubbornness to Your will. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6). Lord, we ask for healing, whether through medical intervention or Your miraculous touch, but above all, we pray for salvation. If he does not know You, Jesus, we plead for his soul, that he would turn to You as his Savior and find eternal hope (John 3:16).

You are not alone in this fear, dear sister. We stand with you in prayer, asking the Lord to strengthen your faith and fill you with His peace. If you have not already, we encourage you to seek support from a biblical church community, where you can be surrounded by believers who will uphold you in prayer and truth. May the Lord’s presence be your comfort and His promises your anchor in this storm.

We hear the fear in your words, and we’re sitting with you in it. When someone you love faces a serious illness, the ground feels unsteady, and it’s okay that you’re scared. Your boyfriend’s stubbornness and the waiting are making that weight even heavier, but neither is unusual. When people are blindsided by a health crisis, they often cope by trying to control what little they can, even if it looks like digging in their heels. It doesn’t mean he doesn’t value your care; it may be his way of managing a world that suddenly feels unsafe.

Chronic illness, or the threat of it, affects not just the patient but everyone who loves them. So please give yourself permission to need support, too. Is there a trusted friend, a pastor, or a small group at church where you can be honest about your fears without having to hold it all together? You don’t have to carry this alone, and talking it through can keep fear from growing in isolation. If your practical concerns about his doctors linger, you might gently bring them up later, when there’s more space, but for now, your presence and calm steadiness are a gift to him, even if he can’t express it.

We’re praying that an earlier appointment opens, yes, but also that God’s peace holds you both steady in the meantime. The waiting is hard, but you don’t wait alone.

Lord Jesus, we come before you for this woman and her boyfriend. You see the worry, the unknown, the stubbornness, and the symptoms that are already weighing on them. Please watch over his body and mind. Open a door for timely care, and give his doctors wisdom and clarity. Calm her anxious heart and help her to rest in your presence, not in perfect circumstances. Surround them both with people who will pray and support them practically. And in the middle of this, let them sense your nearness, even in the waiting. We trust you with what we cannot see. Amen.

Let this be a time, then, to yield to the hammer of truth. The delay of that appointment is no reason to let your heart remain in bondage to fear. The world’s pretext for delay is always the same, let the damsel wait a little while, ten days at least, but immediate safety is found in casting yourself wholly upon the promise. Why remain in hunger and fear outside? Enter freely.

Fear not. The precept is absolute and unqualified, we are not to fear at all. Fear is weakening; it dishonors God. Doubt the Eternal, distrust the Omnipotent? O, traitorous fear! Thinkest thou that the arm which piled the heavens, and sustains the pillars of the earth shall ever be palsied because a doctor’s schedule is full? He says to you this very hour, “Fear not; I will help thee.” Why shouldst thou fear? It is not the preacher who cries, “Fear not,” but it is Jesus Himself who whispers to His poor servant, fallen as dead at His feet, “Fear not.”

You have noticed his symptoms, and your mind races to the worst. This fear of death is natural to man as a sinner, but it brings a snare and a bondage that lasts a lifetime unless it is slain by faith. You will find that in proportion as your faith gets stronger, your fear of death will vanish; and as your faith gets weak, fear will come in to take its place. The main way to overcome it is to believe firmly in your Lord.

Look away from the imperfect physicians of the body. There is no protection for those who are in debt to the great Creditor unless you flee to Christ! Hither, when Hell assails, I flee, I look into my Savior’s breast; Away, sad doubt, and anxious fear! Mercy is all that’s written there. Cast both your soul and his stubborn, navigating heart upon the Lord. Fear the Lord and His goodness, a fear that draws you towards God, not a servile dread. The son of the King of kings must not fear the child of sickness. God will help thee. Fear not.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your fear is real, but it must not become your master. I will ask the Lord to open a sooner appointment for him, and until then to keep him safe. But do not let the delay destroy your peace. God is not surprised by waiting rooms or calendars.

If you have doubts about his doctors, do not feed those doubts in secret. Speak honestly to him, but without panic. If there is reason to seek another opinion, ask about it calmly. Prayer for the doctors is also good. God can guide the hands and minds of physicians, even when they seem careless or slow.

You say he is stubborn. Often stubbornness is fear wearing a mask. Do not fight his stubbornness with your own anxiety. Pray for him, speak the truth gently, and leave room for God to work. A man facing illness may resist help because he is trying to hold on to control. That is not unusual. But prayer can soften what argument cannot.

The Apostle Paul did not fear death for himself. He said he was with the Corinthians in weakness and in fear and much trembling, but his fear was for the souls of those he loved. That fear did not make him despair. It sent him to prayer and to urgent warning. Let your fear do the same. Bring it to Christ. Let it drive you to your knees, not into endless imagining. While you wait, examine your own heart. The trial of another person is a mirror. Ask God to show you anything in you that needs repentance, any bitterness, any trust in your own strength. Scripture says, Let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. Fear God more than you fear the report of doctors.

We will pray for his healing, for a timely appointment, for the skill of those who examine him, and for peace for you both. But remember that if the appointment cannot be moved, God is not late. He is with you in the waiting. Use this shaking to draw nearer to the Lord, not to drift into unbelief. May the Lord grant healing to him, wisdom to the doctors, and to you a quiet heart that trusts in His care.

The waiting itself is a hard mercy, and I know it does not feel like mercy right now. Waiting upon God is never empty time. It is where the soul is made steady while the answer is still hidden. The end of the month feels far away, but no delay is outside His sight. Pray for a sooner opening if He wills it, and ask for His protection over every day between now and then; then leave the calendar in His hands.

What I would not want is for fear to become the loudest voice in your decisions. There is a difference between acting wisely and acting from panic. Seeking a second opinion or asking careful questions can be wisdom. Making choices because you are terrified is not. Fear and faith cannot share the same room. When Peter walked on the water, he was safe while his eyes were on Jesus. The moment he looked at the wave and the wind, fear rushed in and faith began to sink. The wave did not change; his gaze did.

The symptoms you see are real, and they are frightening, but they are not the final word. The man you love may be stubborn right now because he is carrying more than he knows how to say. He may be trying to hold on to control when so much feels out of control. You do not have to fix that in him. You can bring your fears to the Father and ask for wisdom about when to speak and when to stay quiet. If you do speak, let it be gentle and full of hope, not loaded with the sharp edge of panic.

Scripture says the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. That is not a cringing terror. It is awe before a God who is strong and good. That holy fear drives out the smaller fear that says God does not see or will not act. You have not received a spirit of bondage again to fear; you have received the Spirit by which you cry, Abba, Father. You are not standing before an indifferent doctor or a cold schedule. You are a child speaking to your Father.

Jesus told His disciples to be like servants watching for their Master, expecting Him, ready to open the door at His knock. That watching is not anxious pacing; it is confident readiness. You can wait the same way, asking for his healing, asking for a sooner appointment, asking for good counsel, and then entrusting him to God. The Lord is your light and your salvation; whom shall you fear? In the time of trouble He hides His own in His pavilion.

I will pray for protection over him until the procedure, for clarity for those treating him, and for peace in your own heart. Let hope do its patient work. What you cannot control is not beyond the reach of the One who holds him.
