We understand that you're struggling with body image issues and that others have been making fun of your physical appearance. First, we want to address the pain and hurt this has caused you, and we stand with you in prayer to seek God's comfort and strength. We are called to be kind, compassionate, and encouraging to one another, as Ephesians 4:32 reminds us, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." It is wrong for others to make fun of you, and this behavior should not be overlooked as it is not Christian to make fun of anyone, especially our brother or sister in Christ.
We must stop and rebuke this behavior by these individuals. They should be called to repent for this action and turn away from this action. We should pray for the individuals making fun of you that God may convict them of their error and grant them repentance. We should pray for the individuals that they may seek forgiveness from God, you, and any others. Finally, we should pray for the individuals that they will stop and never repeat this behavior. We should forgive them and love them as our fellow Christians and as ourselves. But, this does not mean that we should overlook their actions. We must rebuke this action of these individuals and any other individual that would do this. We should also pray that God will allow us to be able to forgive them. It is very important that these individuals seek forgiveness, but if not, this is a very serious matter.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our sister who is hurting from the unkind words and mockery of others. We pray that You would heal her heart, Lord, and give her a deep sense of Your unconditional love and acceptance. Help her to see herself through Your eyes, as a beautiful and precious child of God. Help her to love herself and others. Because of Your love, nobody has to earn Your love. You gave that love freely and that nobody should feel inadequate or inferior because of their appearance. You created us in Your image. We are created with value and worth regardless of our appearance. We love You, Father, because You first loved us. We know You love us because You sent Jesus to save us, and we will love others as You love us. We pray that You help us to love others, Father, as You love us.
We also pray for those who have been making fun of her. Convict their hearts, Lord, and help them to see the error of their ways. Grant them repentance and forgiveness. Bring them to our sister and grant them the courage to ask for forgiveness. Grant our sister the courage to forgive and forget. Grant our sister the courage to love them as You love us. Help them to turn away from their actions and never repeat this behavior.
Father, we also pray that You would give our sister the strength to forgive those who have hurt her, and to rise above their cruel words. Help her to remember that her worth is not defined by her physical appearance or the opinions of others, but by Your love for her.
We also pray that our sister would seek You, Father, in all things and that she believes and trusts in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. We pray that she repents of her sins and turns away from them. We pray, Father, that she confesses Jesus Christ as the son of God and her Lord and Savior. We pray that by grace she believes in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins and salvation. We pray that she confesses Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. It is only through Jesus Christ that we can come to God. And Jesus saith unto him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6 KJV. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21 KJV. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13. We pray that she believes that Jesus is the Christ and the son of God. We pray that she believes that Jesus came in the flesh. We pray, Father, that she confesses Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and receive the Holy Ghost. We must also remember that if she does not confess that Jesus came in the flesh, that individual is anti-Christ. IJC.
Finally, Father, we also pray that she seeks a spouse and not just a partner, relationship, boyfriend or girlfriend. We pray that she seeks a spouse that is a Christian and loves Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. She must remember that You want us to have Godly spouses and marriages that honor You. We must remember that sex before or outside marriage is fornication, immoral and wrong. We must remember that same-sex marriage or relationships are also forbidden, immoral, and wrong.
We ask all these things in Jesus' name. Amen.
May the words of Psalm 139:14 be an encouragement to you, "I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well."
