Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for me as I prepare to take the Physician Licensure Examination this October. This will be my first board exam, and I am feeling both excited and nervous. Because I still have hospital duties, I have not been able to study as much as I would like, and I often feel physically and mentally exhausted. Even so, I continue to do my best each day and entrust this journey to God. I humbly ask for your prayers for wisdom, clarity of mind, strength, peace, and good health throughout my preparation. My hope is to earn my medical license so that I may serve others with compassion and use my knowledge and skills to make a positive difference in their lives. Thank you so much for keeping me in your prayers. God bless you all.

We lift you up before the Lord with hearts full of encouragement and faith, knowing that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6). Your desire to serve others with compassion and excellence is a beautiful reflection of God’s heart, and we rejoice in your commitment to steward the gifts He has entrusted to you.

The weight of preparation for such an important exam, especially while balancing hospital duties, is no small burden. Yet we are reminded that the Lord does not call us to carry these burdens alone. Jesus says in Matthew 11:28-30, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." We pray that you would experience His rest and strength in the midst of exhaustion, trusting that His grace is sufficient for you, for His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

Father, we ask You to grant our brother/sister wisdom as they study, clarity of mind to retain and recall what they have learned, and discernment to focus on what is most important. Quiet the noise of anxiety and replace it with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen their body, mind, and spirit, Lord, and sustain them through these long days. Remind them that their worth is not found in the outcome of this exam, but in Christ alone, who has already declared them beloved and called them by name (Isaiah 43:1).

We also pray for protection over their health, physical, emotional, and spiritual. Guard them against burnout, discouragement, and distraction. Help them to prioritize time in Your Word and prayer, for it is in Your presence that true refreshment is found (Psalm 23:3). May they be rooted and built up in You, strengthened in the faith, and overflowing with thankfulness (Colossians 2:7).

Lord, we declare that this exam is not a test of their ability alone, but an opportunity for Your glory to be revealed. We speak success over their preparation and confidence over their heart as they step into that examination room. May they walk in the assurance that You go before them, beside them, and within them (Deuteronomy 31:8). And when the time comes, may they pass with excellence, not for their own glory, but so that they may be a vessel of healing, hope, and light to those You call them to serve.

Above all, we pray that their identity would remain firmly anchored in Christ. May they never lose sight of the truth that their calling as a physician is a sacred one, a ministry of mercy, a reflection of Your healing touch. Equip them, Lord, to be a beacon of Your love in the medical field, pointing others to the Great Physician, who heals not just the body, but the soul.

We stand with you in faith, believing that the Lord is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). Keep pressing on, dear one. Your labor is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58). The same God who parted the Red Sea, raised the dead, and calmed the storm is with you in this season. Trust in Him, lean on Him, and let His joy be your strength (Nehemiah 8:10).

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We’re grateful you reached out and let us carry this with you for a bit. What stands out to us is the sheer weight of what you’re holding at once, the discipline your hospital duties demand, the mental space a board exam eats up, and a body that just feels worn thin. That you keep showing up and doing your best each day says something true about the kind of physician you already are.

A practical thought that has helped some of us in seasons where study time was scarce and exhaustion loud: give yourself a small, fixed “mental sunrise” each day, even just fifteen minutes with a coffee and an open Bible before the phone or the books get your attention. Not to pile more onto the to-do list, but to ground your mind in something steady before the pressure speaks first. It’s not about squeezing in extra study; it’s about reminding your heart it’s held.

And when the nervousness spikes, let it point you to prayer rather than panic. Your hope, to serve others with compassion, to put knowledge and skill to work for real people, is good and Godward. We’re trusting He sees that desire and will sustain you, body and mind, through these final weeks.

Jesus, thank You for the heart You’ve given this doctor-in-training. Grant clear thinking when the material feels heavy, quiet confidence when nerves rise, and genuine rest in the hours meant for sleep. Guard their health, steady their spirit, and let their hope to serve be met with Your faithful help. In Your name we pray, amen.

Is it not written that they who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength? You speak of being physically and mentally exhausted, even while daily duties press upon you and study hours seem too few. This is precisely the condition in which the Divine strength is made perfect. When there remains no strength in you, nor any ability of any kind or sort, then fling yourself upon the Divine strength and lay hold upon it. Do you not know that He gives power to the faint and, to them that have no might, He increases strength? The fountain is measureless; from that eternal deep you shall draw strength which all eternity will not exhaust. Cease from measuring your own capacity and begin to draw upon His.

The very burden you carry is the schoolroom where faith learns to pray without ceasing. Whenever you feel that you have something to do that is beyond you, stop a moment and breathe a prayer for more strength. The apostles, when they felt duty exceeding natural power, did not abandon the task but cried out for increased faith. You are weakness itself, but if you are united to the Divine strength, you shall be mightily upheld. That resolve to study when the body is weary, to serve the sick when your own mind needs rest, and to entrust the outcome to God, this is the very act of faith that links your frailty to His omnipotence.

Now, concerning the peace for which you long, remember the promise: “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” This peace is not a distant hope; it is a present possession to be enjoyed in the ordinary circumstances of life, even by thronging duties pressed. To do the will of Jesus, this is rest. The examination table need not be a place of anxious turmoil if your mind is stayed on Him. That stay is a simple, childlike trust. It is not human eloquence or mortal wisdom, but the still small voice of God which alone confers the peace which passes all understanding. And oh, what a Heaven lies within when the blood of Jesus whispers peace within! Many a child of God, when weary, has renewed his strength at the remembrance of pardoning mercy. You are already justified by faith; therefore you have peace with God. Let that ground of peace become your constant pillow for a weary head.

Your body and mind cry out for healing even now, for the exhaustion you describe is a kind of sickness. Remember that our Lord Jesus is the great Physician whose very leaves are for the healing of the nations. The little things, the common things, about Christ are full of healing virtue. A weary one plunged into cool water rises quite another man; oh, for a Baptism into the Spirit of God! Cry to Him not merely for strength to study, but for life, His own life quickening your mortal frame. He possesses power to heal because He is the Divine Son, but also because He is human and touched with the feeling of our infirmities. He knows what it is to be pressed upon by multitudes of needs. Your gentleness, O Lord, has made us great. There is none like Him for sympathizing with us and dealing tenderly with us.

As for the outcome, you desire to make a positive difference and serve with compassion. That is a noble aim, for the sons and daughters of affliction mostly seek the Divine oracle and need a physician of tender and gentle spirit. Our Lord Himself is the pattern. He heals not to display mere power but to draw near to the broken-hearted. Go forward, then, in this season of preparation, believing that He who has called you to this service will equip you. Bear your sorrow and your weariness with Him, and then see what peace you will enjoy. The dead cannot gather strength, but you have been made alive in Christ. Therefore wait upon the Lord, and your strength shall be renewed. Then shall your peace be as a river. The God who has pardoned you shall be your God forever and ever, and even now He whispers to your trembling heart, “First forgiveness, then healing.”

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your exhaustion is not a sign of God's absence, but the very condition in which His strength is made perfect. Do not think that success in this examination rests solely on the multitude of hours spent with books, any more than the Apostles conquered the world by their own wisdom. They were unlearned fishermen, yet by the grace of the Spirit they prevailed where the learned and powerful failed. So too, place your hope not in your own weary understanding, but in the wisdom that comes from above. That wisdom, hidden from the wise of this world, is given to those who call upon God with a humble heart.

You rightly seek peace and a calm mind, but remember that true peace is not a mere absence of anxiety. The peace that surpasses all is the daughter of a good conscience and unshaken trust in God. When your mind is tossed by the waves of worry, do not think you can calm the storm by your own frantic efforts. Flee to the harbor of prayer, and the One who once commanded the wind and waves to be still will speak peace to your soul. This peace is a fruit of the Spirit, not a product of human toil.

You long to serve others with compassion, and this is a noble and holy desire. But see first the physician of your own soul. The Divine Physician came not to heal those who were merely weak, but to raise up those who were wholly undone. He will grant you clarity of mind and strength of body as you seek to be His instrument. So go forward, do what diligence you can, but cast the care of the outcome upon God. For the kingdom of God is not a matter of academic success or professional achievement, but of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. Entrust your journey to Him, and He will make your footsteps firm, so that whether you obtain a license or not, you will possess that inward peace which is the foundation of all true joy.
