Disciple of Prayer
My daughter has a learning disability. She just finished her cosmetology course and today is her big state licensing test. She has been studying but she has trouble with tests. Please pray that she passes.

We come before the Lord with hearts full of compassion and faith, lifting up your daughter as she takes her state licensing exam today. Father, we know that You have a unique purpose and plan for each of Your children, and we trust that You have equipped her with the skills and knowledge she needs for this moment. We ask that You calm her nerves and quiet her mind, replacing any fear or anxiety with Your perfect peace. The Bible tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."

Lord, we also ask that You grant her clarity and focus as she works through the exam. For those with learning disabilities, tests can feel overwhelming, but we know that Your strength is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Remind her that she is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that her worth is not defined by this test, but by Your love for her. We pray that You would guide her hands, steady her thoughts, and help her recall all that she has studied.

We rebuke any spirit of fear or doubt that may try to creep in, declaring that she is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves her (Romans 8:37). Father, we ask that You open her mind to understand the questions and give her the confidence to answer them to the best of her ability. If it is Your will, Lord, we pray that she passes this exam with flying colors, but above all, we pray that she feels Your presence with her today, knowing that You are her refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1).

We also want to encourage her to keep her eyes on You, not just for this test, but in all things. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Help her to lean on You, Lord, and to trust that You are guiding her steps.

Father, we thank You for the opportunity You have given her to pursue this career, and we pray that this exam would be a stepping stone to the future You have planned for her. May she walk in the confidence of Your love and the assurance of Your faithfulness. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We are thinking of your daughter today and of you as you wait alongside her. The pressure of a licensing exam is heavy for anyone, and we know that for someone with a learning disability, the whole experience can carry an extra weight that others may not always see. It is not a matter of not knowing the material or not having worked hard, you have already told us she finished her course and has been studying. Sometimes the testing format itself is the hurdle, not the skill or the calling behind it. Please be gentle with your own heart as the hours pass; the worry you are carrying is a mark of your love, not a failure of faith.

If you have a moment with her before she goes in, the most grounding thing you can do may be simply to remind her that she has already proven she can do the work, and that this exam is a step, not a verdict on her worth or her future. Her perseverance in finishing the course is the real measure of her readiness.

We are asking God to steady her mind, to give her clarity and the ability to recall what she has practiced, and to surround her with a sense of calm that is bigger than her own. And we ask for you to feel held and quieted as you wait.

Lord, we lift this daughter to you right now. In a moment that can feel so defining, quiet the noise of fear. Help her to focus on one question at a time, and let nothing block the knowledge and skill she has worked so hard to gain. Give her peace, and give her parent peace. We entrust this day and its outcome to you in Jesus’ name.

How keenly a parent’s heart feels every burden of a beloved child, and how rightly you bring that burden to the throne of grace. The Lord knows ###’s frame; He remembers that she is dust, and He is not unmindful of the peculiar trial of a mind that wrestles with tests while hands are skilled for the work itself. Yet let us not be so affected by external things as to get into a state of worry, fretfulness, and anxiety. The very anxiety which arises through a difficulty unfits us to meet that difficulty. Be prudent, pray earnestly, and then leave the matter with Him who orders all things.

You may judge of your position and test the quality of your religion by this: if you are in God’s own way, you find rest for your soul. So even in this hour of trembling hope, let there be a holy composure of mind, a freedom from alarm. Whether she passes or not, the Lord’s love is fixed. Let her catch the spirit of Jesus, meek and lowly in heart, and in learning that, she shall find rest unto her soul. The lowly spirit learns in whatsoever state it is, therewith to be content.

This trial is a test of taste, a proving of faith. You hope ### is a child of God; now let her taste and see that the Lord is gracious. The river of God is at her feet; let her not perish of thirst while the banquet of Grace is spread. Taste is the best test. If the Lord ordains success, praise Him; should He permit a delay, still trust Him, for He does all things well. Wait patiently for Him, and fret not. He shall bring your righteousness forth as the light. Rest in the Lord, and let none of her steps slide, for the law of her God is in her heart.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You bear a weight of worry for your daughter’s test, but listen to the Lord’s call: Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Do not imagine that her success hangs on study alone or on your anxious thoughts. It is not our diligence, but the providence of God, that brings all things to fruit; if He should turn away, no effort or care would help at all. Entrust her to Him with a steady heart, showing the patience of those who endured afflictions without being shaken. At the same time, remember what true beauty is. Earthly achievements and skills, however useful, are like a flower that quickly withers. The lasting adornment is the soul’s virtue, which no exam can grant or take away. Model for your daughter a quiet trust in God, and teach her to seek that inner glory which the King’s daughter possesses within. Whether she passes or not, may she find in Christ the one who places us in complete security. Let us pray then that God, who gives the true ornament of the soul, will clothe her with His own peace and lead her to rest.
