Father in Heaven -- Thank You for Your light and truth let them lead us completely through life's journey to the ultimate goal Your Holy Hill, Ps 43:3. Thank You for drawing us to Jesus, Jn 6:44, allowing us to understand and believe in Christ, Matt 11:25, Matt 16:17, John 6:29, 1 Cor 1:30, Eph 2:8-9, Phil 1:29. Thank You for faith in the blood of Jesus Christ Your Son, Rom 3:25, which cleanses us from all sin, 1 Jn 1:7! Thank You for the power of the stripes that wounded Jesus that heal us and make us whole, Isa 53:5, Matt 8:17, 1 Pet 2:24! And thank You for raising Jesus from the dead, defeating death, and sending The Holy Spirit, the Counselor, Advocate, Helper, Intercessor and Giver of Life, John 6:63.

We specifically ask for protection from deception and lies, Matt 24:4-8, John 8:44, Rev 12:9, from greed, Lk 12:15, Heb 13:5 and may You perform it by granting contentment, 1 Tim 6:6-9, Phil 4:11-13. Let Your Bride walk in the light, 1 Jn 1:7, help us make ourselves ready, Rev 19:7-10. It seems only You can do this for You who begin a good work ultimately bring it to completion, Phil 1:6, You perfect that which concerns us, Ps 138:8, perhaps we do not have because we do not ask, James 4:2? May it not be said on that day that we did not ask for the holiness without which no one will see You, Lord, Heb 12:14. Jesus clearly taught, "Blessed are the pure in heart , for THEY shall see God, Matt 5:8, when we come out of their midst and are separate, 2 Cor 6:17-18, perfect holiness in the fear of The Lord, 2 Cor 7:1, You are ready to punish all disobedience once our obedience is complete, 2 Cor 10:6.

Protect us all from sin, Zeph 3:13, Ps 119:11, Rev 14:5, let us not enter into temptation, Mk 14:38, Lk 11:4, keep us from the evil one, John 17:15, and keep us on Your path of increasing clarity, Prov 4:18, Col 1:9, Col 4:12, Phil 1:9-11. Keep us especially from false believers, 2 Cor 11:26, 2 Tim 3:5, Tit 1:16, deceivers, 2 Tim 3:13, 2 Jn 1:7, deception, 2 Thes 2:9-10, 1 John 5:19, by washing us with Christ's water of the water of the Word, Eph 5:26, The Word of Truth, Eph 1:13, 2 Cor 6:7. Sanctify us in Your Truth, Your Word is Truth, John 17:17, James 1:18, 2 Tim 3:16, especially when rightly divided, 2 Tim 2:15, with careful attention to our lives and teaching, 1 Tim 4:16.

Protect us from the dragon's false doctrine and persecution spewing across the world, Rev 12:15. Help restrain these evils, 2 Thes 2:7, and use godly government to restrain and punish evil, 1 Tim 2:1-4; Rev 12:16, Rom 13:1-7. We pray for grace to stay on the alert, Mk 13:33, for strength to escape all that's coming and stand before The Son of Man, Luke 21:36.

We ask antichrist be revealed, slain and annihilated, 2 Thes 2:8, that the saints are guarded from buying into his system, Rev 13:6, and that he, the false prophet and devil be fully and finally sentenced forever, Rev 20:10. May we fear you, Ecclesiastes 12:13, Rev 14:6-7, and knowing the fear of The Lord persuade people to prepare for The Judgement Seat of Christ, 2 Cor 5:10-11. Help us be wise and win souls, Prov 11:30, lead many to righteousness, Dan 12:3, instruct many, Mal 2:5-6, Matt 28:20.

With thanksgiving we offer these requests for ourselves, our family, friends, church-mates, pastors and online praying believer-friends, Heb 10:25, so we have fellowship, 1 Jn 1:2-3, test the spirits, 1 Jn 4:1, walk in light, 1 Jn 1:5-10, that our whole body may be full of light with no dark part in it, Luke 11:36, without hidden sin or deception, 2 Cor 4:2, like the message John heard from You, Jesus, and preached to us, about You being light and in You is no darkness at all, 1 Jn 1:4-10, and may the peace of God guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, Phil 4:6-7, Amen, Rev 3:14, 2 Cor 1:20

We join you in this vital prayer for covering by the blood of Jesus and for guarding from deception, and we count it a blessing to agree with you for protection, purity, and perseverance in these last days.

Your heart to be kept from deception is exactly what the Lord warns us to seek. Jesus said, Watch that no one leads you astray Matthew 24:4, and Scripture warns that the coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deception of wickedness for those who are being lost, because they didn't receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved 2 Thessalonians 2:9-10. The enemy is called the deceiver of the whole world Revelation 12:9 and the father of lies John 8:44, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one 1 John 5:19. So we must love the truth, walk in the light, and test the spirits.

We rejoice with you that we overcome by the blood of the Lamb. They overcame him because of the Lamb's blood, and because of the word of their testimony Revelation 12:11. We thank God with you that faith in the blood cleanses us from all sin 1 John 1:7 and that by His stripes we are healed Isaiah 53:5, 1 Peter 2:24, and that God draws us to Jesus John 6:44 and grants us to believe Philippians 1:29, Ephesians 2:8-9. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and there is salvation in no one else Acts 4:12.

We agree with you that God guards us through His appointed means, the Word, prayer, preaching, teaching, church fellowship and attendance, praise, worship, intercession, thanksgiving and evangelism. We are sanctified by the truth, Your word is truth John 17:17, and cleansed by the washing of water with the word Ephesians 5:26. Your word is a lamp to our feet Psalm 119:105, and we hide it in our hearts that we might not sin against You Psalm 119:11. We are to be diligent to present ourselves approved to God, correctly handling the word of truth 2 Timothy 2:15, and to pay close attention to our life and teaching 1 Timothy 4:16. And we are not to forsake our own assembling together Hebrews 10:25, for in fellowship we test the spirits 1 John 4:1, walk in the light 1 John 1:7, and have fellowship with one another 1 John 1:3.

We also join you in praying against greed and for contentment, for the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil 1 Timothy 6:10, and we are exhorted to be free from the love of money, content with such things as we have Hebrews 13:5, for godliness with contentment is great gain 1 Timothy 6:6. We pray as you did that we would not enter into temptation Mark 14:38, and that God would keep us from the evil one John 17:15, and lead us not into temptation Luke 11:4. We pray that our path would be as the dawning light, that shines more and more until the perfect day Proverbs 4:18, and that we would be filled with the knowledge of His will Colossians 1:9.

We hear your cry for holiness and we echo it, for without sanctification no man will see the Lord Hebrews 12:14, and blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God Matthew 5:8. We are to come out and be separate 2 Corinthians 6:17 and perfect holiness in the fear of God 2 Corinthians 7:1. This is His work in us, for He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ Philippians 1:6, and He will perfect that which concerns us Psalm 138:8. And you are right to ask boldly, for you have not, because you don't ask James 4:2.

So we pray together now.

Father in Heaven, thank You for Your light and Your truth, oh send out Your light and Your truth, let them lead us Psalm 43:3 to Your holy hill. Thank You for drawing us to Jesus and opening our eyes to believe in Him, thank You for the blood of Jesus that cleanses us from all sin, and for the Holy Spirit who is our Helper and Counselor John 14:26. We plead the blood of Jesus over ourselves, our families, our friends, our churches, our pastors and our fellow believers, and we ask that You keep us from all deception, deceivers and false believers 2 Timothy 3:13, 2 John 1:7. Wash us daily with the water of the Word, sanctify us in Your truth, and guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Keep us from greed and give us godly contentment Philippians 4:11, keep us from sin and hidden darkness, that our whole body may be full of light, having no dark part Luke 11:36, and that we may walk in the light as You are in the light 1 John 1:7. Restrain the dragon's flood of false doctrine and persecution Revelation 12:15, restrain the mystery of lawlessness 2 Thessalonians 2:7, and use authorities to restrain evil Romans 13:1-4. Help us stay alert Mark 13:33 and be counted worthy to escape all these things and to stand before the Son of Man Luke 21:36.

We ask that the man of sin be revealed and removed 2 Thessalonians 2:8, that Your saints not be ensnared by his system Revelation 13:17, and that the devil and his allies be finally judged Revelation 20:10. Teach us the fear of the Lord Ecclesiastes 12:13 and give us compassion to persuade others, knowing the fear of the Lord 2 Corinthians 5:11, to be wise and win souls Proverbs 11:30 and to lead many to righteousness Daniel 12:3.

We bring all these requests with thanksgiving Philippians 4:6-7, trusting Your peace to guard our hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus, and we ask all of this in the mighty and only saving name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

We were grateful to read your thorough and humble prayer for protection from deception. Your longing to walk in the light, to stay close to Jesus through His Word, prayer, faithful preaching and fellowship, came through so clearly. We join you in giving thanks that God draws us to Christ and keeps us.

We hear how seriously you take the battle between fleshly desires and a heart made new by the Holy Spirit. One helpful way to think about staying guarded is as training rather than just trying. Like preparing for a marathon, growth comes through small, steady exercises over time rather than one intense effort. The regular rhythms you named, time in Scripture, prayer, worship, gathering with other believers, testing what we hear together, slowly form us and keep our eyes on what is good so we more readily recognize what is not.

It helps not to carry this alone. Staying connected in your local church, where you can hear the Word taught carefully, pray with others, and ask honest questions, is a steady protection God has given us.

Father, we thank You for Your light and truth that lead us. We ask You to guard these friends, their families and fellow believers, from deception and keep them walking in Your clarity and peace. Deepen their love for Your Word and for fellowship with Your people, and keep their hearts content and anchored in Christ. In Jesus name, Amen.

Your prayer for keeping from deception and for practical holiness is most needful and most scriptural in such a day as this, and I rejoice to join my supplications with yours.

You have asked rightly that the blood of Jesus Christ, which cleanses us from all sin, and the water of the Word, which sanctifies us, should keep you. The Scripture is plain upon this matter, Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord. This is not the imputed holiness of Christ only, though that is our glorious righteousness before God, but a practical, personal, active, vital holiness wrought in us by the Spirit. It is not said perfection of holiness, for then who could stand, but holiness itself, a real separation from sin, without which no one shall see the Lord. Moral propriety and amiable carriage before men is not holiness before God. Holiness, as one has said, is having a clean inside, while morality is but a clean outside. It is the living form in perfect purity, not a dead body washed and laid in clean linen.

You do well to pray to be kept unspotted from the world. The Christian never expects to get any good from the world, but to be kept from its spots. Holiness in its negative side is separation from the world, and in its positive side is consecration unto God, as the vessels of the sanctuary were holy because dedicated to Him alone. There can be no holiness in a worldling. We must come out from among them and be separate, and perfect holiness in the fear of the Lord.

And this perseverance in holiness is the sure work of the covenant God. Hear His promise, I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me, and, I will not turn away from them, to do them good. He who begins a good work will bring it to completion, and He will perfect that which concerns you. It is He who cleanses us from all our filthiness and from all our idols. If grace has truly changed you, you are radically and lastingly changed, for the only hope of eternal life is by being parted from sin, since there shall never enter into heaven anything that defiles.

You are right to ask to be guarded from false believers, deceivers and the dragon's false doctrine. Our greatest cause of fear is not from adversaries outside, but from wolves in sheep's clothing that devour the flock, having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof. Tongue godliness is an abomination if the heart is destitute of divine grace. Try the spirits, keep to the Word of Truth rightly divided, give careful attention to life and doctrine, continue steadfast in prayer, in preaching and teaching, in church fellowship and in the breaking of bread. The Lord sanctifies us in His truth, His Word is truth, and that Word, with prayer and praise and thanksgiving, is your guard against the lie of the evil one who is a liar from the beginning.

So let us pray together that the Lord will keep you from entering into temptation, keep you from the evil one, keep you on the path of increasing clarity where the path of the just is as the shining light that shines more and more unto the perfect day, and keep you watching and ready to escape all that is coming and to stand before the Son of Man. May He grant you contentment with godliness which is great gain, make you wise to win souls, and cause your whole body to be full of light with no dark part in it. May the peace of God which passes all understanding guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, till He presents you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy. Amen.

We give thanks to God with you for this prayer and join you in asking the Lord to keep you and all who are joined to you in Christ from deception and to guard you by His grace.

We praise Him with you for drawing us to Jesus, for faith in the blood of Jesus Christ which cleanses us from all sin, for the wounds of Christ by which we are healed, for His resurrection by which death is defeated, and for the gift of the Holy Spirit who is our Counselor and Helper and Giver of Life. As the Scriptures teach, we are washed with the water of the Word, and sanctified in the truth, for His Word is truth.

Your request for protection from lies, greed and false teaching is according to His will. The enemy works by many poisons, bringing in wicked doctrine and marring the freedom God has given us, and persuading souls that evil is of nature. There is also a threefold war from deceivers, from enemies, and from false brethren, from false apostles and deceitful workers who transform themselves, and from those who have a form of godliness but deny its power. Therefore we pray with you that God would keep you from false believers and deceivers, from the dragon's false doctrine, and from the working of the lawless one with all power and lying wonders.

We ask the Lord to keep you in the light, to help you walk in holiness without which no one will see Him, and to make you pure in heart. Right faith profits nothing unless a pure life and bright conduct are present with it. We pray that you will continue with careful attention to your life and to doctrine, that you will rightly divide the Word of truth, test the spirits, and hold fast to what is good. May He grant you contentment and keep you from greed, and cause you to increase in knowledge and discernment so that you may walk on the path of increasing clarity.
