Blessings to overcome Financial debt

Roshan Dsouza

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, I come before you in the name of Jesus, asking for your forgiveness of all my sins and blessings. I am burdened with a debt and I am being harassed by calls and visits from the banks, which has brought shame to my family. Lord, I ask for your divine intervention and a miracle, so that debt collections agencies close my accounts completely and I will no longer need to make payments, as I have already paid them more than I borrowed. I am also receiving threats from the banks, warning of legal actions and that they will contact my friends and family to harass them. Additionally, I owe money with interest. My desire is to repay everyone. If these people continue to harass me or my contacts, it could jeopardize my new job and leave me unemployed again. Lord I ask for your intervention to stop harassment and repeated calls from every debt collection agency and individual to whom I have to repay to me, my family and friends, as their presence disrupts our peace. Jesus, please help that no one visit my home to whom I have to pay else that will create a huge problem. Please hear my prayer and grant me peace and resolution. Lord, I ask for your miracle and intervention by granting me a personal loan and I get the same without any hassle as it will help me to pay off all my debts. I ask this in Jesus name. Praise the Lord. Amen.

We have heard your cry and we join with you before the Father in the name of Jesus, giving thanks that you have come in His name and asked for forgiveness, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and hope of salvation. As it is written, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. We rejoice that you have called on that name and we stand with you now.

We feel the weight of shame and fear and anxiety that debt and constant calls and visits and threats can bring, and we want to gently and lovingly bring a biblical perspective to part of your request. You asked that the agencies would close your accounts completely so you no longer need to make payments because you feel you have already paid more than you borrowed. We understand the exhaustion of paying high interest, yet Scripture calls us to integrity in our financial obligations. The wicked borrow, and do not pay back, but the righteous give generously. Psalm 37:21 and Owe no one anything, except to love one another. Romans 13:8 and also Give therefore to everyone what you owe. Romans 13:7. If there is a lawful remaining balance that you truly owe, God desires that we seek to repay what we owe as we are able, rather than to pray for the debt to simply be erased. At the same time God is merciful and He sees when interest and harassment become oppressive, and He calls lenders also to act justly. We encourage you to seek godly counsel, to keep careful records of what was borrowed and what has been repaid, to communicate honestly with creditors where possible, and to seek wise and legal help if harassment or threats violate the law or jeopardize your employment. The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit. Proverbs 21:5 reminds us that God honors steady, faithful work and stewardship.

We also hear your desire to repay everyone and to protect your family and your new job and your peace at home. God cares deeply about your provision and your peace. We are reminded My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 and In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. Cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7. You do not need to carry shame, for the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and He invites you to come to Him, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28. We also remember Seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6:33.

So we pray together with you.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus and we thank You for Your forgiveness and mercy toward us. We lift up our brother before You who is burdened by debt and fear and shame. Lord, grant him Your peace that surpasses understanding and guard his heart and mind. Provide for his needs according to Your riches in glory, grant him wisdom to steward what You have given, diligence in his new job, and favor with his employers. Lord, we ask that You would intervene to stop unjust harassment and threatening visits and calls against him and his family and friends, and protect his home as a place of peace. Give him wisdom and courage to act honestly and to make a faithful plan to repay what is truly owed, and give him discernment about any further borrowing, that a personal loan would only be granted if it is Your will and would truly lead to freedom and not to a deeper trap. Help him to find godly counsel and practical help to manage these debts, to live within his means, and to trust You day by day. We ask that You would open doors for provision through honest work and that You would restrain those who would act harshly or unlawfully. Let Your will be done in his finances and let his life bring glory to You. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, our provider and our peace. Amen.

We have been praying with you as you shared this burden. Being hounded by calls and visits, feeling shame before your family, and fearing for your new job would leave anyone exhausted and on edge. We are so sorry you are carrying this.

We are encouraged that you want to repay what you owe and find peace for your household again. That desire to act responsibly matters, even when the pressure feels overwhelming.

One step that has helped many in a similar place is sitting down with a trusted, nonprofit financial counselor, such as a consumer credit counseling agency in your area. They can look at your income, debts and interest with you, help you make a clear budget, and often work with you to create a realistic repayment plan with creditors. Having a plan in place can bring some calm and give you clear next steps, and a pastor or wise mentor can walk with you for encouragement and accountability as you follow it. If calls or visits feel threatening, a counselor can also help you understand respectful next options.

Father, in Jesus name we bring our brother before You. You see his debt, his family and his new job, and You know his longing for peace. Grant him wisdom, steady provision and favor as he seeks to meet his obligations. Quiet the harassment against him and his loved ones, guard his employment, and lead him to trustworthy help and counsel. Give him rest and hope as You guide each step. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer has been heard and your burden has been brought before the Lord with compassion and care. You have spoken honestly of the shame and distress that debt has brought upon you and your family, of the calls and visits that disrupt your peace, and of the fear that your employment may be jeopardized. These are heavy trials, and it is right to bring them to the throne of grace.

The Scripture teaches us that every man shall bear his own burden, and that the wicked borroweth and payeth not again. When we have entered into an obligation, even with interest that feels heavy, integrity before God calls us to seek to repay what is justly owed rather than to seek a way to have it simply erased. To pray that accounts would be closed while a lawful debt remains would not be to seek God's blessing upon honesty. The Lord is not honored when we ask Him to set aside what is right. What we may seek with confidence is His grace to bear our burden with truthfulness, diligence and faith, and His provision to meet our obligations in a way that is upright before Him and before men.

True peace does not come from the silence of creditors or the absence of calls at the door, though we long for relief from harassment and we will pray for it. Perfect peace is that which is kept for him whose mind is stayed upon God because he trusts in Him. When the heart learns that its enormous debt of sin has been fully discharged by the blood of Jesus Christ for all who believe, then the conscience finds rest. Christ has made peace by His blood, and that peace with God is the fountain from which peace in the conscience flows. It is a well founded peace, not a lull of stupefaction, but a peace that rests upon atonement made and reconciliation secured. To do the will of Jesus, to learn of Him and to take His yoke, is rest even when duties press and sorrows surge around.

Christ says, My yoke is easy and My burden is light. He does not say that the burden of life itself is light, but that His yoke and His burden are. When we come to Him, He lifts the crushing burden of sin and then gives us strength to carry the lawful burdens of this life with patience, honesty and hope. That is the peace we desire for you, a peace within that can stand even while outward difficulties remain, and a wisdom from above to walk rightly through them.

We pray now for you in the name of Jesus, the only name by which we have access to the Father and by which sins are forgiven.

Heavenly Father, we ask for Your forgiveness through the blood of Jesus Christ and for Your mercy upon this soul who confesses sin and seeks Your face. Grant a renewed trust in Christ and the perfect peace that comes from being reconciled to You. We ask not that You would bless any evasion of what is justly owed, but that You would grant wisdom, honest work, and faithful stewardship, that debts may be repaid as far as it is possible and right. Provide for daily needs according to Your goodness, open honest and lawful ways to meet obligations, and guard against any counsel toward deceit. We ask for Your protection over family and home, for relief from unlawful harassment and threats, for favor and stability in employment, and for calm and restraint upon those who collect what is owed, that all dealings may be conducted with truth and without fear. Keep this household in Your keeping, give counsel to seek wise and godly help in ordering finances, and let peace that passes understanding guard heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Amen.

Take your burden to the Lord daily in prayer, and also take practical steps with integrity. Labor diligently in the calling He has given you, live within what He provides, seek godly counsel for managing what is owed, and deal plainly and respectfully with those to whom you are indebted, seeking lawful and peaceful arrangements where possible. The Lord will bless His people with peace, not as the world gives, but as His Spirit works it in the soul that believes and obeys. May you find that peace in believing, and may it sustain you as you walk faithfully through this trial.
