Blessings to overcome Financial debt

Roshan Dsouza

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, I come before you in the name of Jesus, asking for your forgiveness of all my sins and blessings. I am burdened with a debt and I am being harassed by calls and visits from the banks, which has brought shame to my family. Lord, I ask for your divine intervention and a miracle, so that debt collections agencies close my accounts completely and I will no longer need to make payments, as I have already paid them more than I borrowed. I am also receiving threats from the banks, warning of legal actions and that they will contact my friends and family to harass them. Additionally, I owe money with interest. My desire is to repay everyone. If these people continue to harass me or my contacts, it could jeopardize my new job and leave me unemployed again. Lord I ask for your intervention to stop harassment and repeated calls from every debt collection agency and individual to whom I have to repay to me, my family and friends, as their presence disrupts our peace. Jesus, please help that no one visit my home to whom I have to pay else that will create a huge problem. Please hear my prayer and grant me peace and resolution. Lord, I ask for your miracle and intervention by granting me a personal loan and I get the same without any hassle as it will help me to pay off all my debts. I ask this in Jesus name. Praise the Lord. Amen.

We hear your cry for help, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting your burdens before our Heavenly Father. Financial debt is a heavy weight, and the harassment you’re facing only adds to the distress. We recognize your desire to honor your obligations and live in peace, and we believe God hears your plea. Let us first address the spiritual foundation of your request.

The Bible tells us in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." God is not unaware of your situation, and He is able to provide for you in ways you may not yet see. However, we must also acknowledge that God’s provision often comes through wisdom, stewardship, and obedience to His principles. Proverbs 22:7 warns, "The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender." While debt is not a sin, it can become a snare if not handled with discernment and responsibility.

We rebuke the spirit of fear and oppression that seeks to overwhelm you through these harassing calls and threats. The enemy wants to steal your peace, but we declare that Jesus came so that you may have life abundantly (John 10:10). We pray that God would intervene in the legal and financial pressures you’re facing. In 1 Peter 5:7, we are reminded to "cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you." You are not alone in this battle.

However, we must also gently correct a misunderstanding in your prayer. You asked for a "miracle" where debt collectors would close your accounts completely and you would no longer need to make payments, even though you’ve already repaid more than you borrowed. While we believe in God’s power to perform miracles, we must align our requests with His will and justice. The Bible teaches us to "render to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor" (Romans 13:7). If you owe a debt, it is right to seek to repay it, even if the process has been unfair or oppressive. Instead of asking for debts to be erased without repayment, we encourage you to pray for wisdom in negotiating with creditors, for favor in resolving these matters justly, and for God’s provision to meet your obligations in a way that honors Him.

We also pray against the harassment you’re experiencing. The Bible says in Proverbs 16:7, "When a man’s ways please Yahweh, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him." We ask God to soften the hearts of those who are pursuing you aggressively and to grant you favor in their eyes. If their actions are unlawful or unethical, we pray that God would expose any wrongdoing and bring justice. We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we rebuke the spirit of intimidation in Jesus’ name.

Regarding your request for a personal loan, we encourage you to seek God’s wisdom in this area. Proverbs 22:26-27 warns, "Don’t you be one of those who strike hands, of those who are collateral for debts. If you don’t have means to pay, why should he take away your bed from under you?" If taking on another loan is not the wisest path, we pray that God would open doors for you to increase your income, reduce your expenses, or find alternative solutions that do not lead to further bondage. We ask for divine favor in your new job, that it would be stable and prosperous, and that your employers would value and protect you.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is burdened by debt and harassment. Lord, You see the weight upon their heart, and You know the fear and shame they carry. We ask that You would break the chains of oppression and bring peace to their mind and spirit. Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear and declare that Your perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). We pray that You would intervene in the harassment they are facing, that the calls would cease, and that those pursuing them would be led by Your Spirit to act with fairness and compassion.

Lord, we ask for Your provision in this time of need. You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and we trust that You will open doors no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). Give them wisdom in managing their finances, and guide them in making decisions that honor You. If it is Your will, provide a way for them to settle their debts justly, whether through negotiation, increased income, or other means. We pray for favor in their workplace, that their job would be secure and that they would excel in their role.

Father, we also ask that You would heal any wounds caused by this situation, emotionally, relationally, and spiritually. Restore their peace and give them hope for the future. Help them to trust in You with all their heart and not lean on their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). May they experience Your faithfulness in tangible ways, knowing that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).

We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer and for moving on their behalf. May Your will be done in their life, and may they walk in the freedom and abundance that You have promised. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

In closing, we encourage you to seek godly counsel, whether through a trusted pastor, a Christian financial advisor, or a mentor who can help you navigate this season with wisdom. God does not intend for you to walk through this alone. We also remind you that your worth is not defined by your debt or your financial struggles. You are a child of the Most High God, and He loves you unconditionally. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and trust that He will lead you into a place of freedom and peace.

We hear how exhausting this is, the constant calls, the dread of a knock on the door, the weight of shame, and the fear that it could all spill over and cost you the new job you’ve worked so hard to find. That pressure can make it feel like the walls are closing in, and we are sorry you’re walking through it.

In the middle of the noise, a small, concrete step can sometimes help steady the ground under your feet. You don’t have to strategize alone. Consider reaching out to a trustworthy, nonprofit credit counseling service, one that can talk through your situation, help you understand your options, and even communicate with creditors on your behalf. Sometimes just having another voice in your corner, someone who knows the legal and financial ropes, can reduce the harassing calls and give you a little breathing room. That, in turn, can protect your peace at home and your focus at work.

Beyond that, please know you don’t carry this shame before a God who keeps score. He already knows the full story and meets you not with condemnation but with mercy. Right now, the most urgent thing is to keep bringing your fear to Him, not as a polished prayer, but as you are, even when all you have is “Lord, help.”

Let’s pray.

Father, we lift up this son who feels cornered by debt and threats. Calm his heart and quiet the storm of calls and visits. Give him wisdom to take one clear step forward, and make a way where there seems to be none, whether through unexpected provision, a workable plan, or the help of wise counselors. Guard his new job, shield his family from harassment, and restore their peace. Most of all, anchor him in Your love, which never wavers. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Upon you comes great tribulation, a whirlwind of debt and shame that shakes the walls of your household. The adversary would sift you as wheat, using these instruments of the world to rob you of your peace and to drive you to despair. Yet know this: the blood of Jesus whispers peace within, even when the clamor of creditors is loudest. That blessed peace is not the quiet of an untroubled sea, but a deep, abiding calm in the midst of the storm, kept in perfect and perpetual store for the mind that is stayed upon Jehovah. You ask for a loan to quiet the storm, and the Lord may, in His providence, ordain it; but what you need far more is to seek the Lord of the loan, to have such an interest in His covenant that your heart is settled, resolved, come what may.

Consider the case of Job. His trial was not a single calamity, but a succession of blows, property snatched, children slain, health broken, and friends turned into tormentors. Yet the sacred record holds this gem: "In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly." He did not tie his trust to a specific outcome, as if he would only bless God when the boil was healed and the lost sheep were restored. His great word was, "Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him." This is the faith’s ultimatum. You must grip this truth with both hands, even as you seek relief. It is not said, "Though He send a personal loan to me," but "Though He slay me." Can you bow before a sovereigreign Lord and kiss the hand that holds the rod, confessing that He is righteous even when the pain is sharp and the disgrace is bitter? Job’s captivity was not turned until he prayed for his offending friends. In the same way, let your plea rise not only for your own deliverance, but also be mindful of your duty to repay what is owed. A child of God must not despise uprightness. Therefore, your desire to discharge every farthing is a right and holy instinct, but let your first and greatest wrestling be that you might be filled with the peace of God which passes all understanding, a peace that the world can neither give nor take away.

Take heed, I pray you, of a false peace. The devil would have your conscience lie still in a fool’s paradise, or else he would drive you to the notion that God must act according to your scheme, or else He is not good. This would be to "charge God foolishly." The Lord may permit these harassing calls to continue for a season, just as He allowed the messengers of calamity to crash upon Job’s ears one after another. He does this not from a lack of love, but to teach you that man shall not live by bread alone, nor by a quiet life alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Let your great cry be unto Him: "Lord, bless me with Your peace, even if the waves still roar. Renew my peace, for in You is an endless, boundless store." And while you cry for this, do the next practical thing with a quiet and honest diligence, seeking to do right by all men as far as it lies within your power, and leaving the miracle of full deliverance entirely in the hands where alone it belongs.

You have a personal religion, a personal interest in the blood of sprinkling. You do not cry out to a distant abstraction, but to a living Saviour who gave Himself for you. And as you have received personal mercy, is it not reasonable that you should now render personal service? That service, in this trying hour, is the sacrifice of trust. To trust Him when the savings are gone is faith; to trust Him when the job itself trembles in the balance is a faith yet more refined, more precious than gold that perishes. Go to the throne of grace and plead the promises, for He has said, "Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me." That deliverance may not look precisely as you have drawn it out in your petition, but it will be a true deliverance nonetheless, perhaps a day-by-day provision, perhaps a sudden and unexpected opening of the prison door, perhaps a strengthening of your back to bear the load without stooping. Lay hold upon the Lord, for He alone is the God of the resurrection, and His arm is not shortened that it cannot save. Peace, perfect peace, is the portion of the one whose mind is stayed on Him, regardless of the turmoil without.

Father, please meet deepest spiritual, physical, emotional, financial needs according to Your Will and timing in Jesus Name Amen
"May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace." Numbers 6:24-26
