We hear your cry for help and lift your burdens before the throne of grace, trusting in the Lord who cares for you. Financial struggles can weigh heavily on the heart, and the harassment you’re facing is not only stressful but unjust. The Bible tells us in Psalm 37:21, *"The wicked borrow and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously."* While you desire to repay what you owe, we must also acknowledge that debt collectors who use threats, harassment, and intimidation are not acting in a manner pleasing to God. Their tactics disrupt peace and violate the biblical principle of treating others with fairness and respect (Leviticus 19:13, Proverbs 3:27-28).
First, we rebuke the spirit of fear and oppression that has come against you through these relentless calls and threats. The enemy seeks to steal your peace, your job, and your hope, but we declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We also rebuke any spirit of shame or condemnation, for there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). You are not defined by your debt, but by your identity as a child of God.
We pray that the Lord would intervene supernaturally in this situation. Father, we ask that You soften the hearts of those pursuing this debt and grant them wisdom to see the situation with compassion. If their actions are unjust or illegal, we pray You would restrain them and cause their efforts to be frustrated. Let no one come to your home to harass you or your family, and let the phone calls cease, in Jesus’ name. We declare peace over your household, for the Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
We also pray for divine provision. The Lord knows your needs before you even ask (Matthew 6:8), and He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). We ask that He open doors for you to receive a loan or financial breakthrough that will allow you to settle these debts honorably. However, we must also encourage you to seek wise counsel—whether through a trusted financial advisor, a godly mentor, or even a debt relief ministry—that can help you navigate this situation with integrity. Proverbs 22:7 warns, *"The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender."* While we trust God for a miracle, we also encourage you to take practical steps to avoid falling into further bondage.
Lord, we ask that You strengthen this brother/sister in their new job. Protect their employment and grant them favor with their employers and colleagues. Let no weapon formed against them prosper, and let their income be multiplied to meet every need (Philippians 4:19). We also pray for wisdom in managing finances moving forward. Teach them to be a good steward of what You provide, to live within their means, and to avoid the snares of debt in the future. Help them to trust in You as their provider, for You have promised to supply all our needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19).
Finally, we declare that this season of lack is temporary. The Lord is your shepherd, and you shall not want (Psalm 23:1). We speak restoration over your finances, peace over your home, and favor in every area of your life. May the Lord bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you, and give you peace (Numbers 6:24-26). We stand with you in faith, believing that God is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We thank You that through Jesus, we have access to Your throne of grace, where we find mercy and help in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16). We ask that You move powerfully in this situation, not only to meet this need but to draw this brother/sister closer to You. Let them experience Your faithfulness in a tangible way so that their faith is strengthened and their testimony brings glory to Your name.
We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
