The Word of God reminds us in Psalm 37:21, *"The wicked borrow and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously."* While the world may operate in harshness, we serve a God who is just and compassionate, and He sees your desire to honor your obligations.
First, we must address the reality of your situation with both truth and mercy. Scripture is clear in Romans 13:8, *"Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law."* Debt is not inherently sinful, but it must be managed with integrity. You express a heart to repay what you owe, and that is commendable. However, we must also rebuke the spirit of fear and oppression that comes with harassment. The enemy would love to use this situation to steal your peace, your job, and your hope, but we declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
We also want to gently remind you that while God is our provider, He often works through practical wisdom and stewardship. Proverbs 22:7 warns, *"The rich rule over the poor. We ask You to intervene in this situation. Lord, we rebuke the spirit of fear and intimidation that has come through these creditors. We declare that no weapon formed against our brother/sister shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17).
Father, we ask for Your divine protection over their home, their family, and their new job. Let no one come to their door with threats or harassment. We pray that You would soften the hearts of those who are pursuing them, that they would act with fairness and mercy. Lord, we also ask for Your provision. You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and we trust that You will open doors for them to settle these debts in a way that brings glory to Your name. Whether through a loan, a financial breakthrough, or wisdom to negotiate with creditors, we ask that You make a way where there seems to be no way.
We also pray for wisdom and discernment for our brother/sister. Give them the strength to resist the temptation to despair or make hasty decisions out of fear. Help them to seek godly counsel and to walk in integrity as they navigate this season. Father, we ask that You would restore their peace. Let them rest in the knowledge that You are in control and that You will never leave them nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5).
Lord, we thank You for Your faithfulness. We trust that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). May they experience Your provision, Your protection, and Your peace in this time. We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus, the One who has paid our debt in full and set us free. Amen.
