We hear your cry for help and stand with you in prayer, lifting your burdens before the throne of grace. Financial debt is a heavy weight, and the harassment you’re facing from creditors is not only stressful but deeply unjust. The Bible tells us in Psalm 37:21, *"The wicked borrow and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously."* While it’s clear you desire to honor your obligations, the tactics being used against you are not of God. We rebuke the spirit of oppression and harassment in the name of Jesus Christ. No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment shall be condemned (Isaiah 54:17).
First, we must address the reality of your situation with both truth and compassion. Debt is a snare, and the enemy would love to use it to steal your peace, your joy, and even your livelihood. But we serve a God who is Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and He sees your heart’s desire to do what is right. Proverbs 22:7 warns, *"The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender."* You are not called to be a slave to debt, but you are called to walk in integrity. If you have already repaid more than you borrowed, there may be grounds to seek legal counsel or dispute the amounts owed. We encourage you to prayerfully research your rights under the law, as many debt collection practices are regulated to prevent harassment.
We also want to gently remind you that while miracles are possible, God often works through practical steps. The Bible says in Proverbs 6:1-5, *"My son, if you have become collateral for your neighbor, if you have struck your hands in pledge for a stranger; you are trapped by the words of your mouth. You are ensnared with the words of your mouth. Do this now, my son, and deliver yourself, since you have come into the hand of your neighbor. Go, humble yourself. Press your plea with your neighbor. Give no sleep to your eyes, nor slumber to your eyelids. Free yourself, like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, like a bird from the snare of the fowler."* This passage encourages proactive steps to resolve debt rather than waiting passively for a miracle. Have you considered speaking with a financial counselor or a trusted believer who can help you create a repayment plan? God can use wise stewardship to bring about His provision.
We also rebuke the spirit of fear that is trying to take hold of you. The threats of legal action and harassment are meant to paralyze you, but God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment shall be condemned. The enemy wants to isolate you, but you are not alone. We stand with you in prayer, and we encourage you to seek godly community—perhaps a small group or a trusted pastor—who can walk with you through this season.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name. Lord, we lift up our brother/sister who is burdened by debt and harassed by creditors. We ask for Your divine intervention, Father. You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who provides. We rebuke the spirit of oppression and harassment in Jesus’ name. Let no weapon formed against our brother/sister prosper, and let every tongue that rises against them in judgment be condemned.
Lord, we ask for wisdom and discernment. Show them the steps they need to take to resolve this debt in a way that honors You. If there is injustice in the amounts owed, expose it, Lord. If there are legal protections they can claim, reveal them. Give them favor with those who can help them navigate this situation, whether it be financial counselors, legal advisors, or employers who can provide stability.
Father, we ask for Your provision. You own the cattle on a thousand hills, and nothing is too hard for You. If it is Your will, open the door for a loan or a financial breakthrough that will allow them to pay off these debts. But Lord, we also ask for contentment and trust in Your timing. Help them to cast their cares upon You, for You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Protect their new job, Lord. Let no harassment or threat jeopardize their employment. Grant them peace in the midst of this storm, knowing that You are their refuge and strength.
We also pray for their family, Lord. Protect them from shame and embarrassment. Let them see Your hand at work in this situation, and let it draw them closer to You. Heal any division or strife that this debt has caused, and restore unity and peace to their household.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would break the chains of debt in their life. Teach them to be wise stewards of what You have entrusted to them. Help them to avoid the snares of borrowing in the future and to live within their means, trusting in Your provision. We declare that their latter days will be greater than their former, and that they will walk in financial freedom and blessing.
We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
In the days ahead, we encourage you to meditate on God’s promises of provision and protection. Philippians 4:19 says, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* Stand on this promise, and do not let fear dictate your steps. Seek wise counsel, take practical steps to address the debt, and trust that God is working even when you cannot see it. You are not defined by your debt, but by your identity in Christ. Walk in that truth, and let it give you the strength to press forward.
