What a privilege to carry a little life, and what a weight those words carry when you're also carrying concerns about a placenta that needs to move, fibroids, diabetes, and all the unknown fears that can crowd in. The body feels so fragile in these months, and yet Scripture shows us that God weaves His purposes right through the most physically demanding seasons.
Think of Mary, great with child, making that long, jarring trek from Nazareth to Bethlehem. No comfortable ride, no appeal for special treatment. From a human perspective, it looked like an inconvenient, risky journey forced by a distant ruler. But unseen by Caesar, the Lord was orchestrating every dusty mile so that the child would be born exactly where the prophet had said, seven centuries earlier. The physical strain was real, yet God’s hand was steady beneath it. Your pregnancy has its own hard roads: the monitoring, the unknowns, the desire for everything to shift into the right place. The same God who guided that ancient couple is guiding you. He isn't fazed by fibroids or glucose levels. He knows how to tend both you and this baby.
I want to gently remind you that the condition of your body is not a scorecard of God's love. Some faithful souls have remained vigorous right to the end, while others, equally loved, have wrestled with frailties. The presence of complications doesn't mean His favor has slipped. It means you live in a world that groans, and you have a merciful Father who walks with you through the ache. Pray for a healthy baby, absolutely. Cry out for the placenta to move and for protection from every complication. But also ask for the grace to say, even now, "Be it unto me according to your word." That surrender Mary offered didn't come from comfortable circumstances; it came from a heart that trusted God's faithfulness was bigger than her visible situation.
Already, that little one is known. When Mary greeted Elizabeth, the unborn John leaped with joy, and the Holy Spirit filled him even in the womb. Your baby is not hidden from God. He knits and watches and cares intimately. As you wait, rest in the beautiful truth that the Lord is with you in the sixth month, the final stretch, the weary nights. He does not despise a mother's anxious prayers. He collects them.
So keep bringing your requests, boldly and often. Ask for mercy. Ask for health. But alongside those petitions, tuck in this quiet confidence: whether the path is smooth or rocky, you are held. The One who moved a whole empire to get a pregnant girl to the right village can certainly guide your body, your doctors, and every detail of this child's birth. I am praying with you for that full-term, healthy little one, and for your own heart to know deep peace.
