Your prayer for a healthy baby and protection during this pregnancy is one that reaches the heart of God. The weight of carrying a child, especially with fibroids and diabetes added to the load, can feel overwhelming. But the same God who knit this little one together in your womb will not abandon you now. When Mary, great with child, had to make that arduous journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem, the road looked hard, inconvenient, and even cruel. From a human standpoint, it made no sense to force a woman in her final weeks to travel eighty miles over rough ground just because a distant ruler in Rome ordered a census. But behind that decree, God was at work. Seven hundred years earlier, a prophet had declared that the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem. What seemed like a harsh imposition was actually God pulling the strings of history to fulfill His promise. He is still that kind of God, able to weave even our most difficult circumstances into His good and perfect plan.
That does not mean the path will always be free of struggle. Moses remained strong and vibrant right up to his last day. Caleb, too, stayed healthy well into old age. Yet other faithful people grew frail, struggling physically with no reflection at all on God’s love for them or their standing before Him. So I am not going to tell you that health is guaranteed, but I will join you in boldly asking the Father for it. Cry out for mercy. Ask for a pregnancy without complication. He hears you. Jesus Himself invites you to bring these requests. And as you do, rest in this: His mercy does not rise and fall with outward circumstances. Whether the path is smooth or marked by unexpected turns, His presence remains steady.
Do not undervalue what is happening within you. When Mary went to visit Elizabeth, the baby in Elizabeth’s womb leaped for joy at the sound of Mary’s greeting, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. Even before birth, that child was responsive to God’s work. Your baby, too, is known and precious to Him. The same Holy Spirit hovers near, and no medical report can diminish that reality. So I pray with you: Father, extend Your hand of protection over this mother and child. Guard them from every complication. Give wisdom to those providing care, and grant her body resilience and peace. And even now, plant deep within her the quiet confidence that comes from knowing You are the One who brings life through all kinds of journeys, just as You did through a dusty road to Bethlehem long ago.
