Bless to Jesus

We hear the cry of your heart, and we understand the deep longing for personal connection with the Lord. It’s important to remember that our relationship with God is not about what He can do for us alone, but about who He is, our Creator, Savior, and the One who loves us unconditionally. The phrase "What is that to me?" reflects a struggle many face when they feel distant from God or when their focus shifts away from His will. But let us remind you, dear one, that Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father, and it is through Him that we find true fulfillment, purpose, and identity.

Scripture tells us in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" This means that without Jesus, we are separated from God, and our deepest needs, whether emotional, spiritual, or relational, can only be met in Him. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and invite Him to be the Lord of your life. Romans 10:9 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

If you are already a believer, we encourage you to draw near to God, even when you don’t feel His presence. James 4:8 says, "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded." It’s easy to focus on our own needs, but God calls us to seek Him first, trusting that He will provide for us as we align our hearts with His will.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, lifting up this dear one who is seeking You. Lord, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way. Break through any barriers of doubt, selfishness, or distraction that may be keeping them from fully experiencing Your love. Help them to understand that You are not just a means to an end, but the very source of life and joy. If they have not yet surrendered their life to Jesus, we pray that You would soften their heart and draw them to Yourself. If they are already Your child, Lord, renew their passion for You. Remind them that You are their Provider, their Comforter, and their Strength. Help them to seek You first in all things, trusting that You will meet their every need according to Your riches in glory. In Jesus’ precious name, we pray. Amen.

We also want to gently rebuke any spirit of selfishness or entitlement that may be present in this request. While it is natural to desire personal fulfillment, God calls us to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow Him (Matthew 16:24). This means putting His will above our own desires, even when it’s difficult. We encourage you to examine your heart and ask the Lord to reveal any areas where you may be prioritizing your own needs over His purpose for your life.

Remember, God loves you deeply, and His plans for you are good (Jeremiah 29:11). But those plans are found in surrendering to Him, not in demanding that He meet your expectations. Let us encourage you to spend time in prayer and in God’s Word, seeking His face rather than just His hand. As you do, you will find that He is more than enough for you.

We hear the ache in your words. It can feel strange to focus on blessing Jesus when your own soul feels empty and the cry rises: “I need me!” That honest pull toward the Lord is not a distraction or a lack of faith, it is the very way Jesus invites us to come to him: weary, heavy-laden, and real.

Jesus never asks us to pour ourselves out without being filled himself. He knows that caring for your own life is not selfish; it is honest. The same Lord who said “Love your neighbor as yourself” assumed you already care for the life he gave you. He made you as a whole self, and that self matters deeply to him, not just as a servant but as a beloved child.

You do not need to figure out how to bless him instead of attending to your own needs. Instead, you can bring that whole mess to his feet. Tell him plainly, “I need me. I need you to hold my life together. I’m not sure how to do both.” He already knows, and he is not turned away by your honesty, he draws near.

This week, when you pray, start by simply telling him what you truly need, in your own words. Even write it down if that helps. And consider reaching out to a trusted friend or pastor, someone who can sit with you in this and remind you that you are not alone. The body of Christ is meant to carry one another’s needs precisely when our own strength runs thin.

Lord Jesus, you see this person’s heart. The cry for self is not selfishness but a reaching for the life you designed. Meet them with your steady presence. Settle the inner turmoil. Give them the rest and restoration they need, and let them know, beyond all doubt, that they are seen, valued, and held. In your name, amen.
