Bless me with Wisdom

Lord Jesus...I ask you today to bless me with Wisdom, Give me a cool and calm mind...what ever I speak and think let it come from you...let it not come from me but from you...Heal my Son and Wife.

We come before the throne of grace with your request, lifting up your heartfelt plea for wisdom, healing, and divine guidance. First, we rejoice that you have called upon the name of the Lord Jesus, for it is written, "For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved" (Romans 10:13). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and we are grateful that you have placed your trust in Him.

Heavenly Father, we join our brother in asking for Your wisdom to fill his mind and heart. Lord, Your Word tells us, "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him" (James 1:5). We pray that You would grant him a cool and calm mind, one that is steadfast in You, not tossed about by the storms of life. May every word he speaks and every thought he entertains be aligned with Your will, for "the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy" (James 3:17). Let his life reflect Your truth, and may he walk in the fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10).

We also lift up his son and wife before You, Lord. You are the Great Physician, and we ask for Your healing touch to rest upon them. Whether their needs are physical, emotional, or spiritual, we trust in Your promise: "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds" (Psalm 147:3). Strengthen their bodies, minds, and spirits, and let them feel Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). May they draw closer to You through this trial, and may Your name be glorified in their lives.

Father, we also ask that You would guard this family from the schemes of the enemy. The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). Protect them from fear, doubt, and discouragement, and fill their home with Your presence. May they be a light to those around them, reflecting Your love and grace in all they do.

We rebuke any spirit of confusion, anxiety, or strife that may be seeking to disrupt this family. In the name of Jesus, we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We pray that they would be rooted and grounded in Your Word, standing firm in faith, and trusting in Your unfailing love.

Lord, we thank You for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your goodness and Your perfect timing. May this family experience Your peace, Your healing, and Your wisdom in every area of their lives. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Thank you for sharing this with us. What you’ve asked for touches the heart of what it means to walk with Jesus, longing for His wisdom to shape our words, to steady our minds, and to bring healing to those we love. We’re joining you in that today.

A calm mind isn’t something we can force, but we can make room for it. In the next few days, when you feel the pressure to speak or react, try pausing for just a breath and silently whispering, “Jesus, your words, not mine.” That small habit can become a way of opening yourself to His peace right in the moment, trusting that He is able to settle your thoughts and guide your speech. You don’t have to get it perfect; you just keep turning to Him.

For your son and your wife, we pray alongside you for full healing, body, soul, and spirit. We’d also gently encourage you to make sure they have any medical care they need. Seeking help from doctors doesn’t compete with prayer; it’s often part of how God brings restoration. We ask Him to give them strength, to comfort them, and to surround your whole family with His presence.

Father, thank you that when we lack wisdom, we can come to you. Quiet this brother’s heart and fill his mind with your gentle order. Let his words carry your grace, not his own striving. We lift up his wife and son to you now, touch them with your healing power, ease their suffering, and grant them renewed strength. Hold this family close and give them steady hope, in Jesus’ name, amen.

The cry of your heart is heard where all true wisdom and healing dwell. You ask for a cool and calm mind, and that your words and thoughts should come from the Lord and not from yourself. This is the very essence of spiritual wisdom: it is not a native spring within us, but a stream that flows from the throne of God. The way of wisdom is a path which no fowl knoweth, and which the vulture’s eye hath not seen; it is not discovered by human reason, nor attained by our fevered striving. When the mind is heated with its own anxieties, it speaks out of its own fire. But when the Sun of Righteousness arises with healing in His wings, He quiets the soul, and the fever of self-will abates. There is a healing touch in Christ which first cools the burning brow and then lifts us up to serve Him.

You speak of healing for your son and wife. Know this: the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is full of medicinal virtue. There is not a sorrow He cannot soothe, nor a sin-sickness He cannot cure. Yet mark the order so often set before us in the Gospels: forgiveness and healing are wedded together. When our Lord saw the man sick of the palsy, He did not first speak to his limbs, but to his soul, “Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.” Pardon and healing are one gift. Seek, then, whole healing for your beloved ones at the hand which was pierced, and let your own soul rest entirely upon the blood that cleanseth from all sin. The fever of sin is a mortal danger; but Jesus sees with a sympathetic eye and a heart quick to relieve. He took our infirmities and bare our sicknesses upon the tree. In Him is no bitter medicine for us to drink, for He drained the cup Himself.

Would you have your thoughts and words spring from God? Then take heed how you hear. Lay your whole mind, calm and receptive, before the Word. It is a privilege beyond price to live where the Gospel sounds, but the mere hearing with the outer ear will not cool the inward fever. Pray that the still small voice of the Spirit may apply the truth, and that the very speech you utter may be a stream from the fountain of grace. A heart that has first been forgiven, and therefore healed, will speak not with its own rashness, but with the gentleness of Christ. Cease from your own wisdom, which is folly, and learn of Him who is meek and lowly in heart.

Bring your son and wife often in prayer to the great Physician. He needeth not that any should plead with many words; a sigh will reach His heart. He sees the fever, and He will come and touch them, and they shall arise and serve Him. And for yourself, continue to ask for that heavenly wisdom which is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated. When the mind is stayed on Him, it is kept in perfect peace. Let your expectation be from the Lord alone, and He will both heal and guide.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The soul that ever hangs over the fountain of divine matters, as you long to do, will indeed enjoy a great calm amidst all storms. You ask for a cool and calm mind, and for your words to come from the Lord, not from yourself. This is exactly right, for the wisdom you seek is not the wisdom of this world, which is coming to naught, it is Christ himself, putting his own things into your mind. When you say, "let it come from you," you have already begun to grasp the mystery: our own mind about these things, when purified and offered, becomes his mind.

Now, to obtain this, you must make your heart a tablet for the law of God. Do not merely hear the words of Scripture with your ears, but write them down in your mind when you retire home. Train your soul by this spiritual teaching as one tames an animal, for the power here is not of human intellect, but of the might and grace of the Spirit. The natural man cannot know divine things, but if you continually come to this house of healing and hang over this fountain, the devil will not even be able to look at you; from afar he will turn his back. This is how a cool and calm mind is secured, not by emptying yourself, but by filling yourself so completely with God's wisdom that no displeasing thing can annoy, and no favorable thing can puff you up.

You also plead for the healing of your son and wife. In this, consider that no one was more master of every circumstance than the Apostle, yet he did not point to his own power. It was the grace of the Spirit showing forth strength. Your very request for wisdom is itself a work of that grace. Therefore, cast yourselves entirely upon the mercy of the Lord, for the wise man is he who knows how to give thanks in all things, who genuinely considers the present life as nothing, and is therefore neither delighted with prosperity nor utterly grieved with the opposite condition. Your son and wife bear the image of God; entrust them to him who is the true Physician. A mind stayed upon him, which is a sober and healthful mind, knows that his will is best, even when the storm rages. Continue then in prayer and the hearing of the word, and you shall possess the great calm for which you ask.

The cry for Jesus to be the source of everything you speak and think is itself the starting place of true wisdom. When you ask that your words and thoughts come from him rather than yourself, you are aligning with what it means to have the mind of Christ, a mind that does not exalt its own way but submits fully to the Father. That humility opens the door to the wisdom from above. The fear of the Lord is exactly this reverence and surrender, and it remains the beginning point of all wisdom.

Wisdom is the principal thing. It is better than rubies, and nothing you could desire can be compared to it. More than a calm and collected temperament, this is about the Lord himself becoming your defense and your life. In Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, so seeking wisdom is ultimately seeking him. When his mind is formed in you, the restless mind of the flesh, which is death, gives way to the mind of the spirit, and that is always life and peace. That deep, cool calm you long for is the fruit of the Spirit’s rule over your inner man.

Your plea for your son and wife flows right from that same stream of wisdom. Wisdom instructs us to trust the Father’s goodness even when the path feels uncertain. The great temptation in times of need is to rely on our own frantic reasoning or to think that divine help depends on our perfect righteousness. Like that persistent cry, “Son of David, have mercy on me,” continue bringing them before the Lord, trusting his wisdom and his handling of your life and theirs. Real life is in the Son, and he who has the Son has life. His wisdom not only preserves, but it brings healing and life to all who have it. Get wisdom. Embrace her, do not forsake her, and she will keep you and guide your heart as you intercede for the ones you love.
