I know I should expect more than what I have right now I'm hoping for the lord to make something out of nothing, I read often but I don't know how to utilize and really be intimate dig deep in the word, I need desperately to have an effective relationship time with jesus I really desire to achieve something everyday I wake, lord forgive my family and friends that they can know who we are because we are Christians..

We hear your heart’s cry for deeper intimacy with the Lord, and we stand with you in seeking His presence and purpose in your life. Your desire to move beyond surface-level faith into a transformative, daily walk with Jesus is beautiful and aligns with His will for you. Let’s address this together, in the authority of His Word and the power of His Spirit.

First, we must rebuke any lie that suggests God cannot make something out of nothing in your life. Scripture declares, "For nothing is impossible with God" (Luke 1:37 WEB). Your hope is not misplaced, it is rooted in the One who spoke creation into existence and who delights in redeeming what seems broken or barren. But we must also examine what "expecting more" looks like. Are you seeking God’s best, or are you measuring your life by worldly standards of success, relationships, or material gain? Jesus warned, "For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul?" (Mark 8:36 WEB). True fulfillment comes not from circumstances but from Christ Himself.

Your struggle with Bible reading is common, but it is not insurmountable. The Word of God is alive and active (Hebrews 4:12 WEB), but it requires more than passive reading, it demands engagement, meditation, and obedience. We encourage you to approach Scripture not as a task, but as a love letter from your Heavenly Father. Start small: choose a book of the Bible (such as John or Ephesians) and read a short passage daily, asking the Holy Spirit to reveal its meaning. Write down insights, questions, and how it applies to your life. Journaling can help you "dig deep" and create space for intimacy with God. Remember, "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path" (Psalm 119:105 WEB). The Word is not just for knowledge, it is for transformation.

We also hear your longing for an "effective relationship time" with Jesus. This is not about checking a box or following a formula; it is about cultivating a heart posture of surrender and dependence. Jesus said, "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in me" (John 15:4 WEB). Abiding means resting in His presence, listening for His voice, and yielding to His will. Begin your day with a simple prayer of surrender: "Lord, I give You this day. Speak to me, guide me, and use me for Your glory." Then, throughout the day, practice His presence by turning your thoughts toward Him in moments of joy, frustration, or mundanity.

Your desire to "achieve something" each day must be reframed in light of God’s priorities. What if "achievement" looked like loving your neighbor, serving in humility, or sharing the gospel with someone who is lost? Jesus said, "Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven" (Matthew 5:16 WEB). Your life as a Christian is not about personal accomplishment but about reflecting Christ to a broken world. Ask God to show you how He wants to use you today, whether through an act of kindness, a word of encouragement, or simply being a vessel of His peace.

We must also address your prayer for your family and friends to "know who we are because we are Christians." This is a powerful intercession, but it must be accompanied by action. Jesus said, "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another" (John 13:35 WEB). Are you living in a way that makes your faith unmistakable? Does your life, your words, actions, and priorities, reflect the love, holiness, and grace of Christ? If not, repent and ask God to transform you from the inside out. Your testimony is not just what you say but how you live.

Now, let us pray together:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who makes all things new. Lord, we lift up our brother/sister to You, asking that You would draw them into deeper intimacy with You. Forgive them for any areas where they have measured their worth by worldly standards or sought fulfillment outside of You. Renew their mind by Your Word and ignite a passion in their heart to know You more.

Father, teach them how to abide in You. Open their eyes to the truths of Scripture and help them to meditate on Your Word day and night. May Your Holy Spirit guide them into all truth and reveal the depths of Your love. Break any chains of distraction, complacency, or unbelief that hinder their time with You.

Lord, we ask that You would redefine what "achievement" looks like in their life. May they find their purpose in You alone and seek to glorify You in all they do. Use them as a light in this dark world, that others may see Your goodness and be drawn to You.

We pray for their family and friends, Father. Soften their hearts and open their eyes to the truth of the gospel. Let Your love shine through our brother/sister so powerfully that there is no doubt they belong to You. Break any strongholds of sin, unbelief, or rebellion in their lives, and draw them to salvation in Jesus’ name.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would fill them with Your peace, joy, and hope. Remind them that You are their Provider, their Strength, and their Salvation. May they walk in the confidence of Your promises and the assurance of Your presence. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus. Amen."

We encourage you to press into God’s presence daily, trusting that He is faithful to complete the work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6 WEB). Seek fellowship with other believers who can sharpen you and hold you accountable. And remember, your identity is not found in what you achieve but in who you are in Christ, a beloved child of the Most High God. Keep seeking Him, and He will lead you into all truth.

We hear the depth of your longing, you genuinely want more of Jesus, not just to check a box but to know Him in the daily. That’s the kind of heart God draws close to, even when it feels clumsy or dry.

We find it helps to remember that intimacy with God isn’t something we force or achieve; it grows gradually, almost without our noticing, as we keep showing up. So the pressure to “accomplish something” every morning may actually work against the peace you’re seeking. You don’t have to dig deep every time; sometimes sitting quietly with one verse, turning it over in your mind, and simply telling Jesus what it stirs up is more fruitful than reading chapters you don’t absorb. You might try pausing after reading and asking, “Lord, what do You want me to see in this for today?” Then sit with whatever comes, even if it seems small.

You also mentioned family and friends, we join you in that ache. Your steady, imperfect walk with Christ is often the clearest message they’ll ever see. Keep loving them, keep living honestly, and keep praying.

Jesus, thank You for this honest desire to know You. Teach us to be with You in ways that fit how we’re made, not how we think we should be. Quiet the inner demand to “produce” and let us simply receive Your presence. Meet our friend in the Word today with one truth that sticks. And for the loved ones on this heart, we ask You to open their eyes, let them see something of You in the life before them. In Your name we pray, amen.

The very desire you have for a deeper, more intimate knowledge of the Word is not your own doing, it is Christ finding you, even as He found Philip before Philip sought Him. You say you hope for the Lord to make something out of nothing, but this is precisely His way. When you sit before the open page and feel your own powerlessness to dig deep, know that He who sees Nathaniel under the fig tree sees you in that very spot. The book will seem closed until that moment when a verse catches fire and speaks expressly of the Crucified One. Seek not first to master the text, but to be found by the Master in it. He brings the bread and the fish to weary fishers who have toiled all night and taken nothing.

Let your time with Him be real, not measured by the hour but by the touch. The woman in the press received healing without long embraces; a single moment of living contact with the hem of His garment sufficed. Do not torment yourself that you cannot pray as you wish, bring your emptiness and let that be the prayer. Thanksgiving must silver the wing of every petition; even now, recount the small daily load of benefits, and you shall find the peace that garrisons the heart. As for the forgiveness you plead for family and friends, remember that God bestows it upon the chief of sinners with delight, for the sake of His dear Son. Your own forgiveness, daily renewed, is your best argument for theirs. Go at once to your chamber, close the door, and let the quiet there be filled not with many words but with the simple showing of your need to Him who already knows. The breakfast He has spread is for cold, weary, unsuccessful souls, come and break your fast with Him now.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The longing you feel to dig deep into the Word and to know Christ intimately is itself a gift from Him. When you say you read often but do not know how to make it effective, do not lose heart. The holy Scriptures are a treasure hidden in a field, and a treasure does not yield itself to the one who merely glances at the surface. We must make effort equal to the value of what we seek. Set aside a portion of each day, not with a distracted mind, but with quiet and prayer. Before you open the book, kneel and ask the Lord Himself to open your eyes. Let your prayer be, “I am nothing; make something out of nothing, O Lord, for the sake of Your tender mercies.” He who sees the secret heart will answer that cry.

Once you read, do not hurry onward. Take a short passage, perhaps only a verse, and hold it in your mind. Repeat it, ponder it, and ask, “What does this teach me about Christ? What does it require of me? What promise does it hold?” Then let your heart speak back to God in praise or confession or petition. This is how the soul digests the heavenly bread and is nourished. Your desire to achieve something daily is right, but measure achievement not by great feelings but by the fruits of righteousness which come through Jesus Christ. Have you been more patient with a difficult person? Have you kept your tongue from complaint? Have you shown mercy? These are the real achievements that glorify God.

As for your family and friends, I hear the weight of your plea. But know this: to bear witness effectively, you must yourself be saturated with the life of Christ. Do not first try to persuade them with many words; rather, let them see the evidence of a changed life. Too many call themselves Christians while living in a way that makes the name appear empty. If you use marriage, work, and daily duties with moderation and for the glory of God, those things will not hinder you but become the very stage for your witness. Even a timid man, like Joseph of Arimathea, can be made bold by the death of Christ and go forward to honor Him. Do not fear for your loved ones; lift them up daily in prayer to God, who alone can open their hearts, and meanwhile let your own steady faith be the light they see.

You’re describing a hunger I believe God welcomes. That sense that there must be more than going through the motions, that waking each day should carry real weight and communion, is not a sign you’re failing. It is the pull of the very purpose for which you were made. From the beginning, God created us for fellowship with Himself. He didn’t design you merely to exist or just to read about Him. He made you to share in His love, to walk in the light with Him, and to know a joy that Peter calls inexpressible and full of glory. The frustration you feel is not the end; it is the starting point of asking Him to make that fellowship your lived experience.

When the desire to dig deep into Scripture feels overwhelming, start with the person of Jesus Himself. Luke is careful to show us Jesus constantly withdrawing to pray, living in that intimate contact with the Father even in His humanity. Your time in the Word doesn’t need to be a massive academic undertaking. It can begin by simply talking with Him about what you read, asking the Holy Spirit to make one truth real to you today. The goal is not to cover pages but to meet a Person. As you look at Jesus, you see the outshining of God. He said He is the light of the world, and if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with God. That word "fellowship" means sharing life together. You read a passage, you pause, and you say, "Lord, what does this mean for how I walk with You right now?" That is intimacy replacing mere information.

Being realistic means understanding that this doesn’t happen by accident. Daniel purposed in his heart. Paul spoke of a life of purpose, contrasting it with a world that just exists without real meaning. You can wake each day and, before your feet hit the floor, purpose in your heart that today belongs to Jesus. Purpose that you will not let the cares of this life crowd out His voice. Purpose that your body, your time, your thoughts are redeemed, bought with a price, and no longer your own. That daily decision, even when you don't feel it, builds the structure for an effective walk. You do it by faith, and the feeling of life and connection often follows.

As for your family and friends, your deep desire that they know who we are as Christians is itself a prayer the Lord hears. You don't have to have all the words. Paul’s life was one of long‑suffering, love, and patience, contrasted with the grasping patterns of the world. Let them see that contrast in you. Let them see someone who is being real with Jesus, not pretending to be perfect but genuinely seeking Him. When you fail, let them see you lean on the blood of Jesus that cleanses from all sin. That authentic, life‑changing relationship with Christ is what makes the name Christian mean something. It is not just a label; it is a witness that He is alive. You know He lives not only because the Scripture says so, but because He lives within your heart and you are talking with Him all day. Persist in that daily fellowship, and His grace will rest on your spirit, drawing you and those you love into the unsearchable riches found in Christ Jesus.
