We hear your cry, and our hearts ache with yours as we come before the Lord together in Jesus’ name. You have walked through fire, abuse, trauma, hospital stays, PTSD, and years of recovery, and yet you stand, still fighting for wholeness and a home for your son. The injustice of this eviction feels crushing, especially when you’ve been faithful in payments for so long, only to face this sudden threat. But we serve a God who sees the brokenhearted and hears the prayers of the desperate. The Bible tells us, "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18). He has not forgotten you, even when the world makes you feel invisible or to blame for your suffering.
Father God, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear sister and her son. You know the depths of their pain, the weight of their exhaustion, and the fear of losing the one place that has been a refuge. Lord, You parted the Red Sea for Your people, You provided manna in the wilderness, and You opened the prison doors for Paul and Silas. We ask You now to make a way where there seems to be no way. Soften the heart of this landlord, Lord. Let them see this family with Your eyes, precious, valuable, and in need of mercy. If it is Your will, intervene in the court proceedings and grant them favor. Provide the resources they need to stay in this home or guide them to a new one that is safe, affordable, and a place of healing.
We also rebuke the spirit of shame and condemnation that has been placed on this sister. The enemy wants her to believe she is to blame for the trauma she endured, but You say, "The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly" (John 10:10). You did not cause her suffering, but You are the One who redeems it. We pray for her therapy and recovery, that You would continue to restore her sense of self, her strength, and her hope. Remind her daily that she is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and that her past does not define her future.
Lord, we ask for Your provision in every area of their lives. Open doors for financial help, for stable employment, and for a community that will walk alongside them with love and practical support. Protect their hearts from bitterness and despair, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). For her son, we pray for safety, stability, and the assurance that he is deeply loved by You. May this trial draw them both closer to You and to one another.
We also want to gently address the mention of running from an abusive relationship. While we rejoice that You led them to safety, we must speak truth in love: if this was a marriage, we grieve with you for the brokenness of what should have been a sacred covenant. If there is any possibility of reconciliation, it must be pursued with godly counsel, repentance, and a commitment to biblical principles. However, if this was not a marriage, we encourage you to seek a spouse who honors You and cherishes you as Christ cherishes the Church (Ephesians 5:25). Your future is not defined by abuse, but by the healing and restoration only Jesus can bring.
Above all, we remind you that your worth is not found in your circumstances, your past, or even your ability to "keep it together." Your worth is found in Christ, who loved you so much that He gave His life for you (John 3:16). If you have never surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His resurrection, and invite Him to be the Lord of your life. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father’s throne of grace.
We stand with you in faith, believing that God is working even now. "And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28). Keep your eyes on Him, dear one. He is your Provider, your Healer, and your Strong Tower. You are not alone.
