Beloved Servant
Please pray for God to totally put certain things and people that came into my life in the past few months (or rather that I allowed in) out of it. The last few months had so much pain and negativity and worldly people that could have been avoided if I had not been rebellious in certain ways. Thank you.

We hear the honesty in your heart and we join with you in bringing this before the Lord, thanking you for humbly acknowledging that rebellion opened doors to pain and to worldly influences that brought negativity into your life. God honors a contrite heart and He is faithful to restore when we turn back to Him with repentance.

We are reminded of what Scripture says, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. And also, He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy Proverbs 28:13. Your willingness to own that you allowed these things and people in is the very place where God’s mercy meets you.

We also take seriously the warning about the company we keep, for we are told Don’t be deceived. Evil companionships corrupt good morals 1 Corinthians 15:33 and Therefore come out from among them, and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing. I will receive you 2 Corinthians 6:17. When we walk closely with worldly people, we inevitably absorb worldly ways, and the pain you have felt these past few months is a loving correction from the Lord calling you back to Himself. We encourage you to submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you James 4:7-8.

God does not want you to remain bound to what is behind you. He says, Don’t remember the former things, and don’t consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing. It springs out now Isaiah 43:18-19. And we are taught, forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus Philippians 3:13-14. He is able to completely put out of your life what does not belong there as you walk in obedience, guard your heart, and fill your life with His Word, with prayer, and with fellowship with believers who will strengthen you.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we gently want to remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. And, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, confessing Him as Lord, for with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation Romans 10:9-10.

We pray together now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You on behalf of this dear one. We thank You for Your mercy and for the conviction that has led to repentance. We ask You to forgive all rebellion and to cleanse from all unrighteousness. Create in us a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within us Psalm 51:10. We ask that You in Your power and love would totally remove from this life every person, influence, habit and attachment from these past months that is not of You and that has brought pain and negativity. Close every door that was opened in rebellion and open doors that lead to peace, holiness and joy in You. Give discernment to recognize worldly influences and give courage to walk away from them and to be separate unto You. Fill the empty places with Your presence, Your Word, and with godly fellowship. Help us to forget what is behind and to press forward in obedience, trusting that You are doing a new thing. We ask that You would guard this heart from returning to those old paths and establish steps in Your will. We pray all of this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our Lord, amen.

Thank you for sharing this so honestly. We hear both the regret over the last few months and a real desire to turn and leave those things behind you. Owning that you allowed certain people and influences in takes humility, and wanting to walk differently now is a good and hopeful step.

What you described is something many of us experience, feeling sorry is painful, but it doesn't by itself change the direction. What matters is the turn itself, choosing with God's help to go a different way and then taking the small, consistent actions that make that turn real.

One thing that often helps in a season like this is to get very practical and supported as you make that turn. You might take some quiet time to name clearly before the Lord what and who needs to be out of your life, and then remove the access where you can, clearing contacts, social media, places or habits that pull you back. And it helps not to do it alone. Consider inviting one steady, mature believer you trust to know what you are stepping away from and to check in with you weekly as you rebuild routine and boundaries.

We are praying for you and we care about what is ahead for you.

Father, we bring our friend before You and thank You for the honesty and desire for a clean break You have put in their heart. Grant wisdom to set clear boundaries, strength to keep them, and grace to heal from the pain of these months. Lead them day by day into what is healthy and pleasing to You and surround them with people who draw them closer to You. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your honest confession is itself a sign of grace at work, for the heart that truly sees its rebellion and calls it by its true name has already been touched by the Lord. You speak of pain and negativity and worldly company that you allowed in, and you rightly trace it to your own turning aside. It is well to have grace enough to see that tribulation comes from God, for He fills the bitter cup as well as the sweet goblet. What you have felt these months past has not sprung out of the dust, but the Lord Himself has kindled the furnace and sat as a Refiner at the door. That which we receive from the rod of the Lord bears the blessed aspect of chastening from a father's hand, and this makes even the sharpest smart to be profitable.

There is a kind of repentance that judgments alone may produce, which gives no glory to God and leads to no lasting deliverance from sin. It is fallen nature washed and brushed, but still fallen nature, and men may turn from sin for a time only to go back to it with greater gusto. Pray that yours may not be such, but that true repentance which is a hatred of sin and a turning from it and a determination in the strength of God to forsake it. Repentance which is unto life yields works meet for repentance and it lasts, for it is the daily and hourly duty of the man who believes in Christ. Faith and repentance are inseparable companions. Any repentance that keeps you from believing in Christ is a repentance that needs to be repented of, but the repentance that ejects sin as an evil tenant and the faith which admits Christ to be the sole master of the heart will together build you up.

Hear the good word of deliverance, for deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. We must look to our heavenly Father altogether and alone for it. He is gracious unto us and says, Deliver him from going down to the Pit, I have found a ransom. Nobody would have thought of that way of deliverance through a ransom if God had not thought of it, and He has found it in His own Son. The Lord Jesus Christ is that ransom, and through Him you may be saved from yourself and from all the attacks of your old sins, saved from the devil, saved from evil company, for God has said it.

So we pray for you that the Lord will keep back your soul from the Pit and your life from perishing, and that He will grant you a thorough cleansing. As David prayed, Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity and cleanse me from my sin, and blot out my transgressions from Your book and from my heart. May He teach you the mischief that comes from loving the world and the things thereof, so that its temptations shall tempt you in vain. May He cut off those entanglements which have brought you pain, and set your feet in a clean place, and give you strength to forsake what you now hate. And may He restore unto you the joy of His salvation, that you may live and declare the works of the Lord, saying with the psalmist, The Lord has chastened me sorely, but He has not given me over unto death.

Go on in this repentance and in simple faith in the gospel. Turn wholly to Christ, forsake the worldly paths that have wounded you, and walk in the way of holiness where peace is found.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your honest confession has been heard and we join you in prayer with thankfulness for the humility God has given you to see these past months clearly. The pain you describe and the recognition that rebellion opened the door to worldly influences is itself a sign of grace at work. Scripture speaks of a sorrow that is according to God, which works repentance unto salvation and brings no regret, and this is very different from worldly sorrow which only produces death and envy and emptiness. Your grief over sin is not to crush you but to lead you to turn fully to Christ.

God does not only call us to be freed from harmful people and entanglements, but to cultivate what remains. It is not enough to be delivered from outward things, we must also give ourselves to a careful hearing of His Word and continual remembrance of it, to fortitude, and to a settled turning away from worldly lusts and all that perishes with this present life. Those lusts are like idols and they darken the mind, but Christ is the light who delivers from error and dissolves that darkness. To deny ungodliness and worldly lusts means to put the greatest distance between ourselves and them, with hatred for the sin and love for Christ who alone saves.

We pray for you now. Father, we come to you through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we are saved. Have mercy upon this one who confesses rebellion and asks for deliverance. Forgive sin through the blood of Christ, cleanse the heart, and grant true repentance that bears fruit. Remove from this life every influence, relationship and habit that draws away from you, and close the doors that were opened in weakness. Fill the heart with your light, strengthen the will to stand firm, and help in hearing your Word daily and remembering it. Grant fortitude when temptation returns and teach contempt for worldly things so that what is holy is loved more. Restore joy, surround with godly fellowship, and make the path forward plain and pure. Keep this life guarded in Christ and let the coming months be marked by peace, obedience and growth in virtue. We ask this in the name of Jesus, our only hope. Amen.

Continue to walk in that godly sorrow which leads to joy, staying close to Scripture, to prayer and to the fellowship of believers who will help you remain steadfast. God is faithful to complete the good work He has begun as you continue to deny what is worldly and follow Christ with a whole heart.
