Behind me

Dhitlor

Beloved Servant
Please pray for God to totally put certain things and people that came into my life in the past few months (or rather that I allowed in) out of it. The last few months had so much pain and negativity and worldly people that could have been avoided if I had not been rebellious in certain ways. Thank you.

We join you in bringing this before the Lord and we thank Him for the honesty in your heart to recognize that some of the pain of these past few months came through your own choices and through allowing worldly people and influences into your life. That kind of humble confession is where healing begins, and we commend you for not blaming others but taking responsibility before God.

We want to lovingly rebuke that spirit of rebellion, not to condemn you but to call you back to the freedom of obedience. Scripture says rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft and stubbornness is as idolatry in 1 Samuel 15:23, and friendship with the world is hostility toward God in James 4:4. When we open the door to worldly people and worldly ways, we should not be surprised when pain and negativity follow, for we are warned not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers in 2 Corinthians 6:14 and to come out from among them and be separate in 2 Corinthians 6:17. God allows us to feel the consequences so that we will turn and seek Him with our whole heart. He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy in Proverbs 28:13.

There is great hope for you because God is merciful to forgive and to put the past truly behind you when you come to Him in repentance. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness in 1 John 1:9. He says do not remember the former things, and do not consider the things of old, behold, I will do a new thing in Isaiah 43:18-19. As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us in Psalm 103:12. We are to forget the things which are behind and stretch forward to the things which are before, pressing on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus in Philippians 3:13-14. That means we do not just ask God to remove people and things, we also actively turn away, submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you and draw near to God and he will draw near to you in James 4:7-8.

We noticed your request asked God for help but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me in John 14:6, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12. If you have not already, place your full trust in Jesus Christ who died for your sins and rose again, confess Him as Lord, and come to God through His name. It is by His blood that we are cleansed and by His name that our prayers are heard.

We pray together for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this dear one to You. We thank You for a heart that wants to be clean and to leave rebellion behind. We confess before You the times of disobedience and the doors that were opened to worldly influences and people who did not draw this life closer to You. Forgive and cleanse according to Your mercy, create in us a clean heart and renew a right spirit within us in Psalm 51:10. We ask You to totally remove from this life every ungodly tie, every relationship and influence that is not of You, and to close every door that should remain closed. Give wisdom and strength to cut off what needs to be cut off and to not look back. Fill the empty places with Your presence, with godly fellowship, and with a renewed mind that is transformed and not conformed to this world in Romans 12:2. Help this dear one to walk in obedience from this day forward, to find joy in Your will, and to know the peace that comes from being fully surrendered to You. We ask that You make all things new and lead forward into the future You have prepared. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior we pray, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so. Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We appreciate you being honest about this. It takes humility to look back and see where rebellion opened doors to pain and people you now want out of your life, and to ask God for a clean break.

We hear both regret and a real desire to move forward differently, and we are praying for you in that.

Part of that turning often involves learning to guard your heart well. Boundaries are like property lines that help you own what is yours to own, your time, choices, relationships, and protect what God is doing in you. Being connected to others does not mean you cannot say a clear yes or a clear no, and that freedom matters as you step away from what has hurt you.

One gentle next step that helps many people is to get specific and supported. You might quietly name the one or two contacts, places, or patterns that most pull you back toward that negativity, and then bring that list to one trusted pastor or mature Christian friend who can pray with you regularly and help you hold those lines when it feels awkward to do so. You do not have to sort all of this alone.

Father, we thank You that You hear a repentant heart and You do not turn away. We ask You to give our friend wisdom and strength to walk away from what has harmed them and to walk closer with You day by day. Guard their heart, surround them with healthy community, and give them peace as they trust You with what is behind and what is ahead. In Jesus name, amen.

Your honest confession is itself a token of mercy, and we thank God for it. You have not despised the riches of His goodness and forbearance and long suffering, but you have heard in it a call to repentance. It is the design of God in sparing sinners that He may lead them to turn to Him, and we rejoice that you now see the pain and negativity of these past months as the bitter fruit of rebellion, and desire to be separated from it.

True repentance is not a short lived sorrow which turns from sin for a time and then goes back to it with greater gusto. The repentance which is the work of the Spirit of God hates sin as sin, because there is a deadly poison in its sweetness, and therefore loathes it and leaves it. It gives God glory, it trusts in Christ who was nailed to the cross for it, and it finds that faith and repentance are inseparable. The repentance that ejects sin as an evil tenant is accompanied by the faith which admits Christ to be the sole master of the heart. The one pulls down, the other builds up.

You ask that God would put out of your life those things and persons which you allowed in. Scripture teaches us that there is a great gulf fixed between the precious and the vile, and the happier for the church and the better for the world when the line of demarcation is broad and clear. When the Church has been thoroughly distinct from the world, she has always prospered. To the righteous all things work together for good, but to those who forget God all things work together for evil. To continue to walk with worldly companions is to be as one who loves the world, and if we love the world the love of the Father is not in us, and we cannot walk with Him, for we are not agreed.

We will pray for you, that the Lord who healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds would do a complete work in you. We ask that He would deliver your soul from death, your eyes from tears and your feet from falling, and grant you an all over blessing from head to foot. May He lead you not into temptation but deliver you from evil, purge your soul from dead works, and fill it with living works by faith in Jesus Christ alone, through whose blood alone there is remission of sins. May He give you grace to examine yourself, to prove and try your heart, and to walk with God in unbroken fellowship, finding that to have the Holy Spirit is to have the pledge of joys to come.

Think of how God spared John Newton, the godless sailor, and brought him at last to preach free grace and dying love. So He has spared you in these months not to condemn you, but that His goodness might lead you speedily to repentance and to eternal life. Abide not in the old way, but stand in the ways and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and you shall find rest for your souls.

Father in heaven, I bring this dear one before You through Jesus Christ Your Son, in whom alone is salvation. Thank You for giving a heart that sees sin as sin and that sorrows in a godly way. Grant true repentance without regret, and wash away what has been done in rebellion. By Your grace teach and enable a complete denial of ungodliness and worldly lusts, and give strength to put a great distance between this life and those people and things that lead away from You. Remove from this life what does not belong there, and guard the heart and mind going forward. Give a careful hearing of Your Word, continual remembrance of it, and fortitude to walk in it. Fill the place where pain and negativity have been with Your peace, with sober and righteous living, and with hope in the appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ. Keep this one in Your mercy and lead into a life that is whole and pleasing to You. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
