Behind me

Dhitlor

Good and Faithful Servant
Please pray for God to totally put certain things and people that came into my life in the past few months (or rather that I allowed in) out of it. The last few months had so much pain and negativity and worldly people that could have been avoided if I had not been rebellious in certain ways. Pray for God to TOTALLY remove my ex and anyone else in his life who might try to affect mine from my life. Thank you.

We join with you in bringing this before the Lord and we hear the honesty in your heart as you acknowledge that some of this pain came from your own rebellion and from allowing worldly influences and people into your life that should not have been there. We thank God that you are turning to Him now wanting Him to cleanse and remove what does not belong.

The Word warns us plainly, Do not be deceived. Evil companionships corrupt good morals. 1 Corinthians 15:33 and Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship has righteousness and iniquity. Or what fellowship has light with darkness. 2 Corinthians 6:14 When we open the door to relationships and influences that do not honor God, especially outside of His design for marriage between a man and a woman, pain and negativity often follow. If there was sexual intimacy outside of marriage with this ex or any other relationship, the Bible calls that fornication and it is sin before God that needs to be confessed and forsaken. We also want to lovingly rebuke the rebellious spirit you mentioned, for rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft and God calls us to submit to Him and resist the enemy. James 4:7-8 says Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.

There is great hope because God is merciful to forgive and to restore when we repent. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 We also take comfort that God does not want you to remain trapped in the past. Do not remember the former things, and do not consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing. Isaiah 43:18-19 and Forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14 The Lord can and will put behind you what needs to be behind you as you walk in obedience, guard your heart, and close doors that were wrongly opened. Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life. Proverbs 4:23

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 It is by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are saved and our prayers are heard. If you have not already, place your full trust in Him for forgiveness and new life, for if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17

We pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You. We ask for Your mercy and forgiveness for every act of rebellion and for every door opened to worldly people and influences that did not honor You. Create in us a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within us. Psalm 51:10 Wash us by the blood of Jesus and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Lord, we ask that You would totally remove this ex and anyone connected to him who would try to affect or harass or pull back into old patterns. Cut every ungodly soul tie and close every door that was opened in disobedience. Help us to walk in wisdom to set firm boundaries, to not answer, to not look back, and to not be drawn back into fornication or unequal yoking or worldly counsel. Fill the empty places with Your presence, with godly fellowship, and with peace. Transform us by the renewing of our minds that we may prove what is Your good and acceptable and perfect will. Romans 12:2 Lead us forward into purity and holiness and if it is Your will for marriage, prepare us for a godly spouse and a courtship that honors You and leads to a lifelong marriage that glorifies Christ. We thank You that You make all things new and that You put the past behind us as we press on with You. We pray all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to stay close to the Lord daily in prayer and in the Word, to fellowship with mature believers who will keep you accountable, and to deliberately remove contact and access where needed so that the enemy has no foothold. God is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you as you walk in obedience.

We are grateful you reached out and were so honest about these last few months. It takes humility to name the pain and to see where choices opened the door to it, and it also takes courage to want a clean break and a different direction. We hear how heavy this has been and how much you want distance from your ex and the people around him so you can heal.

A helpful way we think about this season is learning to guard your heart well. A boundary is simply like a property line that helps you know what is yours to own and protect, your time, energy, choices and relationships, so you can stay connected to God and free to give a clear yes and a clear no. When that line has been blurred, rebuilding it is part of healing.

One steady next step that often helps is to make your external boundaries clear and supported. You might decide in advance what contact, if any, is wise right now, including stepping back from social media or messages that pull you back in, and ask one trusted mature friend or pastor to know your decision and help you keep it. Having another person alongside you makes it much less lonely to follow through.

We do not believe God meets your honesty with shame. He meets you with grace to walk forward one faithful choice at a time.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus' name. Bring peace where there has been pain and confusion, cover them with Your protection and give clear wisdom for each decision ahead. Heal what is wounded, strengthen their resolve to walk in Your ways, and surround them with healthy community that encourages that path. Lead them into what is good and life giving. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your honest confession before the Lord is heard, and we join our hearts with yours in prayer at the throne of grace. There is a repentance which is worked in the renewed heart by the Holy Spirit, a repentance that is a hatred of sin and a turning from it and a determination in the strength of God to forsake it, and we thank God that He has shown you the pain and vanity of the rebellious path and the company of worldly influences.

We pray as the Psalmist prayed, Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. If washing will not do, use fire, use blood, use anything, but cleanse me. Hide Your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquities. When You have blotted them from Your Book of Remembrance, then blot them from me too. Cast me not away from Your Presence, but restore unto me the joy of Your salvation. May the Lord make you feel the weight of sin that you may know also the power of Him who alone can heal, for only He who wounds can bind up, and He makes each broken bone to sing again.

We ask the Lord to set you apart wholly unto Himself and to remove far from you those ties and persons that have brought pain and negativity into your life. We pray that He would preserve you from all evil and preserve your soul, and keep you from the pestilence that walks in darkness, even from insidious and deceitful errors and sins. As it is written, save yourselves from this generation by coming boldly out from among the ungodly, so we pray that God would grant you grace to be separate, that no former companion nor any other who would seek to affect your life for harm would have influence over you, but that the Lord Himself would be your portion and your protection, and that every remnant of that former bondage would be put behind you.

We pray that this repentance may glorify God by setting you ever afterwards craving after holiness, for the burnt child dreads the fire. May faith and repentance come into your soul together, the repentance which ejects sin as an evil tenant and the faith which admits Christ to be the sole master of the heart, the repentance which pulls down and the faith which builds up. Do not seek to draw up repentance from the depths of your own heart as you might draw water from a well, but ask Christ to work repentance in you by His Holy Spirit through belief of the truth as it is in Jesus.

Remember that the goodness of God leads to repentance. He has spared you and borne with you in longsuffering not to leave you in sin, but to lead you to Christ. Cling to Him and to Him alone, for by Him all that believe are justified from all things. May the least things that have to do with Christ, yea the very leaves of the tree of life, be for your healing, purging you from every form of rebellion and filling you with living works unto His glory. May He keep your feet from returning to those lions dens and mountains of the leopards from which His love has caught you away.

We pray that the Lord will answer according to His abundant mercy, that He will cleanse, keep, restore and establish you in the way of holiness, and that you may walk henceforth in newness of life, finding all your hope and joy in Jesus Christ alone. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have heard your honest prayer and we join you in bringing it before the Lord. You have spoken openly about pain in these past months, about allowing people and influences into your life that brought negativity, and about seeing your own rebellion in that. That kind of honesty is the beginning of a true turning to God.

God is longsuffering toward us. He does not sweep away His people quickly, but offers salvation through repentance and gives time and grace for an excellent change to take place. That is why even after great falls, men like David could reap the salvation that comes by repentance, and why those who had fallen from grace could be restored when they turned again to Christ. There is hope for you, not because the pain was small, but because God is patient and desires to form Christ in you.

At the same time Scripture warns us not to treat repentance lightly. One man sought a blessing with tears but found no place of repentance, because his tears were not true repentance. He still intended to do evil. True repentance is not only regret for the consequences, but a real turning of the heart to God, a forsaking of what is wrong and a desire to walk in His way. God sees the difference, and He receives the one who comes to Him with a humble and sincere heart through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we are saved.

If we remain unyielding, we treasure up wrath for ourselves, not because God is unwilling to forgive, but because we refuse the longsuffering and calling He extends to us. But if we return to Him, He is faithful to forgive and to cleanse, and to give strength to walk worthily of the calling we have received, with lowliness and meekness and patience.

So we pray for you in this way.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your longsuffering and mercy, and for the salvation that comes through Jesus Christ alone. We bring this soul before You who confesses rebellion and pain and asks for deliverance. Grant true repentance, not only sorrow for hurt but a full turning to You. Wash away sin through the blood of Christ, and renew the heart by Your Holy Spirit. Cut off harmful ties and worldly influences that have brought pain, and set a guard around this life. We ask that You would remove the ex and any others connected to him from having influence or access, and give wisdom and strength to set godly boundaries and to keep them. Heal the wounds of these past months, and lead into a walk that is pure and holy before You. Help to live according to Your design, where marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman and where intimacy belongs only within that covenant, and give grace to walk in purity and self control. Form Christ more fully within, and keep this life in the bond of Your peace. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to stay close to the Lord in His Word and in prayer, to stay in fellowship with faithful believers who will help you walk this out, and to make practical steps to close doors to old influences. God is able to keep you and to restore you as you continue to turn to Him.
