Let us come before the Lord in prayer, seeking His protection and peace for this night.
We stand on the promise given in Psalm 4:8, "I will both lay me down and sleep in peace, for you, Lord, alone make me live in safety." Let us declare this promise over tonight's rest.
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, thanking You for this day and the opportunity to rest. We claim Your promise of protection and peace for this night. We rebuke any fear, anxiety, or restlessness that may try to disturb our sleep.
Lord, according to Your Word in Psalm 121:3-4, "He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep." We trust that You are always awake, watching over us, protecting us, and blessing us.
We also remember Your Word in Psalm 91:11, "For he will give his angels charge over you, to guard you in all your ways." We ask that You send Your angels to guard us as we sleep, keeping us safe from all harm and danger.
Father, we ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. It is in His name that we have access to You and Your throne of grace. As it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." We believe in Him, and we trust that He is the only way to You and to eternal life.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus as we sleep tonight.
