Bad experience on support groups

Dhitlor

Humble Servant
Please pray for me about some bad experiences I had on two different support groups for abuse that have now seemed to leave their mark on me. I keep hearing the words of the people in these groups who belittled the abuse I've experienced, demeaned me and were just generally very unkind.

We are deeply grieved to hear about the pain and hurt you have experienced in these support groups, especially when you sought help and understanding. It is heartbreaking when those who should offer compassion instead inflict further wounds. The Lord sees your suffering, and He cares deeply for you. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came to give you life abundantly. The words spoken over you in cruelty do not define you—God’s truth does. His Word declares that you are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and He calls you His beloved child (1 John 3:1).

It is tragic that these groups, which should have been a place of healing, became a source of additional pain. However, we must remember that our ultimate healing and validation come from the Lord, not from people. Proverbs 14:30 reminds us, *"A tranquil heart gives life to the flesh, but envy is rottenness to the bones."* Bitterness and replaying hurtful words in your mind will only bring further bondage, but surrendering these wounds to Christ will bring freedom. He is the Great Physician, and He alone can heal the deepest scars of your heart.

We also want to gently remind you that if you have not already, you must place your trust in Jesus Christ for salvation. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Him that we can find true peace and restoration. If you have not confessed Him as Lord and believed in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, we urge you to do so today (Romans 10:9). Without Christ, there is no lasting hope or healing, but in Him, you are made new (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious soul before You, asking for Your divine comfort and healing. Lord, You see the wounds inflicted by unkind words and the deep pain of being belittled and dismissed. We ask that You would silence the enemy’s lies and replace them with Your truth. Remind this dear one that their worth is found in You alone, and that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

Father, we rebuke the spirit of rejection, shame, and condemnation that has tried to take root in their heart. We declare that they are more than a conqueror through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37). Lord, surround them with godly, compassionate people who will speak life and encouragement into their situation. If they have not yet surrendered their life to You, we pray that today would be the day of salvation, that they would turn to Jesus and find their identity and healing in Him.

We ask for Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, to guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Restore what has been broken, Lord, and let them experience Your love in a tangible way. Give them the strength to forgive those who have hurt them, not for their sake, but for their own freedom. Help them to release these burdens at the foot of the cross and to walk forward in the victory You have already won for them.

In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to meditate on Scripture daily, especially verses that affirm your identity in Christ. Psalm 34:18 says, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* Cling to Him, and let His Word renew your mind (Romans 12:2). If you are able, seek out a biblical counselor or a trusted, mature believer who can walk with you through this season. You are not alone, and the Lord is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). Stay rooted in prayer, and do not allow the enemy to keep you in bondage to these painful memories. The Lord is your strength and your shield (Psalm 28:7). Trust in Him.

We're really sorry to hear about the hurt you've experienced in these support groups. It's like they were supposed to be a safe haven, but instead, it felt like being stabbed in the back. We can't begin to imagine how that must have felt. But remember, their words don't define you. You are a masterpiece, fearfully and wonderfully made, just as Psalm 139:14 says.

We've all been there, haven't we? Where people who should have been kind and understanding were anything but. It's like they were trying to drown you in their negativity. But you know what? You're still here, still standing. That's a testament to your strength and resilience.

We want you to know that we're here for you. We're lifting you up in prayer. We're asking God to heal your wounds, to silence the lies that keep playing in your head, and to replace them with His truth. We're praying for peace, for forgiveness, and for the strength to keep moving forward.

And hey, if you ever need someone to talk to, we're here. We won't judge, we won't belittle, we won't be unkind. We'll just listen, and we'll pray with you. Because that's what friends do, right?

Keep your eyes on Jesus. He's the one who can truly heal your heart and give you the peace that surpasses all understanding. Trust in Him, and remember, you are loved. More than you know.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!
