Servant
Im going through a prolonged period where everything in every category is caving in on me at the same time...much like Job when one messenger after another came to him to tell him a new thing went wrong.Like everything collapsing on me.In the past,I might have one thing to face but others would hold up.Or bad DAYS but after that the cycle would shift and go up again. Now is different like everything in every category and not a bad DAY, but an ongoing cycle. Why things have worsened to this degree..?But I certainly dont like it

We hear the weight of what you are carrying and we join with you in bringing it before the Lord, for we know how heavy it feels when trials do not come one at a time but all at once, like wave after wave with no time to catch your breath. You described it so well as being like Job when messenger after messenger came with more bad news, and we understand why you feel overwhelmed and why you are asking why this season has become so prolonged and so all encompassing.

The Scriptures show us that prolonged seasons of testing are real and that even the righteous experience them. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all Psalm 34:19. Job himself said in the midst of his loss, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return there. Yahweh gave, and Yahweh has taken away. Blessed be Yahweh's name Job 1:21. Job did not understand why everything collapsed at once, and God did not immediately explain the why, but He revealed His sovereignty and His nearness through it and in the end Yahweh restored Job's prosperity when he prayed for his friends. Yahweh gave Job twice as much as he had before Job 42:10.

We want to encourage you that God is not absent in this ongoing cycle, even when it feels different from past hard days that eventually lifted. He sees the length of this trial and He has purpose in it. Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing James 1:2-4. And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28. That does not mean the pain is good, but that God is able to weave even this painful prolonged season into good for your soul, to refine you, to deepen your dependence on Him, and to produce an eternal weight of glory, for our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory 2 Corinthians 4:17.

We also notice your request does not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why that matters so much to us. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that we are saved and heard. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust fully in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name not only for rescue in this trial but for eternal life. It is through His name we can come boldly to God even with questions and weariness.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. You see the prolonged breaking, the way everything seems to be caving in at once, the exhaustion of an ongoing cycle with no relief. Lord, we ask You to be near as You have promised, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. Grant wisdom to understand what You are teaching, grant endurance to stand, and grant peace that surpasses understanding even while the storm continues. We ask that You would perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle this one after suffering a little while, as You have promised But may the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you 1 Peter 5:10. Provide tangible help, open doors that have been closed, restore what has been lost, and lift this burden in Your perfect timing. Help this dear one to keep eyes fixed on Jesus, to remain in Your Word daily, to cry out honestly in prayer, and to stay connected to fellow believers who can bear this burden alongside. Let this season not produce bitterness but deeper trust, and let Your name be blessed even here. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our hope and our access to You, amen.

We encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer and in the Word, to pour out your heart honestly before the Lord as Job and David did, and to not walk this prolonged valley alone. Seek godly fellowship, share your burdens, and remember that God measures this season not as endless but as a little while in light of eternity, and He is faithful to deliver. We are standing with you and asking God to bring the shift from this heavy cycle into a season of restoration and rest in Him.

We hear how exhausting this has been, when it is not just one hard day but week after week where another thing gives way. You described it so well, like Job hearing from one messenger after another, and finally there is no steady ground left to stand on. It makes sense you would be asking why this cycle has deepened and feeling worn down by it.

When trouble touches every category at once, it is especially draining because the usual places we catch our breath are also under strain. It does not mean you have done something wrong or that God has stepped away, even when it can feel that way in a long season.

We have found it helps not to try to untangle every why or fix every area at once. One small step that often steadies people in a prolonged stretch like this is letting one trusted person in close, not to give answers, but simply to be present with you. Whether that is a pastor, a faithful friend, or a small group leader, someone who will sit with you, listen without rushing to explain, and walk beside you in the coming weeks can make the weight a little less isolating.

We are carrying this with you in prayer.

Father, You see the weight our friend is carrying and how long this hard cycle has lasted. Draw near with Your presence and comfort when answers feel far away. Give wisdom for the next step, strength for today, and faithful people nearby to share the burden. Lead with Your kindness in the days ahead. In Jesus name, Amen.

Your description of messenger after messenger, and of trial upon trial until every category of life seems to cave in at once, is the very picture of Job in his affliction. You have well likened your state to his, and I commend your case to the same God who tried him.

Job was at that time in very deep distress, and it is essentially necessary to some trials that God should withdraw the light of His countenance for a season. You ask why things have worsened to this degree and why the cycle does not shift as in former days when one trouble was balanced by mercies elsewhere. The answer is not to be found in supposing that you have sinned beyond others. The Spirit of God bears witness that Job was perfect and upright, one that feared God and eschewed evil, and yet his stroke was heavier than his groaning. Times are not hidden from the Almighty, though they that know Him may not see His days. He knows where you are, though you may say with Job, Behold, I go forward, but He is not there, and backward, but I cannot perceive Him.

In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. That is to say, under all the losses of his estate and the sorrows of his house he did not speak in an unworthy manner against the Lord. Here was the triumph of a gracious spirit. He was not swift to complain, and he did not utter unbelieving speeches. Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him, was the ultimatum of his faith. He was confident that the Lord was just, even when he could not understand the reason for his suffering. I pray that the same grace may be given to you, that you may be kept from charging God foolishly and may be enabled to trust Him where you cannot trace Him.

Remember also that our longest sorrows have a close, and there is a bottom to the profoundest depths of our misery. The Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends. So shall He bring you up again rejoicing from the land of your captivity, and turn your mourning into dancing in His own time. Job, even in temporals, received at last twice as much as he had before, and his glory was made fresh again. So it is written, I shall be anointed with fresh oil. There is hope yet, for there is ground of confidence. He that has loosed your bonds in Christ will bind you to His service forever, and for your soul you have the sure and certain hope that you shall be with Christ where He is, to behold His glory.

Do as Job did and make your approach unto the Lord in childlike confidence even when He seems to frown. He heard God, and then he had a more vivid apprehension of Him, and he retracted all his pleadings and yielded unreservedly to his Maker, knowing that we are wrong and God must be right. Pour out your complaint before Him, plead the promises, and drop your prayer into the ground with hope. And as Job prayed for those who had spoken harshly of him, so seek grace to pray for others even in your ashes. You will find that to visit the tried and to plead for them often brings resignation to your own trials.

We will pray for you that your reason may be spared, that your faith may not fail, and that you may be upheld as Job was. May the Lord give you patience in this prolonged night, keep you from sin in thought and word, reveal Himself more clearly to you through the trial, and in His good season anoint you with fresh oil and turn your captivity as He did for His servant Job. Look to Him for this divine support, for if He could uphold Job in all this, He can assuredly support you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

What you are carrying is heavy, and the picture you give from Job is very fitting, when one messenger came hard upon another and there was no pause to take breath between blows. It is one thing to face a single hard trial while other supports remain, and another to feel everything in every category press in at once and not for a day only but as an ongoing season. It is understandable that you do not like it and that you ask why it has worsened to this degree.

Scripture does not teach that such a season means you have been forsaken by God. There is a reason trials are permitted that we easily forget in the pain itself. When God tested Abraham, it was not because He needed to learn what Abraham was, but so that Abraham's faithfulness might be made manifest to others and his fortitude shown openly. In the same way trials make a person approved. Some trials happen by God's allowance and some even by His command, as with Abraham, and if God exercises His own athletes even when there is no other occasion, how much more should we bear nobly what He allows now. The trial itself becomes the proof that He is still at work with you, not that He has left you.

It is also true that the life of faith is not a path free from sorrow. Job said in his own day that the life of man upon earth is a state of trial, and the Lord Jesus said in the world you shall have tribulation. The strait and narrow way by its nature brings grief and pressure, so that no one who seeks to live in a godly way should think it strange when afflictions come. Your experience of an extended cycle rather than a single bad day is part of what many faithful people have known, that trials often come not singly but together, and not quickly passing.

Yet these very trials have a gain hidden in them when they are borne with endurance. They show the power of God and make His grace more visible, for His word to Paul remains true, My grace is sufficient for you. They anoint the soul to lowliness of mind and keep us from pride, they make us more hardy, and they become the means by which the life of Christ is manifested in our bodies as He carries us through perils that would otherwise overwhelm us. What seems to be weakness and destitution becomes a proclamation that He still delivers and still sustains.

Therefore the call to you now is to perseverance, especially in prayer. Do not limit prayer to certain times of day, but pray without ceasing and watch in it with perseverance. You have heard of the widow who by her importunity prevailed, and of the friend who at midnight by his persistence shamed his friend into rising, and of the Canaanite woman who though first answered with hard words still persevered and by constancy called forth the Lord's compassion. Though we are unworthy, we often by perseverance make ourselves ready to receive. God honors that continued asking, seeking, and knocking.

This is also a time for much prayer, much endurance, and quiet self examination before God. Not every worsening has one simple earthly explanation that we can see, but every season of pressure is a call to cling more closely to Christ, through whom alone is salvation, and to stand fast in the Lord. If you are in Christ, nothing that touches you is outside His knowledge or beyond the reach of His grace.

I will pray for you, that God will comfort you in this distress, that He will give you strength to stand fast and not be moved by the weight of these trials, that He will make His sufficient grace known to you day by day, and that He will in His good time lift this heavy cycle and use even this long trial to show His power and to prepare you more fully for the good things He has promised. Keep bringing every burden to Him openly and continually, and do not grow weary in asking, for He hears and He has not forgotten you.
