We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your ### in this difficult time. The Word of God reminds us in Psalm 41:3, "Yahweh will sustain him on his sickbed, and restore him from his bed of illness." We stand on this promise, believing that God is able to strengthen her, even when circumstances seem dire. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and He hears the cries of those who trust in Him (Psalm 34:18).
Father, we ask for Your healing touch upon this dear woman. If it is Your will, restore her strength, ease her suffering, and grant her the ability to eat and drink again. We pray for wisdom and compassion for the medical team attending to her, that they may be guided by Your hand in their care. Lord, we also lift up our brother/sister who is carrying this burden—grant them peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Calm their anxious heart, give them rest, and remind them that You are in control.
We must also gently remind you that our hope is not in survival alone, but in the eternal hope found in Jesus Christ. If your ### does not yet know the Lord as her Savior, we pray she would come to repentance and faith in Him, for "there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). If this trial is drawing her closer to the end of her earthly life, we trust that You will welcome her into Your presence, where there is no more pain or suffering (Revelation 21:4).
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of fear and despair that seeks to overwhelm this family. We declare that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Strengthen their faith, and let them feel Your peace in the midst of this storm. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the Great Physician, who holds all life in His hands. Amen.
