Beloved Servant
I'm currently going through a lot mentally and emotionally. I also feel very abandoned by God when it comes to certain trials I am dealing with. For the past few years, since leaving the new age, I have been constantly attacked by spiritual warfare that mainly uses other people who are vulnerable to being used to target me. Although these people often show remorse for their actions and the behavior stops if I ignore it, I am currently in a mental space where I do not feel like dealing with any environments where I have to experience these attacks. One of the environments where I've dealt with these attacks has been in church. I really don't want to go to church tomorrow for this reason. I didn't go to church last Sunday either partially for the same reason. I also didn't attend Bible study yesterday for the same reason. Please pray for me about this. This warfare increases sometimes when I don't go to church but I just can't take it. Thank you.

We hear your cry, dear brother or sister in Christ, and we stand with you in the gap, lifting you up before the throne of grace. The spiritual warfare you are enduring is real, and the enemy seeks to isolate you, to make you feel abandoned, and to drive a wedge between you and the body of Christ, the very place where you should find refuge, strength, and fellowship. But we declare that you are not abandoned. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and He hears the cries of His children (Psalm 34:18). The attacks you face are not a sign of His absence but an opportunity for His power to be made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

First, we must address the lie that God has abandoned you. The enemy wants you to believe this so that you will withdraw from the very means of grace God has provided, His Word, prayer, and the fellowship of believers. But Scripture assures us that God will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). Even when we do not feel His presence, He is there. Even when we do not see His hand at work, He is moving. The psalmist cried out, "Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God" (Psalm 42:11). We encourage you to preach this truth to your own heart when the feelings of abandonment arise.

The spiritual attacks you describe are not uncommon for those who have turned away from the deceptions of the new age and embraced the truth of the Gospel. The enemy does not relinquish his grip easily, and he will use people, even those who may not fully realize what they are being used for, to try to discourage, distract, and derail you. But we take authority over these attacks in the name of Jesus Christ, who has already disarmed the powers and principalities through His death and resurrection (Colossians 2:15). We rebuke the spirit of fear, isolation, and discouragement that seeks to keep you from gathering with the saints. The enemy knows that there is power in corporate worship, prayer, and the preaching of the Word, and he will do all he can to keep you from it. But we declare that you are not given a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).

We must also gently but firmly address your withdrawal from church and Bible study. While we understand the pain and exhaustion you are experiencing, isolation is not the answer. The writer of Hebrews exhorts us, "Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near" (Hebrews 10:24-25). The enemy wants you to believe that staying away will protect you, but in reality, it leaves you more vulnerable. The body of Christ is meant to be a place of healing, accountability, and mutual edification. When one member suffers, we all suffer (1 Corinthians 12:26). We urge you to resist the temptation to withdraw and to press into the very places where God has promised to meet you.

We also want to encourage you to examine your heart and your environment. Are there areas where you may be giving the enemy a foothold? Ephesians 4:27 warns us not to give place to the devil. This could include unforgiveness, bitterness, or even patterns of thought that align more with the new age mindset than with Scripture. We are not suggesting that you are to blame for the attacks, but we are called to be sober-minded and watchful, for our adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8). Put on the full armor of God so that you may stand against the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:11). This includes the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our dear brother/sister who is enduring intense spiritual warfare and feeling the weight of isolation and abandonment. Lord, we ask that You would break the chains of discouragement and fear that the enemy has wrapped around their heart and mind. Remind them of Your unfailing love and Your promise never to leave or forsake them. Let them feel Your presence in a tangible way, even in the midst of the storm.

Father, we rebuke every spirit of fear, confusion, and isolation that seeks to keep them from Your presence and the fellowship of believers. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we take authority over every scheme of the enemy in Jesus’ name. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to stand firm on the truth of Your Word. Give them the courage to return to the gathering of the saints, knowing that You are with them and that Your body is there to support, encourage, and uplift them.

Lord, we ask that You would heal their heart from the wounds inflicted by others, whether intentional or not. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Help them to forgive those who have been used as instruments of the enemy, just as You have forgiven them. Teach them to walk in wisdom and discernment, and to put on the full armor of God daily so that they may stand against the attacks of the evil one.

Father, we also ask that You would surround them with godly believers who can walk alongside them, pray with them, and speak life into their situation. Provide them with a church family that is rooted in Your Word, filled with Your Spirit, and committed to loving one another as You have loved us. Let them experience the joy of fellowship and the power of corporate worship and prayer.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would use this season of trial to draw them closer to You. Let them see Your hand at work even in the midst of the battle. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Fill them with hope for the future and the assurance that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).

We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the One who has conquered sin, death, and the grave. Amen.

We encourage you to take small steps toward re-engaging with your church family. You do not have to face this alone. Reach out to a trusted pastor, elder, or mature believer in your church and share what you are going through. Ask them to pray with you and for you. Remember, the enemy wants you to believe that you are alone, but the truth is that you are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses (Hebrews 12:1), and the Lord Himself is your ever-present help.

If you have not already, consider finding a mentor or accountability partner within the church, someone who can walk with you through this season, pray with you, and help you stand firm in your faith. The body of Christ is not perfect, and you may encounter people who disappoint or hurt you, but do not let the actions of a few cause you to abandon the whole. The church is the bride of Christ, and He loves her dearly. Seek out those who are faithful to the Lord and His Word, and cling to them.

Lastly, immerse yourself in Scripture. The Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). It is your weapon against the lies of the enemy. When you feel attacked or abandoned, declare the promises of God over your life. Memorize verses that speak to your situation and meditate on them day and night. Let the truth of God’s Word be the foundation upon which you stand.

You are not forgotten. You are not abandoned. You are deeply loved by the Creator of the universe, and He is fighting for you. Stand firm, dear one, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). The battle is already won, and victory is yours in Christ Jesus.

We ache with you over this, the sheer exhaustion of feeling targeted, and the deep loneliness of sensing God is distant while it happens. When even church feels unsafe, that cuts very deep. We don’t take that lightly.

Something we notice: you said these people often show remorse and the behavior stops when you ignore it. That suggests you are not dealing with a fixed, relentless conspiracy, more like a pattern of agitation that flares up and then settles. That doesn’t make it less draining, but it might mean there’s room to change how you protect your own peace right now without guilt.

It’s okay to press pause on Sunday mornings for a season if corporate worship has become a trauma trigger. Isolation can amplify struggles, yes, but forcing yourself back before your soul can breathe rarely helps either. What might serve you better this week is a small, low-pressure connection instead. Is there one person in that church, or a mature believer elsewhere, who has shown you safety and level-headedness? Someone who wouldn’t jump to dramatic conclusions but would simply pray with you? A brief walk together, a quiet coffee, a short phone call, something that reconnects you to the body without the chaos of a full service. That’s not running away; it’s pacing the battle wisely.

We also just want to say: leaving the new age is a major upheaval. Spiritual realignment often brings a season of fierce pushback, and the weariness you feel is not a character defect, it’s the cost of swimming against currents that used to feel normal. You’re not crazy, and you’re not abandoned, even though it feels that way right now.

Lord Jesus, you see this weary heart. You know what it is to be hounded and to crave a safe place. Shelter our friend in ways we cannot arrange, bring even one steady companion, and quiet the noise enough for rest to return. You do not despise the exhausted. Hold them fast. Amen.

You speak of feeling abandoned by God in your trials, yet this very sensation is often the shadow cast by a great light drawing near. The work of grace in the heart is, from its alpha to its omega, wholly the Lord’s. We ascribe nothing to man, but all to God. When the soul is being turned from darkness, the adversary redoubles his fury, and he will use any vessel, even within the visible assembly, to buffet the pilgrim. You have left the new age, and that enmity has been stirred. Do not think it strange, then, if the conflict intensifies.

The church is not a parlor for the perfectly at ease; it is a spiritual temple being built for the Most High. If the evil one can delay its uprising, he will stick at nothing. He cares not whether he uses the open scorn of the world or the unwitting vulnerabilities of the saints to drive a wounded one back into isolation. Your feeling of being targeted through others is a known device. Yet to withdraw from the gathering is to grant him a temporary victory. You say the warfare increases when you do not go. This is no mystery; the Good Shepherd gathers the sheep into the fold, and the wolf delights to find one alone upon the darkling plain. A Christian isolated from the visible communion is like a coal pulled from the hearth, its flame soon expires.

But see how you misread the hand of God. You say you cannot endure the environment. Yet I ask, is the church sustained by the faultlessness of its members, or by the indwelling of the Holy Ghost? No child of God is fitted into the Church by man, God alone puts him into his proper position. If you are in Christ, you are a living stone, and the great Architect is pressing you into a place that hurts for the moment but secures the whole edifice. Do not despise the Church because you find frail humanity there. Rather, remember that God’s work needs God’s own arm. This is the very reason you must be where the Word is preached, where the ordinances are observed, where the saints bow together in prayer for one another. It is by the Word of God applied by the Holy Spirit that we are cleansed, not by our own strategies of avoidance.

Your present mind is telling you that you cannot take it. That is true. You cannot. But Christ can, and He is in the midst of His church, even a poor and imperfect one. When the Church of God believes in God and goes forward bravely, she need not trouble as to supplies. This is as true of grace as of gold. A doctrine of ease is no doctrine of Christ. We are a militant Church, a very imperfect one, with cause to mourn and humble herself. Yet our safety is not in running from the fray but in abiding steadfast in the apostle’s doctrine and in fellowship. The only sounds that shall be heard from her ultimately are songs of joy and peace, but now we hear the clash of armor. Do not flee the ranks.

Therefore, look not to men for your peace; they will always fail you. Confer with flesh and blood only after solemn conferences with God. It is an admirable preparation for prayer, first to hearken diligently to what God the Lord shall speak. He is not silent. His word meets your case. You have been wounded by the Lord, and you have been healed by the Lord, do not now forsake the assembling of yourself with those likewise wounded and healed. The great need of the hour is not a church without thorns, but a believer whose eyes are strained and ears ready to receive the Truth of God, a believer of thorough-going earnestness who will not yield to the soporific air of a lax age. Go and stand among His people, even if you must go silently, even if the only prayer you can muster is a sigh. God always provides for His Church because He is the Husband of it. He will not leave you to be provided for by man alone. The living water is still there. Draw from the well, and let the warfare rage; the Captain of our salvation has already overcome.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The enemy sees you alone and vulnerable, and so he redoubles his assault. This is why you now feel a great reluctance to enter the assembly: he knows that in the gathering of the saints you find armor, and he would disarm you. Do not grant him this victory. When our Lord was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, the tempter came to Him precisely because He was withdrawn from the company of men. So it is with you. The devil uses even the weaknesses of others to strike at you, knowing that if he can isolate you, his work is easier.

But you are called to war a good warfare. The commander stands ready, and He has provided arms. Do not cast them aside because the battle wearies you. The Canaanite woman cried out and was likened to a dog, yet she pressed on until the Lord marveled at her faith. Will you, then, let the stings of passing words drive you from the very table of the children? Perseverance often obtains what initial worthiness could not.

When you say you cannot bear it, I understand the flesh’s cry. Yet we are bidden to pray without ceasing. Even in the midst of the assembly, when a sharp look or a whisper assails you, lift up your heart silently. This is not hypocrisy but holy warfare. You are not there to please men but to be healed by the Physician. Remember also that those who trouble you show remorse afterward; their own souls are fields of struggle. Your steadfast presence may, by God’s grace, become a silent rebuke unto their repentance. But if you flee, you both wound yourself and abandon your post.

Let us be ashamed of nothing lowly, for Christ took the form of a servant. The body is not evil; it can be an instrument of righteousness when you force it into obedience. So come. Defy that dread with the very thing it opposes: gathering with the brethren. The spiritual benefits far outweigh any earthly comfort. I will pray with you, but you must also act. Do not hand the devil a second Sunday in surrender. The hour of conflict is precisely the hour for drawing near, not retreating.

I hear how exhausted you are, and how deeply these ongoing attacks have worn you down. When the very place meant for refuge and worship becomes another battlefield, it is understandable that you would want to pull away. That sense of being abandoned is exactly where the enemy aims his lies, whispering that God does not see or that He is not doing anything about your pain. That is the oldest challenge: Hath God said? Does God truly know what you are enduring? The feelings are real, but the conclusion is false. He sees, and He has not abandoned you.

The warfare you are describing is not primarily against flesh and blood, even when it works through other people. You have recognized the pattern, and you see the remorse in those involved. This tells you that you are not fighting them; you are fighting spiritual forces that exploit vulnerability. The natural reaction is to withdraw, to protect yourself in the flesh by avoiding the environments where the attacks happen. But since the battle is spiritual, fleshly weapons like simple avoidance or fighting back with your own willpower will not bring lasting victory. You end up living in a quasi-world, constantly bracing yourself, and the harassment continues because you are trying in your own strength to ward off a power that only yields to spiritual weapons.

God has provided those weapons. The Word of God, faith, and prayer are mighty through Him for pulling down the strongholds that are being raised against your mind and emotions. When you do not feel like dealing with any of it, that is the moment to make your requests known to God with raw honesty, not with a forced cheerfulness. He does not want a gift that comes by constraint. But the act of turning to Him in your exhaustion is itself a use of the spiritual weapon that begins to shift the battle from your shoulders to His.

You also mentioned the pattern where the warfare increases when you do not go to church. The enemy’s goal in these attacks is isolation. You are a vital part of the body of Christ, not just an attender of a meeting. The gathering of believers, even with its imperfections and the ways people can be used in this battle, is a place where the Spirit of God works life and strength into you through others. God’s deliverance does not always come in a single, predictable way. Sometimes He delivers us by giving us a route out of a city. Other times He delivers us through the trial itself, proving His strength in our weakness. Withdrawing may feel like a relief, but it risks cutting you off from the very fellowship where God’s life can flow to you through the members of His body. Your real connection is not to a place or a flawless institution; it is to the universal church of God, every true child of His. You need the life that flows among those children, even when the setting is difficult.

The feeling of condemnation and the pressure to perform for God are not from Him. You are not accepted because you manage to attend every service perfectly. The righteousness Christ gives is fulfilled in you as you walk after the Spirit, not as you grit your teeth and try harder. The new life you have in Christ means the old way of being driven by guilt and fear has passed away. You are now led by the Spirit of God, and that is the proof you are His child. So the next step is not to make a grand vow to force yourself into a pew. The step is to quiet your heart and ask, “Spirit, lead me tomorrow. I have no strength for this. I am afraid. But if You are leading me to gather with Your people, I ask that You would be my shield and my deliverance in that room. Let me not war after the flesh, but show me how to wield the spiritual weapon of prayer right where the attack feels strongest.”

Do not look at your ability to endure church. Look at Christ’s ability to keep you in the middle of it. The enemy wants you to believe you are getting by unseen and unprotected. You are not. The infinite God who cannot be comprehended by our minds has touched you and made you His own. That truth is your anchor. Let your request be made known to Him now, and trust that He is able to lead you, even to a gathering of His people, in a way that brings deliverance rather than fresh pain.

We want you to know how deeply we have carried your burden in our hearts these past days. It has been our privilege to stand in the gap for you, lifting up the weight of these spiritual attacks and the loneliness that has made the battle feel even heavier. We have prayed fervently for God’s hedge of protection to surround you, for His peace to guard your mind, and for His presence to be so tangible that the lies of abandonment would lose their power.

We have also asked the Lord to give you strength to press into Him, even when the last place you want to be is in a church pew. We prayed that He would reveal Himself to you in fresh ways—perhaps through His Word, through worship in your home, or through the quiet assurance that you are never truly alone. We asked Him to soften your heart toward fellowship, not out of obligation, but because He longs to meet you there in ways only He can orchestrate.

If the Lord has answered any part of these prayers—if you’ve sensed His nearness, if the attacks have lessened, or if you’ve found the courage to step back into community—we would be overjoyed to celebrate with you. Please share a praise report so we can rejoice together.

If the struggle persists, we are not walking away. We will continue to intercede for you, believing that God is working even when we cannot see it. You are not forgotten, and your request remains before the throne of grace. If you’d like, repost it so we can keep lifting you up with renewed fervor.

May the Lord bless you with His peace that surpasses understanding, and may you encounter His love in ways that heal the wounds of spiritual warfare. We pray this in the powerful name of Jesus.
