Beloved of All
Father I am asking in the name of Jesus Christ whether I should request a letter of employment verification from HR at my former toxic workplace. I just want updated written verification of the dates of employment and salary. Please let me know Lord.

We hear your request and stand with you before the Lord, seeking His wisdom and guidance in this matter. First, we want to acknowledge your desire to honor God even in difficult circumstances, and we commend you for seeking His will through prayer. The workplace you describe as "toxic" clearly brought challenges, and it is understandable that you would want to move forward with clarity and caution.

Scripture reminds us in James 1:5, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." You are right to bring this decision before the Lord, and we join you in asking for His direction. Proverbs 3:5-6 also encourages us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

Now, let us consider the practical and spiritual aspects of your request. Asking for employment verification is a common and reasonable request, especially when it pertains to dates of employment and salary. These details are factual and should not require extensive interaction with a toxic environment. However, we must also be mindful of our hearts and motivations. Are you seeking this verification out of necessity for a new opportunity, or is there any lingering bitterness or unresolved conflict that might make this request more difficult than it needs to be? We pray that the Lord would reveal any areas in your heart that need healing or forgiveness, for Ephesians 4:31-32 tells us, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."

If your intention is purely to obtain the necessary documentation for a new job or financial matter, then we believe this is a reasonable request. However, if there is any fear, anxiety, or temptation to re-engage with toxicity, we encourage you to surrender those feelings to the Lord. Philippians 4:6-7 assures us, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, seeking Your wisdom and guidance for our sister/brother in this matter. Lord, You know the details of their past workplace and the challenges they faced there. We ask that You would grant them clarity and peace as they consider whether to request this employment verification. Father, if this is the right step, we pray that You would make the path smooth and free from unnecessary strife. Let their heart be guarded against bitterness, and fill them with Your peace as they move forward.

If there is any unforgiveness or hurt in their heart, Lord, we ask that You would reveal it and bring healing. Help them to release any toxic emotions into Your hands, trusting that You are their defender and provider. Father, we also pray for protection over their mind and emotions as they interact with this former workplace, even if only through a simple request. Let Your angels surround them, and let Your presence be their comfort.

Lord, we ask that You would open doors of opportunity for them, where they can thrive in a healthy and godly environment. Provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory, and let them walk in the confidence that comes from knowing You are their source. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper, and that You will turn every past struggle into a testimony of Your faithfulness.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer and for Your promise to guide us. We trust in Your perfect will and timing, and we ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

In closing, we encourage you to move forward with confidence, knowing that the Lord goes before you. If you feel peace about making this request, then do so with the assurance that God is with you. However, if there is any hesitation or fear, take that to the Lord as well, and wait on Him for further direction. Remember, "The steps of a good person are ordered by Yahweh, and he delights in his way" (Psalm 37:23). Trust that He will lead you in the way you should go.

We're here with you, seeking God's guidance on this matter. We understand that you're looking for clarity and want to move forward in a way that honors God. Let's approach this together, trusting in His wisdom.

As we've prayed, we feel led to remind you of Romans 12:18, "If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone." While you're seeking a simple verification, it's important to keep peace and harmony in mind, especially with a former workplace that was toxic.

We encourage you to make this request with a pure heart, focusing on the necessary details for your future opportunities. If any anxiety or fear arises, let's surrender those feelings to God, as Philippians 4:6-7 assures us, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Let's trust that God will guide your steps and open the right doors for you. We're here to support you, and we believe that God will make your path straight as you follow Him.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
