I hear the weight of so many burdens laid out before the Lord. There is a wrestling in these words, a deep cry for intervention, for protection, and for breakthrough. It is right to bring everything to Him, because His shoulders are broad enough to carry it all. We often do not know why some are healed instantly and others go through a long, slow process, but we know He is the one who established the processes of healing in the body and the mind. Sometimes a person jumps up with a sudden, undeniable physical change, and other times the healing comes so gradually that it is almost invisible until one day you look back and see how far He has brought you. Both are divine. I join you in asking for healing for those you named, for their bodies, their minds, and the deep soul wounds that only He can reach. He cares about every single one.

You asked for the Lord’s anointing on the outreach, the services, and especially on the preaching. That is a crucial thing to desire because we cannot manufacture it. It is a power that goes beyond clever words or careful structure. When the Spirit’s anointing rests on the proclamation of the good news, there is a dynamic force that changes lives. Even the Son of God ministered in that anointing. If He depended on it, how much more do we need it for the planned outreaches and the work before you? Pray with me that God would open up a greater moving of His Spirit in your own heart and in the gathering, so that it is not just a meeting but a life-giving encounter.

Regarding all the conflict and the desperate plea for conviction in others, there is a difficult truth we must hold carefully. The Spirit works deeply in a person’s heart, and sometimes He cultivates a conviction there that looks strange to us, or He chooses not to impose a conviction that we think should be obvious. A person can feel strongly that the Lord would have them walk a certain narrow path, and they follow it with a clear conscience before God, giving thanks. I cannot pass my own convictions on to another soul to bind them, nor should I try to play the Holy Spirit in their life. My place is not to put a stumbling block in their way. We can pray that He would restrain evil, heal dysfunction, and bring salvation, but the deep, secret work of convicting a heart belongs to Him. I pray He would work powerfully in those situations you mentioned, bringing true reconciliation and healing the hurt you feel.

As you move forward with work, with the prayer gathering, and with the sermons, lean fully on the power that comes from Him. The anointing with oil in Scripture was a symbolic act, an outward picture of the Holy Spirit’s work, setting a person apart for His touch. As you prepare and as you speak, the reality behind that symbol is what you need. You cannot whip up a frenzy or fake a result, but you can trust a faithful God to move. I ask with you for complete protection, for wisdom on the job, for the children in school, for the unsaved, and for all those suffering in hidden places. He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above and beyond what we can ask. Let your heart rest in that truth, and may the earth indeed be filled with His glory.
